What is a job coach Anyways??

A works with an individual who has been deemed significantly disabled and who is eligible for VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) services as mandated by the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1986.  I provide support for the consumer in the rehabilitation process to help in the end result of them attaining and maintaining employment in an integrative setting. My job allows me to wear so many "hats" I never know what is going to happen in my day to day, but, I am along for the ride.

I, enabling eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to prepare for, achieve and maintain competitive employment.

I am currently attending graduate school at the University of South Carolina at Columbia working towards my MA in Rehabilitation Counseling and becoming Psychiatric certified. It is tough.  I would a full 40 hour week shift (sometimes more if a client needs me.  So, yes.  Sometimes even with a "big girl" job, ya gotta work nights and weekends too.) and I somehow manage to find time to be a full time student as well as balance other aspects in my life. I am in a very fulfilling and simulating relationship with a man I adore, who empowers me and believes in me every step of the way.  I am dedicated. thoughtful. hard working. and damn proud.
