Bospa and censorship
I don't speak english, sorry if i make a mistake, but today I want to write about something that makes me really angry. I need to vent a little.
I am referring to the censorship that Bospa, the ship between Bosco Villa de Cortéz and Pedro Pablo Roble, has had to go through.
Let's start at the beginning. The mexican telenovela "El amor no tiene receta" (Love has no recipe) was advertised as an inclusive soup opera that sought to show different types of couples including LGBT+ couples: a trans woman x cis man couple, and a suggested gay couple.
From the beginning they always gave us clues that Pepa and Bosco would be that gay couple. The writers of the story, who are also gay, although they did not openly say that the characters were from the community, almost always confirmed it on Twitter (X).
One of them always interacted with the fandom, gave us likes and even added romantic songs to the Bospa playlist made by the fandom. All of us fans, mostly queer people, were very excited for this couple that showed great potential. But what happened? There was a point in the story when there were only few scenes of them, the writer deleted everything related to the couple from his account and the playlist, and he began to write suspicious tweets implying that they were censoring his work.
As time went by, we realized that apparently the bosses simply wanted to get rid of the couple, now they were just characters who made a cameos here and there with an apparent romance that is lived in silence. All of their important scenes together and also Pepas' coming out was censored. He couldn't even say the word gay
It is well known that Televisa, producer house of this novel, is very conservative, as is the producer Juan Osorio, who even though, he had included a gay couple in a previous novel in the past, this time he just gave this to us.
One of my hypothesis is that last time, he only did it because his son was one of the members of that couple and obviously he had to make him famous. But well, it seems disastrous to me that in 2024 there is a setback in the representation of queer couples in Latin american soap operas.
It makes me sad that two gay writers couldn't openly show the couple they created with so much love, because they worked in a homophobic company. And the most important thing about the matter, is the message it conveys to the LGBT community that love indeed "have a recipe" and does not include gays or trans people, because, not even the couple with a trans girl ended well. At the end, 4 straight couples were endgame and the only two LGBT couples were not.
The message that the show sought to give was not conveyed well and only implied that gays should not show their love. It's really stupid, because there are two scenes with an old homophobic/ transphobic man who made comments like: "I don't understand why you have to be rubbing it in the face of everyone that you two are together" (he said it to the trans x cis couple), they obviously defended themselves. The scenes were obviously meant to give a message against discrimination, but it was of no use because the reality shown is different. Even that man got his happy ending with a woman.
Likewise, there is a scene where a character talks about how the best romances are the ones that are not shown to anyone and are not presumed, all while one of the gay characters is present and makes a sad face.
Another scene, a straight couple (older woman and younger man) says something about being able to "live their love in public", A CIS STRAIGHT COUPLE, WHILE THE GAYS IN THE SHOW CAN'T DO THAT. That felt like a bad joke, a mockery, a hit. In other words, all couples can be shown as long as they are not LGBT, wow what a message.
At the end of the story, Bospa ended up to interpretation, if you think they are friends or a couple is up to you. That was really bad, because it was not planned that way. It was confirmed by one of the authors that they are a couple at the end but that stills dont make them 100% canon because it was not shown on our tv.
It's sad to know that there is an initial version of what the tv show could have been before it was censored and a bunch of deleted Bosco and Pepa scenes. I consider that it is not only a lack of respect for us as an audience but also for each queer person who worked on this production.
As i mentioned before, the last years, there has been other gay couples produced by Televisa, like Aristemo, Juliantina, Artiego, Robertana, etc. These couples were a big step for mexican television even thought they also had to deal with censorship at their time. One of the last examples is Artiego, where their kiss at the end was deleted.
In our case, our ship was just erased, but we know, we know… The worse thing is the gaslighting their trying to apply on us, trying to make us think the couple was never planned. A lot of people say: queerbaiting, but it's more complex than that. These queer authors were promised a gay couple in the show they were writing and then the people in charge were like: "nah, there's no time, we are just going to delete everything and people are not going to notice". It's also very obvious how the writters were trying to queercode the characters to at least give us hints that they're in love. We even had an RCP scene because a kiss was not allowed.
So no, these gay writers were not queerbaiting us but the big people in the company took advantage of the queer audience that the ship attracted. Bosco and Pedro Pablo did not deserve to be a gay couple in a soap opera produced by these people.
Now, what we are doing is asking them on Twitter if they can at least give us the deleted scenes of our ship. It's all there, we need that to give their story a closure. Also we're trying to get a second season or an spin off, but that's more difficult.
I know that maybe we are not going to get anything by posting this here but at least i'm getting all out of my system.
Queer 👏 people 👏 are 👏 not 👏 all 👏 fucking 👏 activists 👏
Stop quizzing us on queer history and asking us questions we aren’t qualified to answer about the world and about politics and about our identities
Stop trying to back us into a corner so you can justify your discrimination on the basis that we don’t know what we’re talking about or can’t “defend” ourselves to you
Stop treating every queer person that stands up and says “I want to be treated like a person” as if they’re an activist
Cut that bullshit out
Marginalised people just want to exist and be happy
I don’t know everything, and that doesn’t make me undeserving of your respect or my human rights you fucker
I don’t even owe you the stuff I do know- I still am entitled to basic fucking respect
TLDR; Queer people shouldn’t have to be historians or scientists for you to not be a fucking dick

I just need to vent about this situation. I'm sad

My analysis of why Mike and Will are twin flames and NOT soulmates
Now, to understand this you’re gonna need to know what exactly a twin flame is. they’re someone that is literally half of your soul. whereas you have one half and they have the other, you’re two sides of the same coin, you make up one being. you mirror each other and bring out the best and worst of one another.
Twin flames are divided into two groups. the divine feminine and the divine masculine. it doesn’t matter who is the male or female or if it’s a relationship with two people of the same sex. there is always one of each.
The divine feminine is the counterpart that is seen as soft and kind and usually just all around nice, that’s the best way i can explain it. They’re in modern terms referred to as the light and the power whereas the divine masculine is often viewed as the exact opposite.
In a divine connection, in this case, byler. I believe Will is the divine feminine (and no it’s not just because he’s gay) because he’s soft and reserved and kind but he also has that little bit of snarkyness and the tiniest edge to him. Mike would be the divine masculine where yes he’s kind and all that but he has more of a sharper edge to him. He’s what i would refer to as an acquired taste. He’s more standoffish and just spiritually has a darker vibe to him (if you get, you get. it if you don’t, you don’t.)
They’re dynamic is that of a twin flame connection if i’ve ever seen one. the way they mirror each other with not only their emotions but their actions, the way Will is always bringing out Mikes soft side, the way Will isn’t afraid to call Mike out on his shit. All of that reads as a divine connection but the most telling part is the separation phase.
When Will went to California they entered what you would refer to as a separation phase. During this time the divine feminine works on their self and becomes their highest self. We see that with Will how he’s not exactly biting his tongue anymore and we seen that a bit in s3 when they got into the fight and that’s when i believe their separation phase began but the Byers moving just progressed it. Will became a different almost more powerful version of himself. He didn’t seem to be questioning himself as much, he seemed like he had like a glowing personality even through all of the bullshit that happened.
Now, the divine masculine during the separation phase is pretty much a wreck. they’re careless and often depressed and are basically obsessed with the divine feminine which we see with Mike with Dustin mentioning the phone calls and the way he paid attention to every little move Will made during the day at rink-o-mania and im positive we’ll see more of it next season.
After the separation phase you have the reunion which would be Mike coming to California. As i said, Will has worked on himself and become more of who his best self is so naturally, Mike is going to mirror that being around him. He becomes more open around Will and more communicative. He’s feeding off of the energy radiating from Will with his new found confide in himself. Mike is finally having the realizations that Will is it for him. No distractions this time, he can’t hide behind El or a supernatural being (until they’re back in hawkins ofc) all of it is just raw energy feeding into one another.
After the reunion, comes the union. This is the part where the divine feminine and the divine masculine start working together and become one. Kinda like a well oiled machine that has all the parts. They become the team they’re meant to be which is referenced during the talk in Wills room in s4. There’s nothing that can stop this union, it’s going to happen because both sides have done the work and became their best selves.
if anyone has any further questions, pls let me know and i’ll do my best to answer them. if this is too confusing and all over the place for y’all to understand, let me know and i’ll redo it at a later time.
When did you first come up with the idea for Card Captor Sakura? Ohkawa: We were close to finishing Magic Knight Rayearth, the manga we were serializing in Nakayoshi before Card Captor Sakura, when…
[CLAMP INTERVIEW]
“Ohkawa: (…) I am glad that the readers are happy that Sakura and Syaoran got together, but that anyone would think it’s because they make a normal couple… it’s a little disconcerting. Sakura didn’t chose Syaoran because he’s a boy close to her in age. If Syaoran had been a girl, if they had been far apart in age, as long as he was still Syaoran, I think Sakura would have fallen in love with him. It’d sadden me if you thought they’re a good couple because they’re normal.”

This is just one of the many great quotes said by Ohkawa in this interview!
We’re two weeks away from the second chapter of “Clear Card arc”, and while we wait for it, how about looking back at this interview, taken from around the time the original series had just ended?

YEP! THE CREEL MURDERS HAPPENED ON SUNDAY MARCH 22nd/THE NIGHT OF SATURDAY MARCH 21ST! Just like i talked about in this post.
How do i know this? Well.
“Local family man, Victor Creel, murdered his wife and two small children Saturday night.”
And now look at the date on this paper- Thursday, March 26th. Making that previous Saturday having been March 21st, and the bodies were discovered on Sunday, march 22nd.
The same March 22nd as Will’s birthday. This explains why Henry would want to erase that day- it was the day where shit hit the fan in his life.
