I told you already.
"…An apology doesn’t mean anything if you don’t mean it."
"That doesn't answer my question."
I told you already.
Hesitantly enough she sat down, gently touching her bruised lip to see if it was still bleeding. “Yes, all of a sudden,” she retorted. “One minute you act like I’m the last person you want to see, and then the next you’re binding my wounds.”
"Is apologizing now going to make a difference for you?"
I told you already.
She looked away, her jaws tightened. “It’s nothing. I don’t see why you’re so worried all of a sudden.”
"All of a sudden?" Although his tone was a bit a rude, he still gestured for Pleione to sit down while he pulled out a first aid kit from the back of a closet.
"What? Is that such a horrible idea?"
"Didn't you hate the idea the other day?"
"Then I guess we can just lick it off." She waggled her brows.
"I'll pass."
I told you already.
"I fell," she shrugged. "Slipped on some rocks by the shore."
"You're lying."
"My sister says I need more men in my life. So… what do you think?"
"I am bleeding, Atlas! It’s in the Gods rule book that you must now kiss it and make it better!"
"You feel into a bush covered in berries, I know that's not blood."
"And why shouldn't I trust him?"
"He was more of a father to me than anyone ever tried to be."
"That— that’s all you got for me…? All this time without talking and all you’ve got is ‘fine’."
"Yes."
"Just fine?"
"Yes."
"My necklace," she answered quietly. She was too stubborn to admit that she’d come to check up on him, but it was pretty obvious Atlas wasn’t buying it. "… and maybe I wanted to see how you were doing?"
"I'm fine."
"Well, I’ll leave you to continue… whatever it is you were doing," she smiled sheepishly. "Oh, and you should probably think about cleaning the closet up a bit. It looks like a war zone— and don’t forget to water the plants. O-or do, I mean they’re just plants I guess…"
"Yeah, I’m just gonna go."
Part of him wanted to tell her to stay, if she wanted to at least. He knew Pleione, she didn't come here for a necklace. "What did you want?"
Why do you always look so angry, Atlas?
"Is that how you start a conversation nowadays?"
