I still get that thrill; I guess it’s like escapism at its finest. On the acting side, my favourite thing is when I truly lose myself in a scene, when I forget that I’m on a set. It’s only truly happened a few times in my whole career, where I’ve genuinely forgotten I was on a set, forgotten that I’m not that character, forgot that it wasn’t that time, or that place. That’s the best feeling in the world. Better than skydiving; it’s like the most exhilarating thing to experience. Happy 28th birthday, Margot Robbie! (July 2, 1990)

When I first started working and I started making money, I was speaking with a business manager and they said, ‘You should start investing your money, what do you want to do with your money?’ And first thing was I wanted to pay off my mum’s mortgage. Every couple of months I would check in and be like, ‘Do we have enough yet?’ and he would be like, ‘No, not yet'… And then eventually he was like, ‘You can afford to pay your mum’s mortgage now.’ I feel very lucky that I actually had the opportunity to do that. It was definitely one of the best moments of my life.

In my head I was like, ‘You have literally 30 seconds left in this room and if you don’t do something impressive nothing will ever come of it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance, just take it.’ And so I start screaming at him [Leo] and he’s yelling back at me. And he’s really scary. I can barely keep up. And he ends it saying, ‘You should be happy to have a husband like me. Now get over here and kiss me.’ So I walk up really close to his face and then I’m like, ‘Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever?’ But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, ‘Whack!’ I hit him in the face. And then I scream, ‘Fuck you!’ And that’s not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze. I’m thinking, ‘You just hit Leonardo DiCaprio in the face. They’re going to arrest you because that’s assault. You’re definitely never going to work again, that’s for sure.
