Unsurprisingly due to our line of work I seem to have a weirdly large collection of abstract drawing of sewing machine. Anyone with a @kalopsiac business card has likely has seen my very first attempt at this but there have quite a few others like this one over the years. Back in 2015 myself and @raidtheicebox got married in a venue with a gallery at the front. We were of course understandably worried about what exhibition would be up on the day of the wedding. So like totally normal, sane and logical people we decided to create a completely new show of our own to run for the week of the wedding. Nothing lowers the stress organising a wedding like adding an exhibition on top. More hexagonal goodness today with an update to ths graph I posted a couple of days ago. Oh yeah and on that there seems to have been a bit of confusion about my wording in that post, when said 'sad personal victory.' This one is a bit of a through back to @kalopsiac time at Ocean Terminal running galleries and workspaces. One of the units we worked out of had a room in it that had a keypad lock that no one new the combination for. It's been a while since I posted/produced any personal work but in these strange times here we go! I've recently revamped my maths coding system to better interlock as a repeat pattern. I got the idea after a very long, hungover conversation about how multiple dimensions might be structured in relation to each other. Last week we received our first chair, upholstered by Native Flok using a Kalopsia pattern printed on Fife linen by BeFab Be Creative. This chair was left, sad and broken until it was re-homed with us last summer, but we would never have guessed it could look like this! Thank you Native Flok for your amazing work!

I was tidying The Facility yesterday and come across one of the old Kalopsia Gallery sign. It was nice little reminders of our routes and that we were the first (orange) gallery in Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh.  

A lot has changed since then but the Kalopsia orange is still going strong.

Looking back at some of our past exhibitions and 2 years ago we exhibited ‘Textile Photography’ at Kalopsia Gallery Ocean Terminal Shopping Centreby 11 local and international creators.

An exhibition that brought cutting edge textile works to Ocean Terminal and presented innovative and often surprising works that challenge perceptions of textiles as an art form through the medium of photography.
