Noches de insomnio y un tabaco
A short comic about loneliness and the bonds that break through it
Gen’s nickname for no-petrification!senku, Baizo, translates to Double (as in the noun). I think most of the others have trouble knowing how to act around Baizo and how to treat him, especially canon-Senku. The others have their own nicknames for him (I’m still working out all the surnames at play) but Gen calls him Baizo specifically as opposed to calling him a clone or other-Senku or ‘hey you’ (courtesy of canon-Senku). He cares about Baizo the same way he cares about ‘his’ Senku.
I’ve always thought that Gen’s life before the petrification must have been quite lonely, and that he wasn’t happy the way he is in the Kingdom of Science, and I think he’s changed enough to recognise that and have compassion for the version of himself that never went through it (wink win nudge nudge Senku). Whether or not there is romantic tension between any versions of Gen and Senku, their relationship has definitely redefined who Gen is and how he sees himself.
