Over on the Twitter, Jackson has confirmed the news that Venture Bros. was cancelled, which includes the in-progress season eight:

Unfortunately, it’s true: #VentureBros has been canceled. We got the highly disappointing news a few months ago, while we were writing what would have been season 8. We thank you, our amazing fans, for 17 years of your kind (and patient) attention. And, as always, We Love You.

However, Adult Swim has responded to the outcry with some small glimmer of hope:

We also want more Venture Bros. and have been working with Jackson and Doc to find another way to continue the Venture Bros. story.

What this may turn into remains to be seen of course, but it's possible the the show at least gets a proper sendoff in some format or another. Stay tuned!

For those of you who want a hard copy of Venture Bros. season 7, it was released in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats a few days ago (June 4th, to be precise)! Sorry for missing the exact date! However, head over to you favorite purveyor of digital video discs and grab a copy. Over on Amazon they can be had for $18.99 for the DVD version and $24.99 for the Blu-Ray.

If you're in the US or can otherwise pretend you are then the second episode of season seven is up on Adult Swim's website. You can now stream "The Rorqual Affair" at your leisure. The episode will of course air at midnight this Sunday night if you prefer to watch The Venture Bros. the traditional way, but that's entirely up to you. Do what feels right.

Adult Swim has been kind enough to stream the Venture Bros. season premiere online. Probably only if you're in the US, sorry, but still. The episode is called "The Venture Bros. & the Curse of the Haunted Problem" and if you don't have time to watch it on your computer you'll be able to catch it on the night of Sunday, August 5th at midnight! If you can watch it now though... you can do that.

Much like the recent teaser, only with new and exciting content, the trailer for season seven of The Venture Brothers was released a few days ago. The season promises all the usual action, excitement, laughs, and whatever other emotions you want to be able to achieve from a television show.

As noted, season seven starts on the night of August 5th, with the episodes airing at midnight.

Adult Swim released a teaser for season 7 of Venture Bros. which is just a clip from an episode but includes official confirmation that season 7 starts midnight on August 5th! Anyway I know you're only here for the video so check it out.

Over at io9 there's an interview with our beloved Jackson Publick by the indispensable Evan Narcisse. Along with some insights into the show and info on the long promised upcoming art book (which defintely exists!) there's also some previews from the book and a small amount of art from season seven.

But yeah, we grew this underground audience and yeah, nerd culture just exploded. So, it’s vindication and just knowing, "Okay, none of this is over anybody’s heads." And, you know, everybody had the internet anyway, so they can Wikipedia anything we mention. But that’s been kind of amazing. When we did the first live-action Tick, that was a big stumbling block. The network was like, "I don’t know about all this superhero stuff..." [Those reactions] are probably a bigger deal when you’re making a multi-million dollar show for a network, then your little late night cartoon for a largely stoner audience.

Forbes has an interview with Titmouse head honcho, Chris Prynoski which mostly goes into info on the studio and all it's producing. However, there's one relevant tidbit at the end:

And as to rumors of a highly-anticipated return of The Venture Bros? Team Titmouse was tight-lipped in the interview, but Adult Swim has confirmed the new season will be out this summer.

So there you go! Summer is just around the corner, so now it's just a matter of when and how much Venture Bros. we'll have. Get ready!

Looks like Venture Bros. will be returning for a seventh season! I don't recall hearing much about the show not being under consideration for renewal, but it's nice to have official word of it. It's also safe to assume you don't need to hold your breath waiting for it. Based on the production schedule for the most recent season the premiere is likely not going to happen until 2018 at earliest, but we're likely looking at some time in 2019. That's still a ways off, but it's something to look forward to. Thanks to Thorn and MoosyMooz for sending this in!

In case you didn't hear, season six of Venture Bros. finished up last night. Did you catch every episode? If you didn't, I have some good news: it will be re-airing all this week, starting tonight at 1am (eastern/pacific, adjust accordingly for your own timezone) on Adult Swim. You can also check out the extra-special, hour-long "All This And Gargantua-2" this upcoming Sunday night at 12:30am. After that, next Thursday night (March 31st) becomes Throwback Thursday and you can re-watch season one in all its non-HD, kinda badly animated glory. Still not satisfied? Then head over to Adult Swim's Venture Bros. video page where you can watch the first five episodes of season six and "Gargantua-2" for free! No questions asked. You can also check out "A Party For Tarzan" and "Red Means Stop" if you have a cable provider login (or a generous friend who has one). That should hold you over until season seven, right?
