Hi mamabutts! I'm a huge fan of your jaspearl fanfic and I've just caught up! I'm interested in seeing the art that was made for it but, as you know, Tumblr had a NSFW purge. Is there anywhere else that I can find the art?

You know, I’m in the process of putting all my stuff up on Pillowfort at the moment. It’s....slow going and I’ve been lazy about it since there’s not a lot of activity on Pillowfort right now, but it would be a good place for me to store my works until there’s a more permanent place (and who knows? Maybe it will become the next big new Tumblr). My Pillowfort is here:

It’s also been recommended to me that I put the art up on AO3 alongside the fic, but AO3 really isn’t great for images, unfortunately.

There’s also my Twitter! I tend to be most active there, though not necessarily a lot of my own art makes it up there (again, Twitter’s not a great art-viewing platform in my opinion and CERTAINLY not for fics)...

Once the fic is done, I’m planning on compiling it in a downloadable pdf format with the images and illustrations together. : ) But that’s slow-going. I’ve got the beginning of the next fic half-written, but it’s not quite enough to put up on Patreon yet. It’s taking me a while to get back into things, especially since Tumblr has basically disowned me and there’s not really a place for me to go yet. I’m a homeless smut-peddler atm! It makes things hard.

But yeah, I’ll try to remember to keep pushing out the old art and fic chapters on Pillowfort for now.

Fearful Asymmetry: the final donation tally!

Hello, beautiful people! And especially @hmrg​ for the pic~

I am very, VERY happy to announce the final dollar amounts from print and digital sales, soon to make their way to some very deserving tigers and other big cats! So without further ado, here are the donation grand totals!

Print sale donations (Big Cat Rescue): US$1132.00

Digital sale donations (CARE Rescue Texas) US$1287.00 

The donations will be made this week, and I’ll post an update to verify the drop once that happens. I believe Big Cat Rescue will send pics of a perma-installed ceramic plaque crediting the donor ($1000 for the Big Cat Hero plaque with the tagline “Fearful Asymmetry zine project - Jaspers never give up!” or something to that effect; then the remaining amount as a general donation), and I’m sure I can get a social media shout out or maybe some kind of certificate from CARE Rescue Texas. In any case, proof will be forthcoming! In BCR’s case, I believe the turnaround time for the plaque is one month, so I’ll post pics once those come and proof of the donation transaction in the meantime.

Hey, um.. if your fics get deleted from tumblr, I gotta say I'll really miss the illustrations. Ao3 doesn't host images, but it supports embedding them; so have you thought about maybe hosting the pics somewhere else and making the Ao3 version of A Long Way From Home illustrated? It'd be a shame if that version of the fic was truly lost.

That’s my main concern, too! AO3 doesn’t have great method for adding illustrations to the fic, but I may want to find a way to remedy that as best I can. The illustrated version is truly the way I believe the fic “should” be read, so I will be sure to look into options as soon as possible.

@copperpearl is already backing up my blog for me because she’s an actual angel sent down from gay gem heaven, and I’ll be able to use that as a reference to make sure that everything ends up looking exactly like how the original version of ALWFH was. Whether I do it on AO3 or another site, I’m not sure. But one thing’s for damn sure: I didn’t write a quadrillion-word long fic just for Tumblr to toss it into the ether. Keep your eye out for updates as to where the new illustrated version of ALWFH will live.

Also note that, when ALWFH is finished, I intend to create a PDF version for download, complete with illustrations. So definitely look forward to that as well!

Life Update

Hey all,

So just a little update on some unfortunate things right now. I’m putting it below the cut because it can be upsetting.

My sister’s cancer has spread to stage 4, despite all the treatments. It’s breaking my heart to have to tell you this, but it’s something I need to go through with my family. Right now we’re just trying to prolong her life and find treatments that may work for her.

Times are really hard for me right now. I’m suffering a lot of anxiety and doing my best to keep distracted to maintain some semblance of ‘normal’ during all this. Please just know that if I’m not around a lot or if I seem off, it’s because I’m just dealing with a lot right now.

I just want to keep my head above water and reduce my anxiety, so I’ll definitely stick around and try to keep myself distracted from all this when I can. I just feel like y’all should know what’s going on.
