In this tent, I, Mariam Shaqoura, live as a displaced person, suffering from hunger. My brother is missing, and my father is still in the north. I cry for them with tears of blood. I don't want to die; I want to leave this place and return to my university, to the College of Engineering. If I perish, remember me and say I loved life.
The days here pass painfully slow, as if each hour takes a part of my soul. Memories of the university campus haunt me every moment, my dreams fading with each passing day. The friends who once surrounded me are now faded images in my memory. The future once seemed bright, but now it is shrouded in the darkness of war and despair.
I try to hold on to hope, but hunger gnaws at my body, and fear ravages my soul. Each day without news of my brother or father makes the pain unbearable. The nights here are long and cold, the silence heavy like a nightmare. I lift my eyes to the sky and pray, asking God to protect us and bring back our loved ones, but I feel my plea lost in the void.
To everyone who hears my voice, please, save me. Let us leave this nightmare behind and return to life. Donate and help us escape this hell. I dream of returning to my university, to the halls of the College of Engineering that I loved, where the future once seemed possible.
If I perish here, remember me and say I loved life. I loved it despite everything because it gave me hope and strength to carry on. But now, hope fades with each day without aid. Do not let this voice drown in silence, do not let my dream die. Donate and help us live because life is worth living.
