She can’t help a slight smirk once Rin brings back a box full of paper.

“I like the way you think.” Carpenters appears beside her, picking up one of the papers and remodeling it into what seemed to be an American hundred dollar bill. “Kidnappers on crime shows always went for American dollars, so that’s probably what the enemy wants.”

“Yeah, yeah. Just keep telling yourself that.”

They hand one of the papers to (their own) Carpenters, remodeling it into what was....a very shoddy looking $100, which was quickly tossed. “The thing is, that’s only TV, y’know? The guy’s probably Japanese, in Japan waiting for Japanese money ‘cause exchange rates could be shitty now or somethin’ like thta” 

They toss another dodgy note over their shoulder, silently cursing under their breath. “...also, yen would be easier to make.”

“…I don’t have any, and I used up all the gold coins from that one time with your alternate, so we can’t sell those either.”

“I thought you were loaded ‘cause you hang out with him...well, looks like there’s only one other way, then!”

They run off, before returning with a cardboard box [Filled with paper, most likely] and slamming it onto one of the nearby tables.

“Lets make some dough.”

“’Course we are! Except, how much...uh, money do we have?”

They’ve been here the whole time, watching silently at the events that were unfolding on screen.

But money, huh? Guess it was pretty obvious what that kidnapper wanted: It was one of the most cliche demands they knew of-
