kind of annoys me when people write one of the characters becoming a brimhat as like. theyve suddenly lost their morals or theyre 'evil' now. i think we forget that the MAIN goal of the brims is to make all magic and knowledge available to everyone, which is a noble goal. its just that the methods of some to achieve that goal are dubious. the reason becoming a brimhat is portrayed negatively in the manga is because tends to align with a character completely losing hope with a deeply biased system and following the footsteps of brimhats who have specifically done dubious things (custas, almost coco). but its not like being a brimhat INHERENTLY makes you evil. olruggio for example (a popular choice) isnt just gonna suddenly start torturing people because he pokes around into forbidden magic

#the whole reason why brim oru is compelling to me is that he wouldn't be very different from canon #having brim = evil is missing the very very very obvious point the story is making lol
