Klaus tried to laugh off his nervousness as the man mentioned that he worked for the Sheriff’s office. “I, ah, I’m not sure, honestly,” he replied. A large grin spread over his face as he saw the dog. “I guess I just needed some air. Life has been crazy.”

Steve stood there, taken aback.

“I understand the crazy part, but you just decided to walk up to someone else’s house, because you needed air?”

He wasn’t too sure about that, the cop in him told him something else is going on. 

“Are you in trouble?” Steve asked, skeptically.

meg looked at him and adjusted her weight onto her other foot, crossing her arms in front of her chest. she still clung onto the rock, just in case. “ you know, i don’t know what’s going on there, “ she said, extending her free hand and motioning between steve and an invisible bucky next to him, “ but i ship it. you’d make a cute couple,” she added, giggling wildly. his words seem to bring some reality back to her mind - something she didn’t want. she frowned, and glanced at the rock. “ i haven’t? i can change that, “ she said, turning on her heels and hurling the rock towards the front door. in her drunken state, throwing with any sort of aim was beyond her realm of capability. however, the rock still managed to hit a window and crack it. she smiled smugly and turned back to him. “ i did it! i should be in a bowling league. “

Steve laughed as he listened to her, “Yeah,” he nodded. “I’ve heard such before.” 

Before he could move to stop her, the rock was thrown and the window broken. Steve let his head fall and exhaled hard.

“You know, I’m going to have to arrest you now. I didn’t want to, but you knida forced my hand here.” he told her as he pulled out his hand cuffs from his belt.

Ordo was more than a little nervous. He was already thinking of cashing out his check for his root beer and going home, when she walked through the door. 

“Hey,” he waved, relived. 

Ordo stood as she approached the table and moved to pull out her chair, “How are you?” he asked.

sage nodded and grabbed the medical kit. it wasn’t extensive, but it was enough. perhaps it would help until the ambulance got there, at least. she didn’t respond, there wasn’t time. she rushed over to the driver of the suv and began her work. by the end of it, she was covered in blood and sweat. she was used to it by now - it didn’t even phase her. she wiped the sweat from her brow, leaving a streak of blood across her forehead. she got up and walked back to the sheriff. “ i’ve done all i can do. there’s possible internal bleeding, but he should be fine for now. “ sage handed him back the remains of his med kit. “ sorry it’s a little messy. “

Woody, with a gloved hand took the med kit from her, “That was incredible,” he said, still watching the victim. “ I have another incident report to fill out, is there anything else you need? You’re welcome to wait for the ambulance, they’re pulling up as we speak actually,” He began to walk over to them, “Or you can head on your way. Either or, thank you.” Woody turned back toward the ambulance.

“Anywhere, really. Food is food.” He was beyond hungry and just anything sounded good. Buck looked out the window as he thought about his friend’s question. He knew Steve was looking out for him like he always did, but he never liked asking him for help with something like this. He shrugged it off, trying to not dwell on it. “What? You miss me that much?” He threw the attention off him. 

Steve half smiled as he pulled into the parking lot of a burger place a few blocks down the road. 

“Buck, you know I only ask because I care. You’re my friend. So,” Steve parked and unbuckled his seat belt,” If you do, my door is always open.”

Steve got of the car and walked toward the restaurant and looked back at Bucky, “Plus, you keep all the stupid with you.” and he laughed.

carol studied the captain’s face. perhaps he really didn’t remember anything. she didn’t take the captain as one to string her along just for the sake of it. she sighed and sat back, taking a sip of the beer. “ there’s no easy way to explain this, captain, “ she started. she couldn’t figure out how to get back home without him. “ i believe some cosmic force tried to erase everyone’s memories. you aren’t just a retired soldier. you’re part of the avenger initiative - a group of supers started by our friend, nick fury. “ 

Steve listened to her and took a sip of his own beer, “Avengers,” he repeated silently. “I’ve heard of them. But..no me, I can’t be.”

Steve had no idea what to say. He’s just living his life and all of a sudden here comes this woman telling him he’s a super hero. 

“So this Nick Fury, is he around?” He had heard crazier, why not.

Uki didn’t particularly like cops. People in positions of authority had a tendency to think they were trouble, so they avoided the attention as much as possible. But Uki wanted to do the right thing, so they made themselves tap on the video. “Um… I think I saw two people break into a house.” 

Woody, upon hearing this rolled his window down, put his report book down in the passenger seat and looked up at them, “Broken into? Where at exactly?” 

He undid his seat belt and went to get out of his cruiser, “Are you alright?” he asked them as he did so.

“oh, you startled me!” ariel giggled, her cheeks burning as she turned toward the other. “i was in my own little world, i’m sorry.” she was singing near a pond she found, her fingers glossing over the top of the water with a small smile on her face. her bag was nuzzled against her hip as she sat on the floor. “you are more than welcomed to join me if you would like.” she scooted over a little, giving the person room to sit.

Ordo was walking back to his truck from the pond he always went to when he needed to think. This was his one happy place that helped him escape the nightmares that plagued him, even though they never made any sense. 

She startled him as well, considering no one else was ever here, “Um, sure,” he said unsure. 

He sat in the grass next to her and crossed his legs, looking out over the pond. “Why do you like coming here?” he asked out of genuine curiosity.

Quickly, trying to reassure the woman, Uki shook their head. “No, you’re fine.” They just weren’t really used to kindness. “I just thought I was bothering you, that’s all.” 

Lip caught in teeth, they thought over the question. “Um, running, I guess. I don’t really have a lot of free time though.” They’d set their hours as a delivery person as all days, all times. They needed the money. “What about you? Reading?” 

“No! Silly, you’re not bothering me at all, I enjoy meeting others. I guess I’ve just been told before that I can be a little pressing when it comes to talking to people, so if you ever feel that way let me know,” she smiled.

Rapunzel put her bookmark in her book and turned to them, “Running? like for exercise or work? And yeah, reading is definitely one of my favorite things, along with painting.”

Rapunzel thought for a second before asking, “You said you don’t have a lot of free time, but would you like to come over to my art studio sometime? I know life is stressful but it’s a safe place where you an relax,” she smiled at them, hoping she didn’t come off weird.

He collected the darts again and held them out to the man. “You can have first throw.” It wasn’t generosity, it was simply him building up the chance to win in a more dramatic manner. He was a true showman, even to the point of annoying people. “There’s a reason I was called Hawkeye though, just warning you.” But those were just dreams… he reminded himself, caught between reality and nightmares. 

Ordo smirked, listening to the man talk about himself. He figured this guy was going to try and make an example of some sort out of him, fat chance, Ordo thought. 

He grabbed one of the darts by the tail end, like he used to hold his knives. For some reason he always thought vibroblade and had dreams of things that didn’t look..human. a vast ocean.. he pulled himself out of it and focused. Ordo looked at the dart and the board and tossed it gracefully.

Ordo turned to the man, “One in the black,” smiled and winked. He threw the rest of his darts at the board very pointedly and got all in dead center except the last one. He turned to the man, took a sarcastic bow, retrieved the darts and said, “You’re up, hawkeye.”

She had no idea what Patty would say, to be honest, but considering Piper’s ability to cut people down to size, she suspected her snark was inherited. But she wasn’t a Halliwell alone, she was also a Matthews. “Ugh, I’m sorry.” She called out. “I didn’t realise this was private property, and then you scared the crap out of me, and seriously, you have no idea the kind of craziness I’ve dealt with, so people popping up out of nowhere gives me the heebie jeebies.” 

“Well, I wasn’t trying to insult you, but that is how I was raised.” Steve was still confused as to why she was here. “Is there something you needed? I am a police officer.” 

Steve watched her trying to figure out why she was so jittery, like she was scared of something.

She stood up, nodding. “Yes sir. Thank you.” She left, and at 6, she was back at his office, exactly on time. She always followed the rules, but truthfully, she’d been watching the clock very carefully. She was excited to work on her first real case. “Ready boss?” 

Woody looked up at her and half smiled. 

“Always am,” he replied. He stood and walked over to the table next to his window where his coffee stuff was, downed the dregs of his cup and picked a case file he had set aside for tonight. 

Woody turned back to her and opened the file, “ As of late there has been a long string of robberies in town. We need to go to the vendors that were hit and see what intel we can gather from them. This will be a long one.” he closed the file.

“Get your cruiser and your kit and meet me at Hub, we may only be able to talk to one of the business owners, with it being so late, but we will be doing a stake out tonight.”

sage saw the whole thing happen. the red car ran a red light, and slammed into the black suv just as she was about to cross the street. she was grateful that she didn’t. she rushed over and did a quick vitals check on the drivers involved. she noticed they were, thankfully, going to be alright but one needed medical attention that she couldn’t help with at the moment. she looked around and put eyes on the cop car sitting a few feet away. she ran up to the car and knocked ferociously on the window. when the sheriff rolled the window down, she told the whole story breathlessly. 

“ the driver of the black suv needs medical attention. i’m an emergency nurse at the hospital in town. there’s only so much i can do to help, though. do you have a medical kit with you? “ 

When the woman approached the his cruiser window he was in the process of throwing his report book in the other seat and pulling the radioing dispatch to get a bus to the scene. The crash itself nearly gave Woody a heart attack, and this woman almost gave him a second one. 

He threw open his door, kit in hand, “Yes ma’am, here,” he handed it to her. “C’mon, lets go see what we can do, I called a bus, so they’ll be here very shortly.” he broke off in a run toward the crash.

scar chuckled at her and flicked his cigar toward her when he finished it. “as you should be.” he smirked, walking to sit on the bench out of spite.

ariel saw a woman crying as she was walking and hurried to walk to her. “hey, are you okay? what happened?” she knew she clearly wasn’t okay, but she wanted to help her out. 

Rapunzel was dumbfounded, she had never been treated like this before. She looked down at his cigar that he threw at her and could feel her eyes start to well up again. He sat down at her bench anyway, after he had ran her off.

Her blood was boiling, but there was nothing she could do about it. Then she heard someone else talking to her, she turned and saw a redheaded woman asking her if she was okay.

“No, I’m not,” she stammered, letting her head fall, ashamed that she was crying again. “He was incredibly rude,” she motioned toward the man on her bench. “And he threw that at me,” she pointed at his cigar on the ground at her feet.

meg spun on her heels towards the voice coming behind her. the lights were blinding, but she could make out a fairly familiar face. as he approached her slowly, she realized where she had seen him before. she knew him from coming into the bar where she worked at with his friend. 

“ hey! you’re tennesee whiskey’s friend who only gets water, right? “ for some reason, she knew he came to the bar for some other reason, and often, but she couldn’t think of it in the moment. she was too drunk for this conversation. “ what are you doing here?”

Steve laughed, thinking of Buck, “Yes, that’s me. And I’m here because I got a call about a drunk woman wandering around wreaking havoc, and I can see by the rock you had in your hand that you were definitely looking to do so. Now, I won’t arrest you since you haven’t broken anything, yet. However, I do need you to tell me what is going on.”

He watched her, hoping she would actually talk to him and not try to hit him.

meg took a second to think about the question. part of her wanted to shrug it off and stay at home. getting ready for lunch sounded like the last thing she wanted to do. it would take way too much time to get ready. however, her stomach overcame her laziness. “ sure! where do you wanna go? the diner again?”

Ordo continued to pace around his kitchen nervously.

“Awesome. No I’m not really feeling the diner, but there is a really good sandwich shop right across the street. How does that sound?”

bucky nodded and chuckled, getting into the patrol car. “yeah, but your driving a patrol car. kind of the first thought.” he put on his seatbelt, something he knew steve would hound him if he didn’t. 

Steve sat in his seat for a second after buckling up, “Duh, Buck, I’m a cop,” he laughed and slugged him in the shoulder gently. 

“Where do you want to eat?”

Steve sat in the parking lot, thinking. He didn’t want to upset Bucky by asking but he felt bad for his friend. 

“Bucky, do you have somewhere to sleep?”
