(post for two people) still thinking about brudick in provincetown. they go to the leather bar. they go whale watching. they go to the used bookstore and come out with several books of cape cod ghost stories (Bruce) and a history of rumrunning (Dick) and five volumes of yellowed gay erotica with titles like "hard: to take" (shared.) they eat a lot of ice cream and also a lot of lobster. Bruce makes noises about buying some weird sculptures made out of fishing line. people keep trying to give Dick poppers. on the beach Bruce is an enormous eye-searing caftan under an even more enormous umbrella and Dick is in the world's tiniest speedo yelling about how cold the water is and trying to lure Bruce in.

his white whale is to get Bruce to go during bear week but so far no dice. ("you're a bear!" "I'm a WHAT"*) mostly though this is Bruce's insecurity that some other large grizzled man might swoop in and take Dick away. which is silly, because none of those guys saved Dick's life even if they do have pierced nipples.

*this is wishful thinking on Dick's part Bruce needs to get fatter to qualify as a bear. it's a work in progress.
