Le phare de Sainte-Marine
Olympic (115) — On May 29, 1911, Olympic left Belfast for the first time to undergo her sea trials. Her basin trials had been completed 27 days earlier and had been satisfactory.
Olympic had been spun around in the channel for the first time the night before, and finally on the morning of the 29th steamed into Belfast Lough, had her compasses adjusted and then began her sea trials which were to last two days.
Over the course of her trials, Olympic reached a top speed of 21.75 knots which exceeded the builder’s expectations of 21 knots.
