I havent had a chance to look through all the questions I've gotten, but I will! I just wanted to pop on here and leave a few honest feelings, just in case anyone is going through something similar.

post deployment:

-readjustment has been so hard, and has kind of taken a toll on our relationship in that we aren't completely back to our fun loving selves we were before deployment

-I went through a really tough time during deployment & felt immense isolation and loneliness & that took a toll of its own on myself & therefore our relationship

everyday military stresses:

- I'm constantly trying to absorb whatever stress and bullshit my husband is going through at his job, and its hard to juggle that with my own life stresses

-I hate not being able to control major aspects of my own life due to his job, as well as not being able to control what his shop is putting him through daily

This is all I can think of right now, but I hope everyone is doing alright. Hope to be on more soon!

hi! i'm a relatively new milso. my boyfriend left for 3.5 months on deployment, and i've never been w military before or gone through a deployment with him. i was gonna send him a care package and i know i need to fill out a customs form, but is there anything else i need to do before i take the sealed package to the post office to mail? and how much does it typically cost to mail one? i know it can vary. thank you!

Hi! 3.5 months will fly by! I'm pretty sure you have to use the priority mail boxes for care packages, which come in small, medium, and large and are free to grab at the post office. They're flat rate to ship, I think it's $7.95, $13.65, $18.95 respectively, and you can fill them up as heavily as you want. After you write what's in the box on the customs you can tape it up and just bring it in! I always over taped the boxes, and taped over the address because the boxes travel pretty far. When I would mail the boxes I would start by telling them it was an FPO address and hand them the customs form & they knew what to do! Good luck & have fun sending the boxes!!
