It's never like the movies. You're gone in an instant. Let's go back to square one, then.

Still for me, some days are happy and some days are sad; some days are wonderful and some days are terrible. Indeed some days I am grateful to be alive, but some days, to be perfectly honest, I am not. I am a certain kind of human, and these are my uncertain kind-of-truths. If there is anything we can count on in all of our human experiences however it is that our lives will contain sorrow and sufferings; what you do with yours is up to you. But life, however you think of it, is part of the time, difficult. Disappointments, failure, loss, grief, heartbreak, change and challenges; our only reprieve, death. There is a certain dark humor in the way life happens and the way it ends; you struggle at least part of the time while you breathe, and that your final reward is that you stop breathing entirely. What else is there to do but laugh?

Happy 1st Birthday, Fluffy! 1-20-2016 You turned 1 today which reminds me of a little favor I did. A sense of maturity and strength. A daily reminder that I am after all, human. One thing I can surely say though, thank you Universe! You made every bit of being stuck in the haywire worthwhile. And as I may quote from a book I have read: "Our personal happiness is always at the whim of our own self-sabbotage if, at any given moment, we mistake this for genuine dissatisfaction or unhappiness. I think we are so far from accepting that happiness is not a sustained sensation of joy that sometimes, we're happier than we think we are. Happiness means interest, it means honing in on the art of learning to just be. Sometimes we're doing this and we don't even realize it and we let our minds talk us out of our own contentment with petty complaints and minor issues that we irrationally expound upon. Part of getting over is coming to terms with the little ways our lives show us we're happy even if we're not conscious of it."

Can you put these into words? Yes, me too. I can't.

Today, I got left by the plane because it was rescheduled on an earlier time than the ones I booked and was informed. So I shell out a thousand more bucks just to push this through. I am forcing myself to believe that this all happened out of pure luck and what better way to start my first ever Sinulog than to get pissed, eh?
