Recently I was involved in a domestic violence situation that forced me to uproot from Austin with no notice, leaving behind my job, my friends, and the life I've built over the past three years. I've been agonizing for days about whether or not I should swallow my pride and ask for help; now that the shock has started to wear off and the reality of how financially detrimental this situation is and will continue to be, I feel like I don't have many other options to pay for relocation, storage, and medical expenses. I know that after all is said and done and my life has begun to return to normal that the debts incurred will well surpass my goal amount, but I cannot in good conscience ask for more as the outpouring of love and altruism from friends and family is already more than I could have ever asked for.
