It's probably just a dead mouse.

Woke up to blood spatter on inside of door.

Unidentifiable source, cat seemed happy enough.

Bizarre.

Naturally, I screamed for mum.

She looked at the cat, declared it fine, stating "She probably brought in a mouse and it is dead somewhere in your room," before exiting room.

Naturally I screamed again.

Mum brought in the Dachshunds who, disconcertingly, weren't that interested in looking for a shredded bleeding mouse.

I screamed again. "But what if it is inside my bed or something?!"

Mum: "Don't worry, it will turn up somewhere. Or your cat ate it whole."

She walked out.

Naturally, I screamed.

The mouse was never found.
