âŠguess who wrote a sequel to an old one shot⊠I DID!
And funny enough, for the same event! (We've come full circle @maribat-bpm!) However, unlike the previous one, this one is going to be a multi-chapter fic!
Enjoy!

Today's prompt: a sub! "I'd kill for you."

AO3
Talia didnât expect Damian to actually bring back his sister from god-knows-where, grabbing him by his shoulders as he dared to stand between her and her daughter.
âWhy would you do this Damian!â Talia seethed, digging her nails into his shoulders. âWhy would you go and bring her back!â
âBecause if you werenât going to, I was.â He stood his ground.
âI warned you of-â
âShe is my sister and she deserves to be with us!â Damian yelled, âthey were not caring for her properly!â
âOf course they arenât going to take care of her the way we take care of-â
âThey donât care about her.â Damian said. âI found her by herself, eating a cold bowl of oatmeal while they were out in town selling their dairy with their other child.â
âWhich is in their right-â
âThey are neglecting her, mother.â Damian rephrased, watching her reaction. Feeling as she loosening her grasp on him. âSheâs shorter than the children her age, mother. Just look at herâ He motioned to his sister. âSheâs all skin and bones.â
Damian stepped aside as if to tell her to look with her own eyes, Talia doing just so.
And sure enough, he was right.
The girl was wearing a very loosely fitted pale blue dress, the hem of the skirt fraying in a few places, the collar of the dress just barely able to keep its shape and the shoesâŠÂ
She barely fit in themâŠ
She walked up to the girl, noticing the unshed tears in her eyes.
âDamian,â the girl called out, her voice warbling. So she spoke Italian. âIâm scared.â
âItâs going to be alright,â Damian reassured her, pointing his head to Talia. âThis is our mother.â
âOur mother?â The girl looked at Talia, her eyes free from the anxiety she held just moments ago and replaced with awe and what Talia believed, hope. âIs she really our mother?â She scanned her from head to toe. âSheâs really pretty.â
-
Talia would later realize that this was the moment that changed everything.
-
Talia crouched in front of the girl, touching her face, caressing her cheek.Â
-
A fatal mistake on her part.
-
The girl let herself be examined, Talia noticing her fight tears back. âMom never held me so gently before.â She said quietly. âThen again, she only held my hand when we were in public and never when we were at homeâŠâ The girl leaned into Taliaâs touch, placing her own hand over hers.
It was so smallâŠso pale and scrawny⊠âYour hand is so warm...â The girl told her, smiling as she looked at her. âI like it.âÂ
-
Has it really been 8 years since she last held her baby in her hands? Has it really been 8 years since she gave up her baby without a fight?
How could she?
She was a babyâŠshe depended on her for its survival and she threw her to the wolves without a second thoughtâŠ
HOW COULD SHE?!
-
Talia pulled the girl into a tight hug, fearing that if she didnât, the girl she abandoned all those years ago wasnât the one standing before her.Â
âMy child.â Talia whispered, caressing her hair. It was grimy and filled with split ends. She was going to need a good haircut and bath. âIâm sorry. Iâm so sorry. I shouldâve held onto you.â
-
This time, Iâll fightâŠeven if it means death in the form of her own father.
-
Talia pulled away from the girl, wiping away the tears that spilled from her eyes.
âIâm so sorry I left you alone all this time.â Talia told the girl in Italian, letting out a laugh when the girl finally reacted to her words.
âYou know Italian?!â The girl exclaimed, her face lighting up, her tears nowhere to be found anymore.
âI do, so tell me, what is your name?â The girl blinked before giving her a toothy smile.
âItâs Lila,â Lila said, hugging Talia, âIâm so glad you found me, Mama.â
-
A day hadnât passed and yet his mother tended to his sister as if they had been living together for years.Â
He watched as his mother prepared her bath with simple soaps, humming as she scrubbed her hair, Lila giggling as she did so.
He watched as his mother helped Lila get dressed, tailoring one of her old kaftan dresses to her size, watching his motherâs face glow brighter than he ever saw.
As Talia dried her hair and trimmed the ends, Lila would talk about the foods sheâs always wanted to try, Talia promising that theyâd do just that one day.
Drained by the sudden attention and new environment, Lila found herself drowsy, being carried by Talia to bed.Â
She was tucked into bed, Talia kissing Lila goodnight, Damian watching as Lila let out a sleepy smile before drifting off to sleep.
âDo you still think it was a bad idea of me bringing my sister back home when youâre this hap-â
âYes.â Talia cut him off.Â
Before Damian could provide a counter argument, Talia pulled him in for a hug. âThis was the worst idea youâve ever thought of Damian and yet,â she hugged him tighter. âThank you.â
Talia felt as Damian returned the hug, deciding to not bring up the sniffle that slipped from him.
-
Coming up with a plan to smuggle her daughter out of the League turned out to be more difficult than she thought it would take, Talia having to think and plan three whole months on a thorough plan that had a 15 percent chance of working.
Hiring someone to kill your own fatherâŠor rather, to create an opportunity to send your kids to a safer place and hopefully be able to reunite with them and live with themâŠwas actually a lot easier to do than Talia hoped it would beâŠ
A bit too easy if you asked herâŠ
âNo!â Lila yelled, only for Damian placing a hand over her mouth. Talia and him listened as guards ran past their room, listening to see if any of them dared to enter their living quarters.
After all, only one child was allowed in this part of the Leagueâs compound.
âLila! You have to be quiet!â He hissed, turning over to their mother. âAnd what do you mean I have to leave? I thought-â
âWe canât leave together and we canât let your grandfather be aware that-â
âGrandfather?â Lila asked, looking between the two. âI have a grandfather?â
âYes.â âNo.â Damian said, Talia sternly crushing Lilaâs hopes of having a new family member.
âGrandfather-â
â-was the one who wanted her dead Damian.â Talia reminded him, only then registering the words that had left her mouth, turning to LIla to assess the damage done.
âMy grandfatherâŠâ Lila looked at her mother with tears in her eyes, âwants to kill me?â Lila grasped her motherâs hand. âI donât want to die Mama! I just met you and Damian!â She tried her best to smile, her lips quivering as she did so. âI promise to be quiet! I can be quiet! Look!â Lila promptly shut her mouth, Talia noticing Lila biting her lips shut as tears spilled from her eyes.
Talia wrapped her arms around Lila, pulling her into a tight embrace.
âI dare him to lay a hand on you, Lila. I dare him to pull you away from me because this time, I will fight for you Lila.â Talia pulled her away, looking at Lila in the eyes. âFor you Lila, Iâd kill my own father.
What time is it? It's June and that means the beginning of @maribat-bpm's Maribat Bio Parent Month 2026! And this year, I plan on trying to use different characters for the prompts (let's see if I can stick to it.)
So here's Day 1: Unconditional Love
Bio Parent: Pamela Isley, Kid: Rose Lavillant
This scene was the inspo for this fic. Enjoy!

AO3
What is love?
Was it the joy you got when the new pair of shoes you got didnât pinch your foot and fit snuggly?
Was it the relief you got when your favorite brand of snacks was still in production despite having said they were going out of business around half a year ago?
Was it the giddiness you got when you found that the new shirt you were eyeing since the day you saw it in stores suited you to a âtâ and were able to buy it then and there?
Was it the drowsiness you felt upon sitting under the sun in the garden, watching the clouds past by and watching as the scarlet sky became a dark blue ocean peppered with twinkling stars?
Or was it the nostalgia you experienced when the new drink at your favorite cafe smelled just like the hot cocoa your mom once used to make you when you were a child?
Was it the feeling you got when everything in life just felt right?
If you asked Pamela Isley the question, she knew she wouldnât be able to answer a fraction of that question.
Seeing your mother get beaten for standing up for you, seeing her get murdered in front of you, living with a relative who kept you at arms length, going to college for the sake of keeping the mind occupied and away from your childhood memoriesâŠ
Pamela couldnât exactly say she loved the ability to essentially brainwash those around her with her - if anything, she took pride in being able to control those who stood in her way.
Yet not everyone thought doing this was okay, that this was morally and ethically wrongâŠlike Mr.Wayne.
He rejected her idea to use her pheromone pills to control his business partners and fired her on the spot for thinking of âsuch a thingâ...
So here she was, alone in her apartment, wondering what she should be doing next. As Mr.Wayne basically confiscated all of her pheromone search, she did what she could do with the machinery she had at home: experiment.
Seeing as she could no longer continue with pheromone experimentation, she decided to play around with what she could, leading her to test if she could grow a human from a plant by splicing and modifying human stem cells and plant genetics.Â
She decided to use pomegranate seeds and her own DNA, seeing as it was the easiest for her to collect and obtain.
As with every experiment, she knew she wasnât going to get this on the first tryâŠyet she didnât expect for her experiment to bear fruit on her first tryâŠquite literally.Â
She had modified the plantâs genes to prevent the plants from making fruits, diverting the energy to create humans from the stems and leaves of the plant instead.Â
So how did she end up with this?
There, on the edge of a branch, Pamela noticed what resembled a pomegranate .Â
A ripe, plumpy pomegranate that fitted just perfectly in her hand.Â
As she examined the pomegranate, she heard a snap, the pomegranate dropping into her hand, startling Pamela.Â
She sighed.Â
A failure.Â
All she did was create yet another fast, growing plant that-
Her attention was taken by the wobbling pomegranate that fell in her hand just moments ago.Â
She watched it writhe for a few seconds, wobbling from side to side until she realized that the pomegranate was no longer firm, its walls deflating, caving into itself.
And thatâs when she saw it.
Tiny human hands clawing at the sunken pomegranate walls, as if trying to tear through the skin and make its way out.
Pamela kept staring at it, wondering what creature she had created from this new plant when she heard it.
The clawing was getting more aggressive with each passing moment when she heard what she thought was chittering but upon taking a moment to listen to it, bringing the pomegranate to her ear, she recognized the chittering as wails.Â
Baby wails.
Pamela immediately tried to break the pomegranate open, but couldnât. The skin was too thick and tough for her to break it open with just her nails and she didnât want to risk injuring the baby inside.Â
She ran across her lab, scanning her table in search of-
Scalpel!Â
Pamela gently placed the wrinkly pomegranate on the table and gently lifted a part of the skin and carefully cut through it, letting out a breath when she successfully made an incision.Â
She carefully made the incision bigger, gliding the blade down the fruit, revealing the crying baby inside, its screams now a bit louder than before yet still too weak to fully hear them.
It looked no older than 22 weeks old, explaining why their screams were so weakâŠ
22 weeksâŠ
âShe wonât survive.â Pamela whispered, quickly scooping the crying child and held her close to her bosom, scurrying around her lab, wondering what she should do.
Yes, she was a scientist, yes she had the degrees to prove it. Yes she knew botany and was a microbiologist but that didnât mean she knew what was needed to make sure this child she created will survive under her care.Â
Pamela tried to think as fast as she could, glancing at the child to make sure it was still breathing- it grew.
It grew.
The baby was no longer the size of the pomegranate and now looked the size of a small pumpkin, quietly sleeping in her embrace.
Pamela stared at the baby, lifting one of her hands to readjust her hold but found herself reaching for the babyâs face.
She caressed the babyâs face with her thumb, rousing the baby awake.
The baby looked at her with large blue doe eyes, giving her a smile before going back to sleep.Â
Pamela felt her heart swelling, holding the baby tighter against herself as she wrapped the baby in one the large leaves from one of her plants, allowing the plant to help bring the baby to her room.Â
Quietly as to not make the baby, Pamela went through her clothing and picked a slightly worn shirt that was soft to the touch.Â
She then searched for an old sewing kit at the top of her wardrobe, hoping it actually held some thread and needles and thankfully it did.
She haphazardly made her shirt into a baby onesie, taking the baby from the warmth of the leaf and thanking it for keeping her baby safe.
Her baby.
Pamela looked down at the child, the baby still fast asleep, her rosy cheeks even more prominent compared to when they freshly bloomed from the pomegranate.Â
âRose.â Pamela found herself saying, laying in bed with the baby next to her. âYour name will be Rose.â She kissed the babyâs forehead. âMy little rose bud.â
At that moment, Pamela felt what she believed to be loveâŠof a need to protect her new childâŠ
Was it just maternal instincts upon seeing Rose? Who knows.Â
