On the 12th day of January 2000, a bouncing baby girl was born and was destined to meet the world. She was innocently ecstatic, bursting into tears as a newborn, and her parents couldn’t be more grateful to have her as their daughter. As she turned eighth months, her parents were in disbelief for she had to deal with a serious medical condition called intussusception — a form of bowel obstruction in which one segment of the intestine telescopes inside of another. She was in a 50-50 situation during that time and the doctors did not provide any assurance for her to live when she had to undergo a surgical operation.
The baby girl was you.
Yes, you. Luckily, here you are. You made it. Your life started after such a tragic incident. In an early age like that, you are already a survivor. What a precious privilege it is for you to be alive. You have a purpose and it is yet to be discovered.
But brace yourself because it’s going to be one heck of a roller coaster ride.
Anxiety and the ‘new normal’
Growing up, you are this girl who is full of fears. You are afraid of anything that might put you in danger and you are terrified of the uncertainty. Diving deeper, your big fear is not knowing what the future holds. And I‘m sure a lot of people can relate.
This fear was especially present when the COVID-19 pandemic began. The world seems to have ground to a halt because of the virus. As a fearful person, this is such a big deal. In retrospect, conditions created by the pandemic were taking a psychological toll. You were full of anxieties that you even experience panic attacks. Remember how difficult it was when you couldn’t sleep? And how overthinking consumed you for months? You were drowning in pain and fright and you never knew when it will be over. You were stressed about so many things: your health if ever you and your loved ones catch the virus, the mental agony it creates, your education when setbacks and transitions happened, the stress of what this year would be like, the postponed travels, and all the uncertainty. Anxiety bugged you for too long. It took all your strength.
Think about where you were earlier last year. You were in your second year in college. Just before the world slowed down, you were just a typical college student who tries her best to go through the day of university life. Back then, you were kilometers away from home which required you to rent a dormitory. On weekdays, you basically had a routine – waking up as the sun rises, getting ready for school, wearing your neatly ironed uniform and taking a short commute when going to school. Having meaningful lessons, small talks during the breaks with your friends, exchanging information with your professors, and learning day by day made the regular jiffs worth it. Later on, the pandemic took place. It felt as if the world stopped. Everything changed in a split second. Over the past few months, you’ve experienced an unprecedented shift in your way of life due to COVID-19. Coping up with the transition from face-to-face to online classes wasn’t easy.
The journey you’ve been through was on a rugged terrain and so full of ups and downs. You were stuck at home juggling chores, classes and your side hustle, content creation. It seemed so difficult to adjust; there was a change in the situation of class’ atmosphere, you struggled with time-management and self-motivation along the way, workload is way larger than regular classes, barriers occur such as bad internet service, power interruptions and so on. Not to mention creating content when you are not at your best. All these left you in a crucial spot.
Challenges as the virus came closer
It was in the month of March when you found out that your grandmother, 72 years old, tested positive for COVID-19. Much to your disbelief, you were scared to death. It felt as if a thorn got pricked in your heart. Your grandma means so much to you. She is such a remarkable woman. A heart like hers would give so unselfishly. She’s a combination of love and laughter. The thought of losing her is painful to handle.
Fortunately, she was asymptomatic. But we never knew what might happen in a snap.
The pandemic is impacting everyone. And your family wasn’t an exception. It meant making big changes in everyday routines and raised anxiety in every household member. The alarming numbers gave you a picture of how deadly the virus is. It’s killing people on a large scale. So much about the virus is out of your control. Not just the virus itself but all other aspects of life.
Time often makes you play the waiting game. It quickly passes by when you want it to stay still, but doesn’t seem to tick at all when you want it to hurry up. At this point, you are deeply hoping that the pandemic comes to an end.
Disastrous encounters
In the early morning of November 1, 2020, Super Typhoon Rolly (International name, Goni), made its first landfall in the Philippines in Bicol – with catastrophic winds of up to 280 kilometers per hour and torrential rainfall. Reading about the weather update, you began to ponder how tormenting it is to deal with such predicament: super typhoon in time of pandemic.
That’s two disasters in a row.
Can you recall waking up to howling winds and heavy-pouring rains? Of course you could. It was almost seven o’clock in the morning. Windows were intensely rattling in the wind. Some were even shattering. You were in your room full of worries, wondering when the catastrophe will end as your door started to tremble caused by the blustery weather. You immediately got up and went to your parents’ room. Your little brothers were still asleep. Your mom was securing some of your belongings and your dad wasn’t there so you looked for him outside through peeking by the window. You spotted him taking his good ‘ole motorcycles out of the garage and transferring those in the front gate. As you saw that the flood started to rise, you ran into your room and packed all of your things in plastic bags. As you finish, you prepared for breakfast. There were drizzles from the kitchen windows due to the gushing rain. Picking up new door mats was your idea but just then, the flood water began to enter. You tried to mop it out at first until it became too much too handle. It was not just a wet floor anymore. You continued to put everything on high places of the house. You weren’t sure whether the flood is going to reach above the ankle as usual but as several minutes or so passed, the water started to reach the knees and outside the house, the water reached the thighs of an average person.
It was a great relief that you were living in a two-storey house, but the second floor was usually untouched and unoccupied, and at that exceptional moment, it was your only safe refuge. That isolated part of the house had to be cleaned first so you and your brothers had to wait sitting on the stairs for the meantime. Almost everything was a bit slippery and taking a few steps to the stairs, your mom accidentally slid and fell on her buttocks, leaving her semi-injured with a small wound on the heel. Aching in pain, there she was as your anxiety began to escalate with everything that was happening.
It was past 12 o’clock during noon as the rain lie low and the strong winds stopped. Meanwhile, flood water kept entering the house. It even reached your bed. The unprecedented intensity of the calamity made the water rise so high. Other appliances were soaked in flood water. You all tried to secure everything in the house, but the sight of flood-affected area was horrible.
It seemed such a cruel irony that while battling the pandemic, a disaster as strong as Rolly made repercussions to your family and other families. It was such a struggle to recover from the losses. Some appliances were broken and your dad’s piggery was devastated. The agricultural damage it also brought to the small rice field your dad was handling affected your finances. The calamity knocked out mobile phone services, uprooted trees and destroyed critical infrastructures. The neighboring towns, particularly those which are near Mayon Volcano were engulfed in floodwater and volcanic mudflows. How awful! It was a twofold challenge on your concern. You badly want to help but you’re still a jobless student.
Just days after the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly, Typhoon Ulysses roughly crossed the same track and made landfall on November 11. Disaster after disaster. Destruction after destruction – in the midst of a pandemic. It was unbelievable, it was beyond imagination, and all at the same time, dreadful.
Multiple factors contributed to this turnabout. Most of the time, caused by circumstances beyond anybody’s control.
The rise after the fall
When you were in despair, you prayed everyday and kept your faith intact hoping and believing that everything’s going to be all right. You stayed strong when you are at your weakest and you let God move in His mysterious ways. Tomorrow awaits. There is hope. The anxieties were no longer haunting you. You realized that you are doing the best you can, you are letting go of the things you cannot control and you start to focus on things that actually matter. You learned to embrace the uncertainty by accompanying it with faith. Your greatest fears especially the consequences of this pandemic took all your strength but there was redemption. It may be chaotic as it seems but you managed to make it through. The girl who was full of fears is now full of strength.
You survived your online classes, finished the whole semester alongside content creation with new projects coming in, and you adapted to a new reality. The monstrous and unimaginable situation brought by the virus was difficult to deal with but you still took control of what you can actually muster. You learned to manage your time wisely. You created a workspace and followed a study schedule. You made learning a joy. You made content creation a passion. You tried your best in keeping your spirits up for the sake of surpassing all of the hardships.
One afternoon, while you were running errands with your mom, a notification popped. You were informed by a block mate that you are a dean’s lister. Wow. It made your parents proud. You were bursting in bliss. It was totally fulfilling. Memories suddenly flashed back. You remember all the challenges you faced, the hardwork you made and the efforts you poured bore an academic achievement in the midst of the pandemic. It all paid off.
Look at your grandmother. She’s doing well, healthy and is now back to her normal routine. You also get to spend more time with her now. A new tradition for the family was made. Every month, there is a “family day” where joyful memories are created. Being with your family is a blessing, take note of that. Don’t be so busy watching out for what’s ahead of you but rather, enjoy where you are. Never miss any opportunity to spend time with your loved ones.
When two super typhoons as powerful as Rolly and Ulysses both left trails of destruction in your region, it terribly affected many families and your family wasn’t an exception. It struck as the Philippines continues to battle the pandemic. Despite it all, your family recovered. After the previous crops have been ravaged by the merciless storms, the succeeding harvest was a bounty.
Seeing how the super typhoons affected millions of people in eight regions, it made your heart shatter. There was something in you that wanted to lend a helping hand not only to your family but to the community as well. Good thing, an opportunity came. You were asked to be the chairperson in your town for a relief operation called Barya Ni Juan, a movement made by Discover MNL in collaboration with Bicol Bloggers and other Bicolano brands, which provided aid for 1,000 families in 10 Bicolano communities that were gravely affected by Typhoon Rolly and Ulysses. Of course, you accepted the offer without thinking twice. With the help of your friends, you managed to accomplish the mission by distributing 500 peso-worth each relief pack to 100 homes. It may be a small act of kindness but you saw smiles on many faces. It felt gratifying. The greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow.
What a life! You’ve learned that things don’t always turn out the way you planned or the way you think they should. You’ve learned that you can turn pain into power and you can overcome anything that was meant to destroy you. You’ve become patient with yourself and your growth, knowing that good things take time. You fell so many times but you were able to get back up.
Be proud of how far you’ve come – the silent battles you fought, the adversities you faced, the moments you had to wipe your own tears and pat yourself on the back. You’ve gone through the dark side of life but you have gained strength, courage and confidence like no other.
Always remind yourself these:
“I surpassed many challenges.”
“I am capable of everything I set my mind into.”
“I take every setback and use it to my advantage.”
One day, you’ll look back and you’ll tell yourself you are indeed a survivor.
With love and light,
A stronger version of yourself
This story is an entry to ComCo Southeast Asia’s “Write to Ignite Blogging Project Season 2: Dear Survivor”. The initiative continues to respond to the need of our times, as every story comes a long way during this period of crisis. The initiative aims to pull and collate powerful stories from the Philippine blogging communities to inspire the nation to rise and move forward amidst the difficult situation. The “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” Season 2 is made possible by ComCo Southeast Asia, with Eastern Communications and Jobstreet as co-presenters, with AirAsia and Xiaomi as major sponsors, and with Teleperformance as sponsor.
As much as possible, we totally want to be in control of our lives. We take time to manage personal goals which are the big things to work for and accomplish such as receiving a diploma, getting married and having a family, starting our own business, becoming a big-time executive, or traveling the globe and such. These are essentially some of the things we want to do in life and in preparation for that, we plan. There may be small interruptions like atmospherical conditions, heavy traffic or sickness and we're used to it. But in an unexpected instance, in a snap, a pandemic called Coronavirus hit us by surprise and consumed us within months. Worst case scenario: it is a huge interruption everywhere with no specific vaccine.
Everyone has been writing on this and I don't know where to start. When I first heard about Coronavirus, there was a certain fear I felt as if my heart skipped a beat, wondering what repercussions it may create. By researching, I came to understand that it's highly contagious, attacks the respiratory system and no one is an exception especially the immuno-compromised ones. Knowing the fact that there is no cure for this disease heightened up my worries — for myself, my loved ones, my nation and the world.
The world is grippling with an invisible, deadly enemy. I had a feeling that it will be one heck of a ride. This pandemic got me feeling a roller coaster of emotions. I was not in my comfort zone. I had a lot of what-ifs. Before quarantine started, usual activities were still allowed despite having early cases in the country so I couldn’t help being paranoid at school, while commuting, while going to the mall and going outside with no choice but to be exposed to a lot of people which made me totally anxious and wonder "what if I get the virus" so, I did the best ways possible not to catch it. I sanitized every now and then, did limit interactions, took vitamins, used face mask and became extra careful when going out. After school, in the dorm where I stay, I really make sure to keep my health in check so I wash my hands, eat and sleep properly. Let me just say that living a little away from home sucks especially when there's a sudden global virus. I had to take care of everything myself. I was longing for security. I just wished I could go home.
There was a time back then when I really had a hard time sleeping that I fell asleep at 4 o'clock in the morning so it led to overthinking and unwanted panic attacks. Fears abound. Such uncertainty. How long will it last? What if I get sick since I lack sleep? What will happen next? Worries kept rippling because aside from these, there were school requirements to fufill, an overall health to watch and uncertain future to come so it was absolutely tough for me and took a toll on my mental health.
Days before ECQ was imposed, it was another day full of worries and not being in control. Classes were suspended due to more cases detected. So I packed my luggage, took a 1-hour ride to get home and finally be with my family. It felt good to walk into our doorstep but even if quarantine was imposed, oh God, my worries didn’t fade. Fear and anxiety were still present. During the first week of ECQ, I still got panic attacks and sleep issues. I was deeply overwhelmed. That’s why I willingly shared my thoughts to my go-to person, my mom. It's been a long time since I had a panic attack and that time, it was difficult to control and worse, even my sleep was affected. My mom would calm me down by helping me meditate with a bunch of essential oils and by staying present. I also talked over the phone to my Kuya who's in Manila and with other loved ones so it eased out my agony. Their words comforted me. Their company patted my back. I started to feel safe. I felt much better. I stopped dwelling on the negativity. I looked into the blessings which I'm really grateful for. I prayed to God. I consciously focused on the fact that I'm alive and I have a purpose. I knew I just had to shift my perspective. I started to heal. I started to pick up my broken pieces like a puzzle waiting to be solved.
Well, there’s always a new day. The virus is still there, but no one’s stopping me from overcoming my fears and doing what I love. Let’s face life no matter what. Since I'm really a home person, I didn't bother much about things to do in quarantine. These are the things that kept me going while staying at home: I do love being active so after getting up in the morning, I would pray and think about the things I'm grateful for. After that, I would turn the television on, go to Youtube and do my usual workout routine (a good sweat releases endorphins). I also got to bake some goodies, learn to cook new recipes and get creative with my makeup looks. I also do household chores and binge-watch my favorite shows on Netflix right after. I even do some home photoshoot so I get to play dress up. Spending time with my family 24/7 is a major blessing I experience amidst the crisis. Every night, I pray to God and talk to him sincerely. Prayers are the best antidote and His hands are my safe haven.
These were some of the meals I cooked.
These were some selfies I took during quarantine as I get creative with my makeup looks to avoid overthinking.
Watching my favorite series, FRIENDS. A good laugh comes a long way.
With regards to academics, as a student and as a person, I was firm on my stand to push for mass promotion of all students. Considering the situation and ongoing threat of the global crisis, health is greatly at risk. I voiced out my opinion on social media. In my little way, I wanted to help those near around me to come to our house for internet access if ever mass promotion didn’t push through. Good thing my professors were considerate enough to pass us all even if the university didn’t go for mass promotion at first. Luckily, a new memo from our school’s administration came to a decision in benefit of the students. Mass promotion pushed through.
This is a screenshot of my Mass Promotion post where I voiced out what I felt.
Just yesterday, I received a bad news. It felt devastating to lose one of the best professors I had. We didn’t see it coming. He suffered from severe pneumonia and tuberculosis. He was one of the people who believes in me and appreciates my passion. He had expert communication skills and a strong work ethic. Not to mention his great sense of humor that kept every discussion in class fun. I have always admired him. I will surely miss Sir Guban. Heaven gained an angel. May he rest in peace.
This is Sir Guban, one of my best professors who just passed away.
Giving shape to time is indeed important now when the future is so shapeless. The pandemic is a whole new ballgame with new rules being created each day. We are challenged to let go of normalcy and face a new one. I know it’s hard to gain a perspective when you are in the middle of such uncertainty; to make sense of what is going on and how the future will emerge. But I have learned that I need to trust the process because eventually, it will unleash a better version of myself, a stronger one. As I began to reflect on the reality of such a virus and trying to contain it, it became clear that it says something quite wonderful about humanity. It says that we have the capacity to shift out of our comfort zones and to quite literally work together to save our lives and the lives of others. There is a tremendous hope for humanity being demonstrated around us. We can choose to walk through it lightly, with a little luggage, ready to imagine another world and ready to fight for it. Life may hit us hard countless times but I found out that it’s about finding ways to get back up again and moving forward despite the greatest obstacles.
Always wear your face mask, sanitize, be mindful and be safe.

Scratch the filter and makeup — it’s time to really deal with “beauty from within” to get the glow we deserve.
There will be times that I would have sleepless nights because of projects, outputs and school work or contemplating about so many things that may lead to stress and anxiety, but it’s God-given that I have a companion to combat the bad cells and generate good cells.
When we say beauty from within, it may be our lovely personality, the food that we eat or the supplements we take.
NuEssence dietary supplements are 100% made in Japan and comes in two variants to help you achieve and maintain healthy glow.
As I take these supplements daily, I notice that the person I see in the mirror is blooming. It’s hard to explain but there’s really something, perhaps, glow. My skin gets better. I would always get compliments and I’m humbly flattered with those.
What I take are these two variants:
NuEssence Collagen which has active ingredients of fish collagen for cell repair, beer yeast extract as an antioxidant, vitamins C & E for faster absorption. Collagen helps slow aging, prevents wrinkles and lines for younger and smoother skin and keeps skin moisturized and glowing. SRP is P999.75 for 30 tablets and P2499.75 for 90 tablets at Watson’s while at Lazada, P999 for 30 tables and P1,999.
NuEssance Glutathione is an excellent antioxidant, has whitening properties and has anti-aging qualities. It has active ingredients of glutathione for a lighter complexion, mangosteen as an antioxidant, L-Cysteine to erase blemishes and Silk Peptide for moisture. SRP at Watson’s is P1,599.75 for 30 tablets and P3,499.75 for 90 tablets while at Lazada, it’s P1,249 for 30 tablets and P2,799 for 90 tablets.
Tell me what skin stories you have, leave ‘em in the comment section!
Admit it – leaves are too pleasing to the eyes, especially green ones. As a matter of fact, tropical print belongs to my favorite kinds of print. It’s just so flattering to take a look at a group of greenery, kind of soothing I must say. It just feels really pinterest-y.
Here, I am wearing a wrap halterneck kind of tropical dress with aesthetic leaf prints. The dress itself screams “attention” and I paired it with some classic black heels to tone down the splashy print. I accessorized it with a classic gold watch + midi hoops and since the print has some sorta dark color, I made sure that a navy blue bag can go along with it well.
I truly admire how the dress can pass for a day-out or a night-out look. If considering it as an office look, you can use a blazer to make it more of an officewear, then, when it’s TGIF kinda party night, you can just take the blazer off.
I know it’s a little thrilling to completely wear an outfit with unusual print but all that matters is that it’s how you carry it. Never forget to be confident!
Ditch the bulky blouses and button-downs for the mean time, because it’s time to say hello again to tube tops — which create a hot statement right now.
Personally, I have all the affection for tube tops because it’s way uncomplicated, easy + comfy to wear (since it feels like you’re wearing nothing haha) and reminds me of the 80s fashion.
I remember back then when I was little, I used to create duck faces whenever my mom dresses me up with a lot of shown-off skin. I used to hate it. Of all the types of clothes, I never imagined myself to confidently wear a tube (nor a bikini) for the past time but little by little, it makes me glad that I can finally embrace my flaws and my confidence keeps on growing as a whole. Isn’t it a little ironic how we wear what we thought we would never wear? Amazing! If you find it hard to show some skin off, change your mindset!
So back to styling, I know wearing tube tops needs a lot of confidence but it’s my pleasure to guide you.
To sport a sporty chic kinda look, you can layer a tube top/bandeau under an open jacket, be it placed on the shoulders or just normally wear it, a cool pair of denim pants, some nice pair of white sneakers and add a little bling such as hoop earrings and a watch to tolerate the street-style getup.
Here’s the tip: if you want to plainly wear a tube with no cover-up, opt for a pair of high-waisted bottoms like pants, skirt etc. But for those who don’t, a little jacket wouldn’t hurt nobody.
As you can see, my heart flutters since I have cute tattoos here (temporary and very kid-friendly) which having it draws more “edge” to the look. You wouldn’t know how happy I was while putting them on haha! I’ll let you know where to get them below.
There are so many ways on how to style tube tops but as far as I know, it’s all in your hands to experiment and play with garments. What matters is the process of achieving that look and how you carry it — be confident enough and darling, don’t forget to have fun!
Ps: Add a blinding highlight on your top cheekbone and below the brows.

Preparing for my big day gave me mixed emotions. From planning down to scratching something off the to-do checklist, it takes real effort to finish one by one.
One of the most important things to get done is the invitation. I, myself fantasized something that reflects aesthetic + adding my personal style. And to keep it in theme which is pastel, my brother decided to do the layout. The design is just as preppy as I wanted it to be and including leaves just screams my name! After all the editing and stuff, voila! Isn’t the design just too cute and cool?
Done with the design, now it’s time for printing. We entitled the work to a company who’s worthy of our trust and it’s so amazing how they didn’t fail us. Thanks to Lemon Prints PH, a company that recently started. They create various invitation styles to suit your taste from traditional to modern, edgy to rustic. They are a small company, therefore their creations are carefully printed and finishing touches are made by hand. Their mission is to create your imagination! To give everyone the chance to set creative juices free and set them to life. Their team is composed of young diverse professionals who share a common goal to provide quality service.
Although I’m from the province and they’re in the Metro, the service was as clear as crystals. I sent the layout and after just a week, I have the printed invitations in my hands, all safe and pretty from the shipping process. The transaction was smooth and the outcome was just as how I imagined it to be.
I ended up thanking them nonstop and I believe they should be recognized for a job well done. Did I mention they also make designs and layouts? Have it customized! Don’t be afraid to approach them since they’re too nice!

So glad everything fell into place on my big day. Thoughts?
The sun — it’s so bright, bold and good, until you realize it sweats the hell out of you. We may love the outdoors, but getting our skin burnt is a nuisance. All thanks to sunscreen, it benefits our health in several ways. By protecting us from harmful sun radiation, sunscreen reduces the risk for skin cancer, premature aging and sunburns. You can optimize your protection by choosing the right sunscreen, wearing it regularly and using it as directed.
By choosing, I mean, selecting the one that will suit your skin best. Good thing there’s Belo SunExpert — offers superior sun protection you need.
Tinted Sunscreen has SPF50 and PA++++ and both ensures broad spectrum protection against harmful UV rays. It also has Tone Adapt Technology that evens out skin tone, conceals fine lines, wrinkles and other imperfections. Plus, Cell Protect that strengthens skin’s defense against premature skin aging and is paraben-free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested.
What I love about the Tinted Sunscreen is that it could replace BB Cream or be a primer substitute. With just using this, I can get both healthy and good-looking skin. The pleasant smell is a plus!
It’s really easy to use since you just have to apply a small amount onto finger, apply onto face and blend with your fingertips but I suggest you use a beauty blender to leave no marks.

I toootes love makeup and trying out different brands is kind of exciting.
The recent package I got from LOL contains these products:

This bronzing powder is pigmented and the shade I got is super nice. I love how it has a little shimmer so that it gives a little shiny touch.
2. Contour Kit Duo
This duo sculpts the face features and helps define the structure. I admire how this one works since it’s cream-based.
3. Brow Powder (Espresso 02)
Eyebrows on fleek achieved with this one! I always use the black one and it’s perfect for everyday look. I use the brown shade for creating a nose line or eyeshadow!

If you’re a skincare or makeup junkie, I’m sure bundles are your thing especially if you love to hoard. If you’re a newbie to Korean products, I know it’s kinda overwhelming to choose from a wide variety of goodies. Thanks to customer review, it becomes easier for us whether to buy or not. Beyond what meets the eye, there’s something in black that makes it a world favorite. It’s as dark as a coal that fires up the soul or a dimly night sky with no stars at all. Certainly, it’s blinding but isn’t it just so beautiful? The color ─ it’s so fine and elegant and striking.
Come on, I am just enthusiastic about black. It’s the color of mystery and protection.
Well, here are the reasons why we love black:
1. It’s unpredictable.
Wearing black sometimes lets people anticipate that there’s a fishy meaning behind which makes it totally unpredictable. All we could do is shut up and get ready to slay anytime, with our weapon of choice – black. Leaving them with curiosity is kind of fun.
2. It’s just really glamorous.
Hollywood glam or Parisian love affair, you choose. But making an allowance for the occasion is a must. Always consider the event itself when wearing black. Am I the only one who squeaked when I saw Ivy Aguas’ black gown on her wedding? Lovely!
3. It’s such a happy color.
I don’t know why but I’m one of those people who find happiness in black. I’m not satanic or anything, I just find the dark color riveting. Timeless, I can say. Just like what Louise Nevelson said, it’s the most aristocratic color. It just goes with anything!
4. There’s no darker color than black.
Dark black, pastel black, faded black - name it. You know the drill; I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color. It just shows that the color is a standout, thanks its pure sophistication.
Lookie. In the photos, I’m wearing a black ruffled dress that’s a perfect fit to me. The details of the ruffles make it compelling and the retro vibe can’t help but radiate. I wore a good pair of block heels in black, a classic black bangle, a pair of shiny hoop earrings and a sling bag to match. I also sported some good sunspecs which gives a little fun to the look.

“she’s fond of wearing black, because you can’t imagine a poet in a bright yellow jacket.”
Another #LoveLocal product to love ─ Bellissima Egg White
Just when you thought eggs are only made to fill our stomach, well scratch it. It can also be something we have when taking a bubbly bath or a good morning rinse ─ perhaps, soap *plays melanie martinez’s song*
Bellissima Egg White Skin Whitening Beauty Soap is proudly Filipino-made but using traditional Swedish formulation. It helps lighten skin, soften or tighten face and smoothen skin. Personally, it was my first time trying a soap made of egg whites and I admit I’m pretty impressed. When I smelled it, I loved the mild fragrance. And after using it, I could say that my skin felt sooo soft and supple – like I already put lotion but I still I haven’t. The color is obviously white and I find the shape really cute because it’s formed like an egg.
I’ll rate the soap 4/5 because for a starting brand, it’s quite striking. I also loved the effects and I defo recommend this soap for y’all.

Prints and patterns have always been capturing not just the eye but heart of fashion. And the fashionistas have spoken – gingham is something to watch out. With its exquisite appeal and classic touch, it is indeed a showstopper.
I personally love the idea of patterns because it adds friskiness to the look and oozes bounce to the one who is wearing.
Gingham is becoming more popular than ever; as seen on catwalks, runways to shops and streets. It’s a serious trend that radiates globally, letting a lot of fashionistas sport the print. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was spotted embracing head-to-toe Gingham at a charity event in March and countless instagrammers, models, bloggers and influencers are taking up the trend.
So, if you would like to sport gingham, I’ll teach you how.
Here, I am wearing white, lacy long sleeves with elegant details paired with a ruffled gingham skirt and I accentuated a classic bangle and some hoop earrings to add a little edge to the outfit. With a calm attitude and refined behavior, it’s easy-peasy to sport the look so don’t forget it!
You ready to channel your inner Emma Roberts? Don’t be afraid to experiment! Just be confident :)
Just when you thought you are all set and ready to go, shimmery dress, big curls and fully baked-face – it calls for a night out. Then suddenly, you feel like something’s missing. Perhaps, some faux eyelashes!
Lashes are as important as eyebrows. It opens the eyes and crafts a dreamy look. So, choosing the best lashes is a must for all. Aaand, using the appropriate lashes for an event should be taken seriously. You don’t want to look like a drag queen on a friend’s debut, or look way too plain in a Halloween party. Keep that in mind.
Apparently, I am obsessing over the faux eyelashes that Psychee Cosmetics sent me last time. I actually got two kinds, a natural-looking one and a thick one. The packaging is truly lit and has a slogan, “If it makes you feel beautiful, then go for it!”
And by the way, Psychee also launched their lipstick line. It’s liquid matte, super-pigmented and has a divine smell. Thumbs up!
In this look, need I say more? I’m using the thick lashes and the lippie in Hottie Xandra.
