A small one-shot set between Ep. VIII and Ep. IX of my By Arrow and By North series.

Five years of war. Five years of unsent letters. Athos has no way of knowing if Claire is still alive. He writes to her anyway.

What do you do when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep? Write angst I guess.

This is the result.

I decided to create a separate series for one-shots set between episodes, so as not to mess up the flow of the main one. Hopefully someday I'll find the courage to post the other one-shots I have and fill it with things that are a little lighter? And maybe spicier? Who knows.
