"Go on, sit down," Leon said, noticing how Marcus was looking down to the bed.

It’s been boring without you here. For a second, Leon felt a tinge of guilt. He didn’t want Marcus going out too often, in fear that the Fitzpatrick kid was going to steal him. But at least the android didn’t really feel bored. “Do you need to go to school with me more? I can’t buy another android just to be your friend.”

Marcus sat down on the bed, facing Leon, his legs folded. His eyes lit up at the idea of going to work with Leon. It would definitely be something his programming did not prepare him for. But it would be exciting nonetheless. He wanted to help Leon as much as he could, but he couldn't really do that when he was stuck at home. "Is that okay?" He asked. "What would I do if I was there?"

Leon enjoyed the fact that someone actually listened to him, and that someone actually reacted to his scolding. Lately, no one seemed to be bothered by his bitching, causing more frustration than not. He allowed the android to lift him up, adjusting himself on the bed when he was put down.

Looking at Marcus’s face, he couldn’t help but stare. He lucked out to get some decent looking android at such a discount — even if there were glitches that he had to deal with. “Talk to me. Tell me what you did today,” he ordered, wanting to feel some kind of connection with someone. If it meant hearing what his android did, then it would have to do.

Marcus noticed the staring and glanced away, and his cheeks turned red. Staring made people uncomfortable, so he had to show that. “Nothing much, really. I cleaned up a bit. Scrubbed down the bath. Took a bit since it’s been a while since it’s been scrubbed down,” he said, beginning to recognize that what he had to say was not all that interesting. He shifted his stance, looking at the bed as if asking to sit down. “It’s been boring without you here. There’s not much for me to do. No one for me to talk to or anything.”

Leon groaned loudly — and dramatically, of course — when his android asked if he was hurt or not. If he was a human, the teacher would have cussed him out for being so blind and stupid. But it was a robot that was still learning. God, that still frustrated him. “I need your fucking help,” he snapped, pushing himself up to a seated position. “Get me on the bed. Now.”

Marcus recoiled slightly in response to the scolding. That seemed like an appropriate response to loud voices and harsh words. "O-of course," Marcus stammered before leaning forward to wrap his arms around Leon's waist and lift him up onto the bed with relative ease. He took a step back as soon he was done to let Leon take care of the rest. "I-is there anything else I can do for you?"

While it had been a few months since he was thrown into the paralyzed ‘life style’, but that didn’t make it any easier to do anything that he wanted. Things that were normally a breeze became nearly impossible to complete.

Tonight, he had a bit of a struggle of getting into his bed, ending up getting stuck on the ground out of reach of his chair. It was miserable, it was embarrassing, and he didn’t exactly have the upper body strength to pull himself up yet. So he cursed loudly, laying on his back on the floor.

"In here," Leon called out, already feeling the embarrassment. The android couldn’t judge him, but that didn’t make it any less embarrassing.

Marcus made his way to the bedroom and poked his head in to observe Leon on the floor and the chair pushed away from him, presumably from the impact of falling. He approached carefully, scanning Leon quickly for injuries before crouching down beside him. "You're not hurt? Do you need my help?" He always needed to ask first. He knew it was an important part of Leon's adjustment to be able to do things on his own. But a little help never hurt anyone.

Marcus got caught up running errands tonight, since there was a lot of traffic coming home. He told Leon not to wait up until he got home, since he was sure the man would be able to take care of himself for at least a little while. So, when he came into the house, he didn't expect to be needed so suddenly. He locked the door behind him, carrying a tote bag of a number of different things from the different shops he went to that evening and put it on the counter. It was dark inside, so he flicked on the light, figuring his owner was already asleep and wouldn't notice if the light in the kitchen was turned on.

However, Marcus perked up when he heard struggling down the hall. He figured since he didn't have any perishables, he could unpack later. He was needed. "Leon?" He asked, making his way down the hallway into the bedroom.

"Oh, so you do have plans on being used intimately? I wish you the best in that, Marcus," Ruby told him, with a big smile on her face. She was less worried about being found out as an android — most parents of her students already knew that she was one. They seemed to like her, but it was most likely just the highly outgoing and kind settings that she had. "I am used almost every night by Mr. Fitzpatrick."

Marcus' cheeks turned red, simulating a blush, "Well, I mean...he hasn't suggested that...but I dunno. I wouldn't mind being used that way if he asked." It wasn't like Marcus wanted to bone Leon at all. He was an android, so he technically couldn't have those feelings. But it wouldn't be an inconvenience if it came up. It wouldn't interfere with his functions either. If Leon required him to get close like that in order to provide better care, then he'd oblige.

"It doesn't get in the way of your work?"

"I can only hope that your job will be done well and his transition to a wheelchair is easy," Ruby said. Before suddenly tensing up. The fall was causing more hiccups in her system, especially because she hadn’t been completely fixed up by Veda. Harold only wanted the cosmetic features done, in order to get her back to his usage as fast as possible.

She found herself frozen, her machinery trying to reboot itself. “O— Oh. I hope that your job will be done well,” she repeated, not realizing that she was doing so. “And that his transition to a wheelchair is easy. Does he use you intimately?”

Marcus noticed Ruby's glitching and repeating of phrases, but he decided not to point it out. He knew drawing attention to them would only make it more obvious to others in the store that they were androids and not humans. Sometimes that could be negative attention, and he was told not to get into trouble. Instead, he just answered her question. "Intimately? No. Not yet."

Ruby followed Marcus into the topic change, establishing that the other android didn’t wish to talk about it any longer. “I know Leon Burne. I am also a teacher there. Why would he require you to be a caretaker?” Ruby asked, curious. She understood why Finn would need one, but Leon? He was perfectly capable of taking care of himself, despite being in a wheelchair. “Is he suffering from something?”

"My understanding is he's still getting accustomed to the wheelchair," Marcus explained, shifting his gaze to the tomatoes sitting in the display behind her. "So he needs a little help getting around the house, grabbing things he can't reach, helping him in and out of the shower." He also monitored the basics, his health, diet, and any other needs he had. But he didn't feel the need to get into details with her. "It's difficult for a lot of people to transition to wheelchairs. I'm there to help him with that and relieve some of the stress."

"Oh, but it is a new name Marcus. You were once part of my family," Ruby explained, remembering the conversation that she had with Veda. They wiped his memory completely, just so that none of the Fitzpatrick’s information could somehow leak. Ruby wondered if the same thing would ever happen to her, if she was going to be shut down, or what her future was going to be like.

"My name is Ruby Fitzpatrick, I am from the Fitzpatrick house. Finn used to be your owner, previously. I help care for him now, along with a new android. Where are you living now?"

Marcus wasn't convinced that Ruby was correct, since he had absolutely no memory of those events. She was mistaken, but he wasn't going to pursue that topic anymore. There wasn't much of a point to it anyway. "I live with Leon Burne. He's a teacher at the high school. I'm his caretaker and assistant."

Adjusting to ‘life’ after shutting down with a literal crash against her will was something that Ruby was having trouble with. Sometimes it would be difficult for her to say the right phrase, giving out the answer to a question that was asked hours ago instead of the one right then. She couldn’t slouch her shoulders occasionally, sometimes she would just stop in a doorway while her processors tried to figure out what she was doing there.

To ease her owner’s frustration with her malfunctioning before the weekly visit from Veda, she was sent out to buy groceries. The list of things to buy was short, but it was no doubt going to take her long enough to let Harold relax a bit.

The grocery store was where she saw him. Luis. Her stolen brother. As much as she enjoyed the company of Veda and the weekly checkups that she had with them, the constant mention of them stealing Luis was starting to effect how she actually understood what happened when they got rid of him.

She walked up to him, keeping a proper upright stance as she held out her hand to shake his. ”Good morning,” the android said to him. “May I ask you what your new name is?”

Leon sent Marcus out to get some groceries, something to keep him busy while Leon was away at work, shaping young minds and stuff like that. His owner had given him a list to follow, but since Marcus was a nurse android, his goal was to make Leon healthy, so he felt it was necessary to make some amendments. So, he was in the vegetable section when another android approached him. He was able to tell right away, not from the way she carried herself, but from the immediate handshake of code fed to him.

He looked her up and down before smirking at her. "It's not a new name. But it's Marcus."
