The motorcycle sputtered to a stall at a red light. He shrugged his shoulders. This conversation was never easy, but it was better to rip the bandaid off than to beat around the bush. “Katia moved out.” Clipped and to the point. As soon as the light turned green, he sped off again.

“Whoa–!” Denise’s grip around him turned potentially crushing as the bike flew forward, the sudden speed unexpected and unlike anything within her comfort zone. “Uh– you didn’t think of going for a massage to do that? Try something less Too Fast, Too Furious?”

Marcel laughed a little at her comment, and eased up on the pace a little bit. “No but I might have to skip the masseuse and go straight to a doctor now that you just squished my ribs.”
