TOH ZINE UPDATE
We have got all your submissions! Thank you for contributing to the zine!
There's still a lot of editing to do and formatting to get done. We expect the zine to be released sometime soon!
Thank you for your patience!
I got a few asks about this so here’s an update. I started uni a year ago so things have been insanely hectic lol. I handed over moderating the zine to @mangaloversolar2000 who assigned an editor. Anyway so from what I know that editors been in the hospital for months now (idk who they are but I hear they’re getting better). The zine should be out soon!
the main editor I assigned has been in the hospital for a while, I'll be emailing them on whether they could send over what they have so far or ask them to post it on the main page @toh-digital-community-zine
About previous reblog,Jax isn't white his actor is Asian even if it was hard to see his face in alot of shots and Gangle isn't black her actress is Indian. I have a few issues how the finale went down but the misinformation about Gangle's and Jax's race and ethnicity going around just to make it look worse or unintentionally racist is doing too much and it's just as harmful to strip away what they are to basic black and white or make it about race
Their races are irrelevant to their dynamic or how they are written as characters and not one of the problems with the show or final
I actually had no idea! To be completely honest, I've only ever seen people on my dash referring to Gangle as Black and Jax as white, so I'm really sorry for assuming the wrong race based on what others were saying. When I saw appleyass123’s post, I think I mainly thought they were just talking about Goose’s actual behavior and jokes in the past, so I completely missed the misinformation about the characters' races. Thank you so much for the correction! You make such an important point here. It’s definitely frustrating when the conversation shifts into misinformation, especially when it ends up erasing the actual backgrounds of the voice actors involved. Asian and Indian representation shouldn't just be flattened or misidentified to fit a specific argument. I totally agree that their races shouldn't be used as a 'gotcha' to make the writing look worse. There is plenty to discuss regarding the actual character dynamics and narrative choices in the finale without bringing in misinformed claims about their identities. It’s much more productive to focus on how they’re actually written as characters rather than trying to project labels onto them that aren't even accurate to the cast!
Prev anon doesn’t know what they’re talking about. There’s literally entire blogs detailing all the insanely horrible things gooseworx has done. Even after being educated on the subject that woman is still insanely misogynistic, racist and is downright predatory with how she has acted and talks about children. She actively made racist jokes and then claimed she wasn’t being genuine even though racism is still racism. She literally made jokes about showing sexual material to children idk how anyone can defend her. People like her should be called out for their behavior
Unfortunately, even if you do call them out nothing can be done because
They are famous
They are rich and make amazing content
And yes, I did hear that she made racist jokes in the past and people are calling out her racism out once it was revealed in the tadc finale Gangle is a black woman and Jax is a white man who has been bullying a black woman which let's be honest, unintentional or not, it makes Goose look really bad...
I also had an anon in the past show me a blog listing everything Goose has done and while I am not surprised it does disappoint me because at this point, I am used to any famous person, revealed to be problematic. That's just how it is in society unfortunately even if these sorts of problems should be taken seriously. Goose definitely isn't a great person and people should realize that...
I don't know about answering questions about Gooseworx is good idea. It will draw in those who are honestly weirdly parasocal about her and look for a space to lowkey bully. She is a little strange and says a bunch of random things that can be considered edgy for shock value but it's disheartening people try to pull it up as proof to discredit the story she was attempting to make or even imply she's an actual evil person. Even the grooming allegations were blown out of proportion from what I've seen she was irresponsible and inappropriate casually talking about NSFW art made by someone who was 17 she didn't know was 17 at the time and yes it was dumb to just be okay with continuing interacting here and there after they turned 18 but it is nothing comparable to grooming or pedophila, just someone failing to understand there needs to be stronger boundaries and caution when interacting with other artists especially making sure a NSFW artists is not a minor. The other time she messed up is defending teens don't have any problematic age gaps saying 17 and 14 dating is whatever, not good but not predatory just not educated in how teens aren't all in the same maturity level just because they're minors. It was dumb shit she did a while ago, she is not perfect and should attempt to take accountability and understand that responding to everything with a joke makes people see you or your story less seriously but it's getting to a point it looks like people are looking for anything to imply she's an actual scummy person. We need solid proof before accusing her even with something as small as whether or not she intended to treat Jax's character and experience seriously just because of dumb jokes she's made outside of the show. I'm mostly whatever about Gooseworx and can acknowledge she can do wrong or miss the intention in stories and that it's okat to criticize some of her work but I'm starting to understand why her own fandom has exhausted her to the point of no longer being as passionate about TADC. Tagging anti Gooseworx is weird, can't we just leave her be UNLESS there's some serious concerns that aren't just dumb shit she said like 5 years back?
Yeah, I know Goose's answers on tumblr are meant to be funny, and it was at first, but it slowly just gets a little bit annoying when she keeps giving vague and cryptic answers that just throws us off guard and it becomes childish rather than funny.
Finding out about allegations of her grooming a 17-year-old definitely caught me off guard and I will say if she didn't actively do anything sexual to them then yes, it is necessarily not pedophilia, however she should've realized she may have made a mistake or even came on too strong and should've apologized and stop interacting with that kid even after they turned 18 because not only will it make her look bad it will give people the wrong idea. The fact she turned it into a joke is not a good thing because these kinds of situations can cost you if you do something out of place or say one wrong thing, it can become a big deal.
There are certain times and places where you need to read the room and understand what is serious and what isn't and that is something she needs to understand and take accountability for whenever she makes a mistake and acknowledge her mistake so that people won't get the wrong idea. I truly love Goose's show, and I wholeheartedly agree if she actually listened to genuine criticism and improved her character's and gave them more development her show would've been FANTASTIC!! However, she is unfortunately friends with Vivziepop which would explain why she is childish at times and can't take criticism.
Also, I only tag Anti Gooseworx if it involves her being called out or even bashed but I do agree that it is pointless to bring something back from the past when it won't change anything or has already been resolved. I hope my answer made sense I did my best to explain in the best of my ability.
It honestly appalls me when people say that Toji never cared about Megumi. Yes, he wasn't a good father, he made mistakes and definitely played into Megumi's abandonment issues, and it was terrible move for him to try and sell Megumi into the Zenin Clan but only because Megumi had the Ten Shadows and the Zenin Clan wanted the future clan leader to have the Ten Shadows so he thought Megumi would be treated well there. Some people don't seem to realize that some bad parents care deeply about their kids. Not all but some parents, especially if they don't truly mean to hurt their child and have issues of their own.
That is to say, I am not defending terrible parents because some kids truly have it the worst when having an abusive parent, and some parents don't deserve to have children, but my point is Toji despite all of his flaws truly did love and care for Megumi deep down.
He even gave him the name "Megumi" which means "blessing" because he saw Megumi as a blessing in his life besides his wife. Don't forget both times Toji thought about Megumi before he died and indirectly asked Satoru to take care of Megumi and even went as far as to kill himself at Shibuya because he didn't want to hurt his son and was happy to learn Satoru kept his promise.
You cannot tell me Toji does not care about Megumi because no parent would've ended their own life if they didn't care! Toji cared and loved his son and I will not stand anyone saying otherwise!
One of the biggest issues with fandoms is that people think criticism = hate. Real critique actually comes from loving a piece of media enough to imagine different writing or design choices. (Obviously not talking about harassment/death threats here, that’s just toxic lol). But people get so defensive because of how parasocial fandoms have become. We merge our favorite things with our identity, so a critique of the media feels like a personal attack, even though it’s literally not.
they barely even tried with gus 😭
I originally only planned to make the Eliatrope Council and Amalia in the game, but… AAAAAA NO!!! I CAN'T!!! I REALLY CAN'T!!! I don't want Amalia to be all alone, even in a peaceful, happy place like Tomodachi Life!!!! 😭😭😭 So I spent two days making the whole Sheran Sharm family.
When I saw Amalia walking around the streets by herself, all the painful stuff from canon hit me again. I felt so sad… Even though she's already happily married to Nora in the game, I still can't stand seeing her all alone like that… 😭😭😭
BTW, I also made a Tree of Life version of Amalia. I love this possessed form of hers, it's so cute 💞 She's basically just another version of Amalia, so I made them sisters in my headcanon 🥰 Also, there's a leaf head accessory in the game that fits her so well!!!
She's even singing, it's so cute 😭💞
Also, the photo filters are great XD
There’s actually more evidence that jax is a man over a trans woman.
1. Jax outside of the circus is still a man and has no hints of transitioning and it’s even mentioned that he’s the happiest he’s been
2. Glitch still uses he/him pronouns for official posts/merch after the finale
3. People claim ribbit putting the bow on jax was the biggest indication but ribbit literally says “your secret is safe with me” when his secret was about how he might’ve killed his mom
I think what makes analyzing this show so interesting is that people can look at the exact same scenes, the exact same pieces of merchandise, or the exact same lines of dialogue, and interpret them through completely different lenses.
For instance, what one viewer sees as a dark, comedic joke about a character's backstory, another viewer might read as a coded narrative metaphor. What one person views as a funny, ironic audio contrast, another person might see as a subtle hint toward internal identity. Because creative choices in animation can be so abstract and layered, the text leaves an immense amount of room for ambiguity.
Ultimately, there isn't a definitive "canon proof" that shuts down either reading. Neither interpretation is inherently right or wrong; it just comes down to which narrative threads, tropes, and thematic elements resonate more with you as a viewer.
I really hope this isn't a terrible time asking you for a drawing request especially with all of those rude people targeting you about transfem jax but...is it okay if you can draw Jax with the trans flag please...? 🥺🥺🥺
Sure anon, here you go.
I want discuss Kakashi and what exactly happens in his mind when he thinking team 7 dynamic, and dynamic i meant who love sasuke more.
I meant we know that while Kakashi very aware his genin team are different persons but we see that he keep make paralel between his geanin team and his own team in past.
Now, i can't help it but feel Kakashi little delusional about 'who actively try bring sasuke out from darkness'. In manga it's showing Kakashi aware that naruto is active yet he keeps 'knowledge' sakura to but sakura is very passive.
And Kakashi said sasuke is like him, naruto like Obito and sakura like rin. This is where the problem come, Kakashi thinks since he rejects rin love and Kakashi thinks sasuke must accept sakura love so, sasuke will not end up alone like him. So to thinks sakura is fit with sasuke, Kakashi kind make illusion in his own mind, that sakura is doing big things for sasuke and erasing the fact it's all naruto all long, Kakashi knows it was naruto that doing many things for sasuke .
Kakashi need realize that sasuke is not him and sakura is not rin, not care how similar they are, so they destiny are different too. Sasuke and sakura are not 'what if' that Kakashi can thinking it will be better they became couple. Because those too are horrible couple, and Kakashi is not in Boruto to seeing it.
Kishimoto make Kakashi thinking sakura have big effort /doing big things for sasuke is just for make the sasusaku make sense , because you know the trope " oh look those two people love each other even not realizing it but they close one sec know that, it's so romantic ".
I think you know what i meant
Kakashi repeatedly acknowledges that Naruto is the one who keeps chasing Sasuke, understanding Sasuke, and refusing to give up on him. He knows Naruto is doing the heavy lifting when it comes to trying to save Sasuke.
Where your point becomes interesting is that Kakashi often interprets Team 7 through the lens of his old team. He sees parallels: Kakashi Hatake = Sasuke, Obito Uchiha = Naruto, and Rin Nohara = Sakura. Because of that, he sometimes talks about Sakura's feelings for Sasuke as if they have special significance, even when the story shows Naruto taking most of the action.
I would not say Kakashi is "delusional," but I do think he is emotionally biased. He wants Team 7 to succeed where his own team failed. He lost Obito, lost Rin, and spent years alone. So when he sees Sakura loving Sasuke despite everything, he may place more importance on that than the manga's actual events justify.
At the same time, I don't think Kakashi necessarily believes Sasuke and Sakura are destined to be together because Kakashi and Rin failed. The manga never has Kakashi explicitly say, "Sasuke should accept Sakura because I rejected Rin." That part is more of a fan interpretation than something stated in the text but with how it's worded, it sure as hall seems that way.
As for whether Sasuke and Sakura make sense as a couple, that's where fans are divided. Many readers feel the story does not show enough development from Sasuke's side and that Naruto's bond with Sasuke is explored much more deeply. Others argue that Sasuke eventually recognizes Sakura's loyalty and grows to return her feelings. However, that is hard to believe considering Naruto Gaiden gives us an insight.
I keep seeing this @mae-lody person in your and @appleyass123's comments and holy shit they can't seem to respect anyone's opinions on transfem jax or try to understand where people are coming! They are so fixated that jax being a transfem is canon and get upset for not using she/her pronouns when it is never stated to be canon.
Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate the support! appleyass123 has been incredibly respectful and she's only ever been explaining their own perspective while defending themselves.
I do want to add that I don't blame mae-lody at all for pushing the transfem Jax theory, since it's an interpretation I've seen a ton of fans deeply resonate with. Personally, I don't mind having discussions with others at all since it’s genuinely interesting to see other people's points of view and how they connect with the story. To be honest, it’s been a pretty cool experience getting to understand their perspective (and sorry, I'm not sure what pronouns they use!).
It only really becomes exhausting when the wider fandom starts treating personal headcanons as absolute, objective law and uses them to attack or psychoanalyze anyone who reads the text differently (mae-lody has been pretty respectful compared to others in my inbox so it's chill).
Fandom should be a space where multiple interpretations can exist side-by-side without it turning into hostility or a battle over who is 'right.'
I agree with you about Jax! I feel like people are also completely ignoring Jax could be queer or gender questioning without downright being trans fem. The thing is we don't know where he falls on the spectrum, we can only go off of his real world person on how he would've lived his life. He could be a man but gender non-conforming and curious about feminine clothing or just a man who is insecure about having a feminine and softer side. Maybe he could be trans but again it's quick to assume it has to be fem or that he'd want she/her pronouns, for all we know he could be nonbinary or genderfuild which frustrates him because he doesn't want to be less of a man just because he sometimes feels like something else, in fact poking at his insecurities of masculinity to decide there's no way he can be a man feels off to me.
I know people should have fun with headcanons and I'm all here for it but as a trans person I personally don't like how insistent people are about she/her pronouning Jax as canon if he has never claimed them in or outside of the circus. I know it's a fictional character but I hate the crack the egg culture surrounding trans people and looking for clues so they call them in egg in denial and push an identity on to them in the name of trying to be supportive, trans people need to decided for themselves what they want to be called but I also understand Jax can't really do that since he abstracted without fully sorting out his issues. Still, it feels like some people miss the point thinking the fix all to Jax's problems is transitioning, he had more issues than that. We don't know enough about him in regards to personal identity, it looks more open to interpretation if anything and kind of a black and white view to say if he's feminine he's automatically for sure trans fem.
I still respect the headcanon and understand people may find comfort in it but I don't like how genuinely hostile some get if others don't see Jax as trans fem... I'm glad you are also expressing your opinion and takes respectfully without saying people cannot see him as trans!
Thank you so much for this reply, you articulated this so beautifully, and I agree with every single word.
You put it perfectly regarding the 'crack the egg' culture. It really frustrates me when people look at a male character who is insecure about his softer, feminine side and immediately decide that means he can't be a man. It inadvertently reinforces the idea that men aren't allowed to have complex, soft, or gender-nonconforming traits without it automatically invalidating their manhood.
While I can see how people lean into the transfem Jax theory, the fragile masculinity angle just makes more sense to me because of how poorly he treats the other women in the show. Frankly, tying a character's blatant misogyny and abusive behavior to a secret trans identity accidentally reproduces some really awful real-world stereotypes about trans women being inherently aggressive or predatory toward cis women. I really wish it wasn't portrayed or rationalized that way in the fandom.
And your point about the narrative is so true, treating transitioning as a simple 'fix-all' totally flattens how deeply rooted and complex Jax's childhood trauma actually was. There was so much more going on beneath the surface. I’m really glad we can have a respectful, nuanced conversation about how open to interpretation the text actually is without the hostility!
