M: My first impression of my costume was, “It’s off-the-shoulder? Then…will the silhouette of my posture correction belt show through the outfit? Will this be okay?” But after we got through the first show, my impression of it changed to, “it’s so light, thank god.” Because the power up form’s costume is a lot lighter and easier to move in than the base form.

Comment: (Regarding pictures of the Max Beat costumes) Did you have time to take any pictures?

M: Not really, so I had to make the time. There’s a 15-minute break between acts 1 and 2, so I went up to the costuming staff and asked if I could wear the outfit to take some pictures then change back once I’m done. The blazer two-shot with Kouga as well, we didn’t have time to take pictures so I asked Raiga if we could change into the school uniforms during the 15-minute break and take pictures together on the roof.

Comment: Did you guys plan them (the adlib) in advance?

M: No we didn’t!

Comment: Sasana also stepped up when (the prompt) was “the one who’s the best at dancing”

M: When I heard that I thought, if we’re talking about the cast then the best dancer amongst us is Ryo-kun. So I turned to Ryo-kun but then everyone turned to me instead and I went, “Oh right! In-universe it’s supposed to be me!” and so I stepped forward. It was so embarrassing.

Dancing Star Precure 3 Pamphlet Cast Interviews

My Bokupre3 goods arrived just as I was watching the livestream of the daisenshuuraku show, so!!!!! To commemorate the finale of the series and also the announcement of Dancing Star ⭐︎ Precure The Stage PARTY, I translated the cast interviews that were included in the pamphlet! (Main Cures only, I’ll translate the rest if I have time)

When do you feel the most “free”?

— When I’m on stage. I feel like when I'm on stage, there's nothing I have to fear. Everyone here, regardless of age, gender, or background, is ready to challenge themselves to anything in order to make the script interesting. Anything is possible. Imagining that is so fun, it really makes me free.

Any promises or memories you can never forget?

— The opening performance of the first stage. I will always remember the excitement I felt after we finished the first act, even though it’s been so long since then.

If you could say one thing to your character, what would it be?

— Thank you for everything. At first, I had my worries about how things would go, but I’m so glad I trusted this production and my character. Let’s place a crown on our glory together.

A message to the audience, please.

— This is the final chapter of BokuPre, and we were able to come this far because of the support we received from everyone. Thank you so much. And I can’t thank everyone on the staff team enough for their support. I will also fulfill my role this time; I will never back down. I want to create a good performance for the sake of the work itself, and for everyone who supports it. Thank you for everything. Please enjoy.

When do you feel the most “free”?

— When I’m immersed in something without having to worry about deadlines. Whenever I’m watching a movie or dancing, sometimes I’ll accidentally treat them as inputs for my next project. So, I like the moments I get to spend doing things I love without having to worry about anything.

Any promises or memories you can never forget?

— The time a friend from my school days told me “hurry up and become famous already!” is still lingering in my mind. I think those words might be the reason why I never want to give up no matter what hardships I face.

If you could say one thing to your character, what would it be?

— Thank you for entrusting me with this.

A message to the audience, please.

— Please support BokuPre until the very end. Along with my friends, I will run full speed ahead.

Morita Touya (Tsukimiya Sasana / Cure Soul)

When do you feel the most “free”?

— I feel the most free when I’m riding around on my motorbike without any particular destination. Listening to my favorite songs while choosing which roads to take along the way really puts me at ease. Rather than being freed from something, enjoying the "here and now" is what freedom really means to me.

Any promises or memories you can never forget?

— It’s become sort of like a tradition to meet up with friends I’ve worked with in the past on a certain day every year. It’s nothing special, but when we meet up, our conversations flow so naturally about the old days and what we’re up to now. As an adult, I feel like times like these are so precious, and I end up looking forward to this meetup every year.

If you could say one thing to your character, what would it be?

— Thank you for always being with me. Sasana, you’re admired by everyone as the club leader, but deep inside you’ve been carrying so much loneliness and isolation. With all your strengths and weaknesses, no matter what, I’ll always be on your side, Sasana. Surely you’ll have to face more challenges and difficult decisions in the future too, but I’ll always respect, reassure, and cheer you on. No matter what path you choose, it’ll be okay. I hope you continue to make lots of wonderful memories with everyone in the dance club.

A message to the audience, please.

— Thank you so much for your continuous support of BokuPre. I consider the time I got to spend with my colleagues and Sasana to be my precious treasures. This time, too, I will stand on stage with these memories close to my heart. I believe this work is only complete when the stage and the audience become one. Terasaka Raiga (Tengen Kouga / Cure Kagura)

When do you feel the most “free”?

— Surprising moments when I end up thinking, “is this a thing?!” I was surprised by how many ways you can “put things into words” when you learn about a new concept or something that’s outside of your knowledge, whether it’s in the way you consume visual or stage works, or in your daily conversations. Of course, there are rules and preexisting ways to do this, but I really feel a sense of freedom in these moments, and I feel like my worldview has expanded. Learning isn’t just about studying, but also knowing; it’s never-ending.

Any promises or memories you can never forget?

— The day before I came to Tokyo, I had yakitori with my dad. I decided I’ll only have one drink because I needed to get up early the next morning; I only had one beer. My dad’s homemade yakitori was so delicious, and the way he poured his heart into it made me feel like I had to do my best out there, too. As I was overwhelmed with those feelings, he told me “you did decide you’re gonna do your best, after all.” It was like an unforgettable promise and it became a memory that keeps me going.

If you could say one thing to your character, what would it be?

— I’m so glad Tengen Kouga was the one who made Terasaka Raiga a Precure; thank you!!!!

A message to the audience, please.

— Thank you for coming to our performance! I’ve transformed into multiple other heroes before, but I feel like nothing captures the sparkle of youth and the changes you experience in life more than Precure does. BokuPre lets you experience both of those at the same time. To give everyone who came to our show, anyone who might be reading this, even the smallest glimmer of hope. To make the world even the slightest bit brighter after watching our show. For the cast, staff, and all of the fans who gave me my strength; I’ll deliver the most passionate performance I can, so I’ll be in your care! Lastly..... Let’s Dance, Hi!!!

When do you feel the most “free”?

— I feel free when I get to sleep a ton during my only break after a long work day.

Any promises/memories you can never forget?

— The reason why I got into the entertainment industry was because I wanted to give back to my family! I’ll never forget about those feelings. I feel like I haven’t repaid my family yet, so I’ll continue to do my best from now on, too!

If you could say one thing to your character, what would it be?

— I was asked whether I was a dog person or a cat person and I said dog, but Maito-kun likes cats, so I want to ask him, “Do you like dogs~?” ! I feel like we’d be able to see a new side of Maito-kun!

A message to the audience, please.

— BokuPre has finally reached its climax. We were able to come this far because of your support! Until the very very end, I’ll enjoy the world of Precure, as a Precure and as Maito-kun! I’m looking forward to seeing you at the theater!

Not sure if anyone has translated this yet but in honor of Dancing Star Precure 3, I translated the stage’s main theme, “Do the Dancing ⭐︎ Star Precure”!

As far as I’m aware the official lyrics for this song have not been released publicly yet, so I mostly went by ear. Please let me know if there are any mistakes !

*Here, the three words used are 妬み 嫉み and 怨み which all means envy/resentment but in different contexts

妬み = being envious/jealous, with the feelings leaning towards anger

嫉み = being envious, leaning towards hatred and also frustration. 嫉み isn’t normally used alone but as a set 妬み嫉み instead (according to my JPN teacher!)

怨み = feeling resentment for how others treated you

**炎上 means getting heavily criticized or stormed by internet mobs, so I translated it as getting “flamed” to keep it concise

***Kept “oshi” as it is since a lot of people use the romanized version of this word anyways but for those who don’t know, 推し/oshi means your favorite character/member of a group/etc.

Tetora: The only thing that's still clear in my heart is the memory of walking home bouncing that water balloon. I just remembered how much fun it was to spend the summer festival with my family.

Hinata: I see. So that's why you—

Tetora: Ahaha. I don't know if that's why or not myself, either.

Tetora: I just want everyone to have fun and smile, too...

Q. Since there might be people reading this who've never heard of UPROAR!! before, please introduce yourself.

— I’m Utsugi Uyu, a Phantom Thief and cafe manager!

My activities mostly involve streaming games, especially horror games. I don’t get scared easily, so anyone who wants to enjoy watching horror games, please drop by!

Q. To you, what kind of unit is UPROAR!!?

— We’re a group of friends who can be ourselves with each other and engage in friendly competition.

I think it’s normal to only show our good sides to people, but it’s okay to show our not-so-good sides as well.

I believe a place like this is irreplaceable.

Q. As a Phantom Thief, what’s something you always keep in mind? Please tell us about your arts.

— I don’t steal because I want the thing, I steal because I think I deserve it.

I wouldn’t call it an “art,” but it’s something I always keep in mind.

Q. What do you think is your number one charm point?

— My face, probably! (lol)

Q. If you were to compare yourself to an animal, what would you be?

— I always get assigned dogs on personality tests, so probably a dog?

Q. What’s your favorite food?

— Chocolate!

Q. Is there anything you absolutely can’t deal with?

— Those black, rustling thingies…probably…

Q. You released your first song cover in June, but do you have plans to release another cover after this?

— Yes!

Actually, I plan on releasing single chorus mixes of some songs I did for practice as well as covers I didn’t originally plan on publicizing through memberships and such.

Q. Any games you’ve been interested in recently?

— “Splatoon 3” that’s releasing this September! I really love this game even though I’m not that good at it, and I’m looking forward to seeing the changes and new weapons they’ve added since Splatoon 2!

Q. Any media you’ve been interested in recently?

— Mushoku Tensei that’s getting a second season next year.

I already love the original work, but this series is so powerful that a new production studio was established during the production of the first anime season.

This work has an amazing plot, artwork, music, and everything else, and I’m very interested to see the second season of it.

Q. What’s your current obsession?

— Sauna!

Q. What’s something that made you laugh the most recently?

— The four of us UPROAR!! played a horror game together, and everyone was screaming so genuinely that I laughed a lot (lol)

Q. Please tell us about a recent “god-sent” moment on stream that you want everyone to see.

— My scream during UPROAR!!’s Devour collab.

Up until now I don’t really scream during horror games, but this time I seriously screamed, so I think seeing a usually quiet person genuinely scream can definitely be considered a “god-sent” moment.

Q. Please tell us your feelings when your first show “Jump UPROAR!!” was confirmed.

— I was so moved that I was speechless.

I almost cried a little when I felt the combination of happiness of getting our own show and excitement for what’s to come, but that’s a secret (lol)

Q. What are some highlights from the show?

— Us being like lively school boys.

The four of us who are like school boys are growing as idols through the show…I think that’s the highlight.

Q. What did you feel at that moment when you were suddenly taken to bungee jumping?

— I internally yelled “this is the stuff I see on variety TV shows!”

I already love heights and thrill seeking and I watched a lot of TV, especially variety shows when I was a kid so I was psyched!

Q. Utsugi-san had so much fun bungee jumping even though it came out of nowhere. Did your feelings towards it change before and after jumping?

— I had fun all throughout.

I thought I’d jump more than once, but then my feelings changed when I was being pulled up and the equipment unexpectedly hurt my crotch, so I gave up on jumping again!

Q. What did you feel when you came on top during the game of chivalrous rock-paper-scissors?

— Honestly, I thought I was pretty lucky!

Even though it’s not exactly bungee, I’ve always liked jumping down from high places, so I thought I’d put pressure on the others by jumping without any hesitation!

I’d be really happy if you could check out the bungee jumping video to find out how the other members reacted after I jumped!

Q. Your bungee oath was “the four of us will reach the top!” But what kind of challenges would you like to take on together with the four of you?

— This also includes bungee jumping, but I want to try more things that Vtubers usually can’t do, like outdoor shoots just like “Jump UPROAR!!”

And in the process, I want to entertain the people watching us and show them our growth as idols!
