Acne routine
Hey guys ! I am sharing my routine with you, because it’s been so efficient with me ! Although I have a mixed skin, this routine will be efficient with any skin type ! • Morning : 1. In the shower, I only wash my face with clear water ; though if you absolutely want to use something, I would recommand using a super fat cold process soap ! 2. I then spray witch hazel all over my face ! 3. To finish, I use my homemade cream whom recipe will be at the end. However, you can simply mix a drop of aloe vera and a drop of jojoba oil infused with tea tree and lavender oils in your hands and apply it to your face. You can replace jojoba oil by black seed oil or COSMETIC hazelnut oil, but jojoba truly is the best. 4. Next step is makeup, if you choose to put some on. If you can, use organic products, but I’ll admit that I don’t. Use as much powder products as you can, especially for your foundation, as it won’t penetrate your skin or not as much as liquid or cream products. • Evening 1. First step is to take off your makeup. You can still do this step if you didn’t put any makeup on, as it’ll also remove any kind of pollution from your skin. The oil you’ll use isn’t really important, since it won’t remain on your skin : if you can, use jojoba oil, but as it’s quite expensive for a little quantity you can use another oil. I, for one, use alimentary bio virgin cold pressed argan oil which is also good for acne but cheaper since it’s alimentary. To choose an oil adapted to your skin type and non comedogenic, refer to this link : http://myblogbbf.com/carrier-oils-by-skin-type-comedogenic-ratings/ . You have a few options to take your makeup off : - personnaly, I put a few drops of oil in my hands, then massage my whole face. After that, I put hazel witch on a micro fiber towel that I use to take off the oil. You can also use cotton pads, but I feel like it irritates my skin. - you can also mix oil and hazel witch and massage it onto your face, then wash your face with super fat cold process soap or with white clay or with ghassoul / rhassoul. You will then need to use a pad / micro fiber towel soaked with witch hazel to take the water’s limestone off your face. - you can put oil and witch hazel on a pad or a micro fiber towel, then use it to take off your makeup. 2. This step is optional, it’s up to you whether you do it or not. You can spray witch hazel all over your face, but I choose not to do it since I feel like the way I took off my makeup leaves a bit of it on my face. 3. The next step is once again applying either my homemade cream or a mix of aloe vera and tea tree and lavender infused jojoba oil. And here you go ! • Masks : Once every week, do a honey mask. If you want it to be a scrub, add almond powder and massage the mixture before letting it on for at least five minutes. You can also do a ghassoul / rhassoul or a white clay mask once a week as well. • Homemade cream recipe : For this recipe, you’ll need : - 3,5 spoons of aloe vera - 3,5 spoons of jojoba oil ( + tea tree and lavender oils if it’s not already infused with it) - 2 spoons of shea butter - 1 spoon of honey - optional : a spoon of cornstarch so that it doesn’t feel to greasy. - also optional : a few drops of vitamin E to keep your cream longer. My jojoba oil already add some in it, so I didn’t add. To obtain a bit more than 50ml (I’d say around 70), I double the quantities. You need to sterilise everything you’ll use, including the container you’ll put the cream in. You’ll also need an electric mixer. Start by whipping the shea butter alone, and when it looks like whipped cream. Add then the jojoba oil, and when it’s fully incorporated add the aloe vera. Once again, add the honey when it’s fully incorporated, and then the cornstarch if you use it. End by adding vitamin E if you choose to, and around ten drops of tea tree oil and of lavender oil if you didn’t put any in your jojoba oil. I still added a few drops even though my jojoba oil was infused with it, around five. Your cream is now ready !! You really don’t need much for the whole face or you’ll look like a disco ball. That was it !
