About Me!

You can call me Sunny, Sunshine, Mama Bear, Mama, or really anything else! (Don’t worry I’ll let you know if I get uncomfy!!) I use she/her pronouns, and I identify as bisexual!

I’m 19 years old, and a caregiver! I love cuddling with my little ones, watching movies, making snacks, and reading stories!

I love writing, and I have a fairly popular story on both Wattpad and Ao3 called “Little Secrets, Little Bucky”. If you’re ever wondering what kind of caregiver I am, give it a read! Bucky’s caregiver is based on myself!

This is a safe place that I created for myself to share my thoughts and vent about my feelings as a caregiver! I have a lot of maternal instincts that tend to build up and I’m hoping that this will be a good outlet.

I’d also love to make some friends. Fellow caregivers, littles, both, neither, I don’t mind a bit! I love talking to just about everyone, so feel free to send in asks or DM me! I am new to tumblr (sort of, it’s complicated!) so bear with me if I make any mistakes!

I heard you were good at giving advice so here goes…I want to ask my mama if I’m her baby, because I don’t really know even though she says it sometimes. I don’t want her to miss out on having another baby if that’s what she wants, I just want her to be happy. How can I ask her while also making sure to prepare for the worst?

Hey there, I can certainly do my best! Honestly, you’ll never know until you ask. The best thing to do is ask outright. But don’t ask unless you can handle a ‘no’. If you’re in a place where rejection could really hurt you, it may be best to work on yourself a little longer before you ask, and that’s perfectly alright. But if you feel prepared to accept whatever answer you get, then go for it!

Hi! I’m a kiddo with chronic pain so I have to take it easy, can you suggest some activities I can do with my cg while laying down or resting? Or just minimal energy activities

Hello! I’ve got a couple activities that I think are lots of fun!

The first is going outside and laying in a blanket! Look at the bugs in the grass, the clouds in the sky, and the leaves on the trees. Let Mother Nature mesmerize you!

Movie days! Super fun, and there’s no need to get off the couch or out of bed. For extra fun, have some themed snacks!

Blowing bubbles! Blow them yourself or have a caregiver blow them for you! It’s so fun to look at the bubbles and maybe even try to pop them!

Obviously there’s lots more that you can do, but these were my personal favorites! I hope they were helpful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey kiddos, this is just a friendly reminder that while its perfectly alright to lean on your caregiver and ask for support, it’s not okay to turn your relationship into a codependent one. Support systems are important and it is not safe to only rely on one person! Caregivers need breaks sometimes, and that’s okay!

Thinking about early morning cuddles…

Waking up to my little one’s quiet voice calling out to me, and opening my eyes to see them standing by my bed with their favorite stuffie, still rubbing at their sleepy eyes.

“What are you doing up my little love? It’s too early to start the day.”

Pulling back the covers to make room for them, and quickly finding my arms full of a very sleepy baby.

“Get some more rest, Mama will still be here when you wake up.”

Humming softly and rubbing their back as they drift back to sleep in the quiet of the early morning…

Hey Sunny, I'm a brand new Caregiver to my little, and I'm having some issues. Do you have any advice with helping them out of littlespace? I've been trying to help, but I feel my way of helping is too aggressive and the reason they become upset when big again. I've heard to stop using their nicknames helps and I told them to put up their littlestuff, but unfortunately alot of the nicknames I use for them is also nicknames I use when their big too. Any and all advice would be so greatly appreciated. 💛

Hello!! So when I’ve had to help my babies be big, I’ve had a couple of techniques that made it a little easier for both of us.

The first was that they had 20, 10, and 5 minute warnings so that they wouldn’t feel blindsided.

I also gave them plenty of time, instead of having them rush. If they needed to be big by a certain time I would start the process much earlier than necessary, a minimum of thirty minutes.

One of the most helpful tips I can give you is that if they have comfort items, do not take them away just because they need to be big. All it will do is distress them. Personally, I would have them help me put away their other things. For example, one of my babies had a very special blankie. So he would help me put away his pacifiers, teethers, sippy cups, stuffies, toys, etc, but me could keep his blankie with him until he was ready to let go.

Also, I’ve found it VERY helpful to separate nicknames. Now I’m not saying that you have to completely keep every single nickname in one category, I’m just saying that there should be certain names that are only used when they are big and certain names that are only used when they are little. This can help with the transition.

And last: talk to your baby!!! Communication is key, always. Ask them what would make the process easier. Ask them what they feel is the most distressing part so that you guys can find a solution. The biggest mistake that I see caregivers make is assuming that they need to have all of the answers. You guys are a team! That means you can work together to find answers!

Hiya. My mama is about to have a new baby. And I can’t help but feel jealous. I know I shouldn’t but I only just got back in contact with my mom and I’m afraid she is just not gonna want me anymore. Im afraid she is gonna stop loving me because she will have my brother. And I feel really stupid for feeling this way, but I do. I don’t know what to do and I just want the bad feelings to go away.

Hey there! First things first, you do not need to feel stupid for feeling this way. It’s normal. It can be really scary when parents have new babies, especially when they haven’t always been around. But please do your best to remember that no one could ever replace you, and anyone who makes you feel otherwise deserves no place in your life. If your mother is a good mother, she’ll know that this baby is a completely unique human being. You’ll be alright. My door is always open if you need to talk 💙
