this might sound really dumb, but, AU where instead of betting to get his life back, Manolo just wants to go and help save San Angel from Chakal, and say goodbye to Maria, so when he gets there, Joaquin and Maria are freaking out because "holy shit skeleton Manolo???" and then in the end La Muerte and Xibalba bring him back to life anyway because Xibalba is actually a giant softy, but after Joaquin and Maria have to deal with skeleton!Manolo, and what that means.
