My Music
Hello everyone. Maggie Wallace is my name and I am currently a student of the BA in Irish Music and Dance at the Irish World Academy in the University of Limerick. I have been playing music for many years now, with my main focus being on Irish traditional music. My main instrument is the tin whistle, which I am fairly competent in playing. I also play the mandolin. As part of my course, I am learning to play the fiddle and the keyboard also. I am lucky ibecause I have top class tutors- famous irish traditional musicians such as Majella Bartley, Eileen O' Brien, and Geraldine Cotter. I work very hard at my playing and my main aim is to improve my standard of playing and be the best I can possibly be. I play at music sessions around Athlone(my home town) and Limerick where I am in college. I have recently started to give music lessons around Athlone. I teach beginner banjo mandolin and tin whistle, and intermediate tin whistle and mandolin. I charge ten euro, for a one on one lesson lasting 40 minutes. I am very passionate about the music and I hope this comes across in my teaching. I hope to start gigging soon also. I set up this page to try to promote the music lessons and to promote the music that I play. Have a listen to the recordings, and if you're living in around the Athlone or Castletroy,Limerick area, and are interested in lessons, please do not hesitate to contact me! Music is a journey, and it's never too late to start learning! Talk soon :)
