Upon way too much reflection the platonic soulmateism in project hail mary is unmatched. Our species evolved at the exact rate that they did so that we could meet. We are made from the same exact cosmic dust, and we can probably trace our lineage to a common ancestor, and you are just as smart as I am because if either of us had needed to be less intelligent to survive, we would not have met each other, and we would not understand each other. Every single star aligned and died just the right amount so we could meet. People died so that we could be as important as we are to each other. We are each one of the most brilliant minds of our species, and that we are capable of love and that we love each other will be the reason that billions of sapient creatures who, too, are capable of love and light and laughter, just as we are, get to live on for billions more years. We reached out to the stars, and survived our own loneliness, and grappled with the quiet of our lives for decades, and as it turns out, the only reason I was ever lonely was because I hadn't met you.
