ANA DE ARMAS as roxanne in yesterday (2019)
hollyxchoâ:
âSo youâre trying to tell me, youâd be fine with the possibility even if he was kind of Willy Wonka-ish?â Holly lets out a small gasp, seeing as to how the mere possibility of that didnât even throw the other girl off. âIs this some kind of blind date?
On most occasions, Holly wouldnât even bother getting to know the story behind the face â or in this case, the ugly dress. But to her, the poor girl before her was genuinely seeking for her advice and as an advocate for the art of fashion, she took it upon herself as a duty to prevent anyone under her watch walking out looking like a hot mess. Besides, itâs not like anyone else was ever as capable as her even if they tried. âThe 50s, hm? The era of poodle skirts, poolside glamour and panty raids.â Sheâs got the decadesâ trends rolling right off her tongue just like that. âYou better watch out for the last one.â
âItâll be best just to toss the current look you have altogether,â She sucks in a bit of air, her head swaying with great disapproval. âYou look like a confetti machine just exploded on you. Câmon, show me the other two.â
âDonât you remember the candy factory?! Itâs absolutely incredible! Ooo, wait: are we talking about the book version, Gene Wilder version, or the Johnny Depp version? Because I truly think the Gene Wilder version would be fun to spend time with! Though perhaps youâre right, he might work better as a friend... But what about Glinda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz? Do you think sheâd make a good date?â These were very serious questions, after all. Shaking her head, she just grinned brightly. âNope! We actually met at a wedding that I worked on: Las Vegas Burlesque-themed, rather fun. Not my own personal taste, but the couple and everyone who went seemed thrilled!â
Nodding along, she blushed slightly at the last mention. âOh, uhm yes. That too.â The fifties were... certainly quite a time. At least, from what she heard. She knew that if she were to live during that time period it would have been rather difficult. Of course, she wasnât naive to the negative aspects of it all. While she enjoyed the fashion, the music, the movies, and some things, Marisol was very much so aware that it wasnât the best of times. It truly was a shame and broke her head. But, there wasnât much she could do about that.
At her request, she beamed brightly and headed back into her little changing room. âOh, itâs not confetti: theyâre cherries! And now that Iâm looking at it, I accidentally did a little fruit-theme as well. How about them apples?â She paused, realizing what she just said and smiled sheepishly. âSorry, pun not intended. But! Here are the other two!â With the left hand holding a peach-themed swing dress and the right holding a lemon-themed fit & flare dress, the brunetteâs smile was bright and warm. âWhatcha think?â
emeryjparkerâ:
Emery feels like she hadnât had a day off since she moved into town. In between being an assistant at Dayton Daily to working at Take The Cake, the only time she felt like she had off was when she was climbing out of bed with her latest hook up.
Today, however, she was off for the day. She was sipping her iced coffee as she walked around town. She pulled her phone out, maybe one of her hookups would be willing to cash in for the free day. She hardly noticed where she was going until she bumped into some. âOh shoot,â she let out, looking her and the other over. Okay cool, coffee made a little mess not covered them.
âSorry about that, distracted.â
Okay, she shouldâve looked where she was going. Marisol truly should not have been on her phone while walking. And she really, really shouldnât have been playing Pokemon Go while out and about all the while not paying any attention to her surroundings. But goodness, she couldnât help it! The game was just far too addicting. Besides, itâs not like itâs that bad. Now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons though... Itâs a surprise the brunette even remembered what day or year or century it was considering how in love she was with that game.
But still, she should have been paying attention. But she is so close to catching this Snorlax... Oh, wait. Oh wait, is this it? Could she finally be catching it? The ball shakes once... Then twice... Then a third time... Victory is hers! She has finally caught the Snorlax! The woman is so happy, the grin evident on her face. However, she hadnât seen the young girl coming her way. Celebrating her little victory, she ended up colliding with Emery. âOof!â she exclaimed in shock, nearly dropping her phone but fortunately catching it on time. âOh my goodness, Iâm terribly sorry! I should have been-... Oh my gosh, Emery! Hi, sweetheart! Iâm so sorry for colliding into you like that; Are you alright?â
do you think you'll be ok if alec comes back into the picture with sadie? or are you gonna fuck him like you did nate?
âWha- I donât see Alec like that. I mean, I would like it if we could become friends, but I donât see him that way. Heâs Sadieâs lover, not mine. I just want those two to be happy together.â
@realalecchance ; @sadieremington
realalecchanceâ:
There were still a few people Alec needed to talk to and fix things with around town. Sol was one of them. They both were big parts of Sadieâs life and even if things were rocky between he and Sadie, he wanted to work it out eventually. He did still have feelings for her after all. He didnât want this tenseness between him and Sol forever. After all, he never had any issues with Sol. It was Nate he didnât like. He knew of Sol and Sadieâs history but they had ended up fixing things and making it work. He was a little shocked when she said she had met another girl. He always assumed Sol was monogamous, considering how much she hurt Sadie when they were together the first time. But then again, he also hurt Sadie so he didnât have much room to judge. âIt looks really nice, I think sheâll like it,â he said with a friendly smile, trying to not make it too forced. âUm, thanks. Iâve been pretty good, kinda all settled back in. I was able to move out of Shaneâs place and in with Calum and Callie.âÂ
She didnât want things to be awkward between them. Before Dayton, Sol never really tried to get to know Sadieâs other lovers. She had only met the couple and with them, she felt like a fourth wheel to the trio. So losing Sadie and then reuniting with her years later was a huge wake up call. She couldnât afford to lose her again; Not when she knows that Sadie is meant to be in her life for the rest of time. So, she wanted to try to at least be friendly with the other special people who hold the blondeâs heart. Plus, the few times she and Alec did spend time together to talk, they never turned negative. Sure, it wasnât like they were going out for lunches together or texting each other or something. But she didnât want to ignore him- not like how she was before. And she wanted to give polygamy a chance as well. See if it actually could work in her favor, that perhaps she wasnât as monogamous as she thought or was raised to be. While being with other people sexually has seemed to be working, she hasnât tried it romantically. At least, not until now. âThank you. Iâm... Iâm really trying to give it a chance, you know?â she mused softly. She was hopeful that he would understand what she meant, or at least have an idea as to it. âIâm glad to hear that! Itâs good to hear that things are going well. Dayton truly hasnât been the same without you.â

hollyxchoâ:
âGee, what a sight for sore eyesâŠâ Across the dressing room, Holly spots the sight of a girl twirling herself as if she was a ten year old who had just gotten back from watching that one barbie movieâ the one with all the dancing, twirling and not the mention, the terribly designed dresses. Speaking of bad dresses, the twirling wasnât even half as embarrassing in comparison to the ridiculous looking article of clothing the other was attempting to model.Â
To tell or not to tell? It was simply in her nature, the need to make unwarranted comments about literally anything. Other peopleâs style, eating habits, relationships, you name it, Holly most definitely got an opinion about it. Believe it or not, for the first time, she pondered on it. For a solid five seconds, but hey, that was a good start but with some luck, the same girl called out to her asking for her opinion herself. How fun, guess it wonât be considered unwarranted then.Â
âIf your date is Willy Wonka then sure.â She scoffs in amusement, looking the other up and down from head to toe. âYouâre not really serious, are you?â
To say the girlâs reaction had been rather a shock to the bubbly woman would be quite an understatement. However, the brunette just smiled brightly. âHe isnât, but I suppose itâs rather fun to be curious about what kind of date he would be!â she mused, her cheerful demeanor unfaltering. She knew that some people would believe that she could be rather childish, especially considering her age. Itâs been more than one occurrence of someone believing her to be much younger than she actually was, so it truly wasnât a huge surprise. Honestly, sometimes Sol herself has wondered if she should start changing that.
But, she didnât like that idea too much. She didnât want to be a bitter person; After dealing with Catholic school and growing up in a rather rough neighborhood where people expected young Latina girls to grow up quickly to be young women instead of little girls, she had made it a huge point to try and see things on the bright side of life. Being bubbly and cheerful helped her with that, especially when things got very dark. After all, why canât she be a rainbow when things become gloomy? She loves it. Of course, she had moments where she felt more like a little raincloud herself; But she was usually rather quick to get back on her feet and be the Sol Alvarez sheâs worked to become and loves dearly.
âItâs one of three! Weâre doing sort of a 50s-inspired theme with our date, and since I love bright colours, I thought that this would do rather nicely. But there could still be other choices that might work better! No harm to continue checking, right?â
hodaya-shapiro-91â:
Hodaya felt happy for the woman in the dressing room for her date. She too, was excited for the dinner that she was going to, and she wanted something casual, yet a little bit dressier than her usual wardrobe. She was going out for dinner, after all. She really liked both the palm frond top and the cactus top, but just needed help deciding on which top to buy. She had already decided to get a pair of high waisted black pants, which would go well with either shirt. She listened to the womanâs suggestion, and replied, âWell, I think this top is cute,â as she held up the cactus print top, âBut I feel like since itâs dinner and itâs an evening thing, maybe the palm frond top is more appropriate.â Hodaya then hung up the cactus print top on the clothes rack for return to the shop floor. She then turned to the woman, âSo what kind of date are you going on? Dinner? Movies?â
âOoo, thatâs fair, yeah!â she agreed, clasping her hands together behind her back and swaying slightly. She smiled warmly. Looking back at the top, her head tilted slightly in thought before glancing back at Hodaya. âI think you should get them both! The palm frond for this dinner, and then the cactus for whenever you feel like it! Plus, summerâs going to be here next month and that shirt is perfect for summertime. Whatever makes you happy, I absolutely think you should go for it.â Marisol was slightly worried if she might have been coming on too strong. The two didnât know each other, but the young woman loved fashion so much and loved seeing people be happy. Seeing someone be happy with their fashion choices was always a win-win in her book. Cheeks turning pink, she tucked some hair behind her ear. âA mixture of both! Thereâs this 50s-styled diner thatâs also combined with a drive-in movie theater that shows classic Hollywood movies in the town next over, so we were planning on doing that and then also go to the rolling skating rink- though Iâm not sure if that oneâs suppose to be before or after dinner and the movie. Considering the whole 50s vibe of everything, we decided to also base our outfits a little bit on the whole theme! Iâm honestly so excited. Plus, the theaterâs going to be playing two of my favourite movies, which just makes this even more exciting! Are you planning on doing anything before or after dinner as well? Thereâs this place called Fort Fun that features mini golf, an indoor arcade, and a laser tag if you ever wanted to check it out!â
realshanemartisâ:
As a New Yorker, born and raised, she never thought sheâd find a place that she loved more than the city. Everything about New York felt like home. But over the past few months, Dayton was finally starting to feel more like home than the cold, harsh city ever did. California was like a completely different world. And one of the best parts of it was the fact that she was so close to the beach at any given time. She loved the way the air smelled the closer she got to it, the palm trees giving it the classic beach vibes that you saw on TV. It was everything the New York beaches werenât. Shane was enjoying a rare day off, laying out on a beach chair trying to work on a tan and just enjoy the beautiful Californian weather, a flask of vodka lazily held in her hand, airpods in her ears playing her chill vibes playlist. And she was chill for once, until someone came running by and kicked sand on her, pulling her out of her little world. âJesus, watch where youâre going!â she called out to the person.
Sol loved the beach, always had. Growing up in Miami and some summers visiting family in Havana, going to the beach was practically second nature to her. Living in New York and then Denver made that a bit hard, especially the latter. Sure, it was relatively a lot easier to go to the beach with New York during the summer; But not getting to go during the winter made her a bit sad. Moving to Dayton and realizing just how close to the Pacific it was made her so happy. She tried to visit whenever she could, may it be to go swimming or surfing or a beach jog or anything. Today, it was the beach jog. Listening to her music as she ran, she hadnât seen Shane at first or realized what she did until she heard the younger girlâs voice calling out to her. âShoot, Iâm so sorry, Shane!â She quickly slowed down, pulling her ear buds out and staring at the brunette with wide apologetic hazel eyes. âI didnât see you there, otherwise I wouldâve been more careful! Can I make it up to you? I could buy you lunch, if you want!â

Alec had yet to find a real job since being back in Dayton. Apparently it didnât look good when you were fired from a job at Target and then had a three month gap in your resume. So because of that, he was still doing side jobs that didnât need a resume. Today he was door dashing. He had just dropped off the order to the person working the check out of the store when he heard a familiar voice call out to him. He froze for a second when he registered that it was Sol talking to him. He never had a problem with Sol when they were all in Sadieâs life, it was Nate he didnât like. But now that he had hurt Sadie and had come back to town, he was nervous to talk to her. He wasnât sure what she thought of him after everything. âUm,â he turned and looked at the dress she was wearing. Is this a date with Sadie? Or someone else? he thought to himself. âI, uh, itâs cute,â he said with a slightly forced smile. He knew nothing about girls fashion but he wanted to be nice and friendly to her.Â
She froze the moment she realized who it was. âAlec,â she breathed out, trying to find the right words to say. While her initial anger over him leaving all of the sudden and then showing back up out of the blue months later, overall hurting the girl they both love, has dimmed a bit, a part of her was hesitant on trying to talk to him. She wanted him and Sadie to work things out, to possibly get back in the future the same way she and Sadie did. It would take work and wouldnât be easy, but she wanted to root for them. They deserve another chance to try and grow their relationship. And Marisol wanted to support them, to be in their corner and cheer them on. But at the same time, she wasnât sure exactly what she could do. She didnât want to sit by idly and do nothing, but she didnât want to pull a Nate and interfere and potentially make things worse. She just wanted the two to be happy, especially together. God... Has this all happened years ago, Sol wouldâve felt and reacted differently. But now, she was more than okay with sharing Sadieâs love. She wanted to do it, wanted to root for her girlfriend and her other romantic relationships. Especially if one of them features Alec. âThank you. I met a girl at the last wedding I worked on and she seems really nice.â Sol smiled warmly, her hands fidgeting together slightly. âHow have you been? You look good.â
hodaya-shapiro-91â:
Hodaya was at a clothes shop, looking for an outfit to wear because her in-laws were coming to visit her and her husband, and she just wanted to look nice for the night she and him will take them out for dinner. After combing through shirts that she thought werenât her aesthetic, she selected a couple shirts from the racks that caught her eye, and then made her way to the dressing rooms. She noticed the other woman who was doing the twirl test with her dress and heard her question. Hodaya replied, âThatâs a cute dress. I think your date would like it.â She held up the two shirts, âI, on the other hand, am taking my in-laws out for dinner. Which shirt should I get?âÂ
âI hope so too,â she mused happily. From what she had gathered with the other girl, she was also into bright colours. So this could be an absolute win! At least, she certainly hoped so. Sol was starting to become more open to the idea of dating another person along with Sadie, and she was already starting to like the girl she was going out on a date with. With things were to progress that way, she certainly wanted to take the chance. Glancing over, the event planner smiled brightly. âI really like the cactus one! I think that you would look amazing in it. But the other one might be more sophisticated... How fancy is the dinner suppose to be? If itâs more casual, the cactus would be great. But if itâs more on the upscale side, it might be best to choose the darker pattern. But so far, my vote is for the cactus print!â
sophiecrainâ:
Sophie loved having a good time and drinking was a good part of that. She nodded at the girl, âIâm celebrating living life to the fullest and being young.â She chuckled as she took her shot before motioning for the bartender and ordering the two drinks, the spiked Shirley Temple and her own Vodka, water, lime drink. . âIâm Sophie, Sophie Crain Lovely to meet you Sol.â She smiled at the other girl. âNot a big drinker are you?â She asked curiously as she turned to give her her full attention.
âOh, hear hear! Iâll most definitely drink to that!â she cheered brightly. After the recent passing of her friendâs husband, she has most certainly found herself cherishing life more. They were all honestly here so briefly; Sol was most certainly wanting to work on living her life to the fullest more. âThe pleasure is all mine, Sophie. Thatâs a very beautiful name!â Laughing slightly, she shook her head. âNot really, no. Iâm honestly such a lightweight, itâs quite humorous. I only ever really drink a lot when Iâm with my girlfriend or friends and weâre at someoneâs house with the plans of staying the night or something. What about you? Do you drink often?â
If there was one good word to call Sol, âshopaholicâ would be a good one. It was honestly a bad habit of hers, but she couldnât help it! She loved fashion, always wanting to experiment with it. While she has a typical aesthetic she pertained to (bright, colourful, unique prints and patterns, statement pieces, a good often or not either pastel-themed or something like a rainbow in human form), sometimes she experimented with different eras of fashion. And she absolutely uses going on dates as an excuse to buy more outfits. After scoring a date with a beautiful maid of honor from the last wedding she planned. After finding an adorable dress she was certain her date would like, sheâd been admiring herself in it in the mirrors at the dressing rooms before doing a twirl test. The brunette smiled brightly, becoming slightly dizzy as she stopped before noticing someone. âOh- hello!â she called out cheerfully and waved. âWhat do you think? Iâm going out on a date tomorrow night and I think she might like it!â
aidenoconnorxâ:
A smile lit his face as he heard her voice and he stood up on reflex, bracing for a hug. They had always been an affectionate pair, which Aiden had come to accept no matter how gruff he felt at times he was always a touchy feely guy, so he expected nothing less than her arms wrapping around him and vice versa. Even the kiss on the cheek was an innocent thing and though he was here to discuss some new boundaries, he didnât think that should be added. It was a weird feeling, really, having to dissect your relationship with someone and sort of cut out pieces that no longer fit. So far one was left completely mangledâŠso much so, he wasnât sure he and Ellie would come back from it. He doubted he and Solâs would suffer as muchâŠbut it didnât change the difficulty. If he wanted Cordelia to be comfortable with his friendships, it had to be done. She trusted him, yes, but that didnât mean he could conduct business as usual at least not with Sol.
âHey there, gorgeous,â he said giving her a squeeze before releasing, their hands linked, âIâm thinkin lunch? It ainât been long but surprisingly Iâve got a lot to catch you up on. Lifeâs been kinda a rollercoaster lately and Iâm just hittin a bit of a plateau. So whatâdâya say? Wanna grab a bite with me?âÂ
âThat would be great! Itâs been a rather slow day, so I can take an extended lunch as well. What were you thinking of getting? Iâm good with anything really!â After giving her receptionist the details, she grabbed her purse before holding her arm out for Aiden. She had loved it whenever they would hook their arms together or held each others hands. Finding it as a good excuse to be closer to him whenever they walked together. She was curious as to what he all needed to tell her. While it has really only been a few weeks, she could understand a million things happening all of the sudden. Heck, housing Avery for awhile, helping the young girl get situated with her new apartment, and helping Laurel and Felicity after what happened to Dex were some of the things sheâd been going through. She knew that Avery ran into some difficulties not too long ago, but the girl hadnât given her any details as to what happened. So she wasnât greatly surprised to learn that Aidenâs own life has been a rollercoaster of many different epic proportions as of lately.
âI suppose thatâs Dayton for you- always keeping everyone on their toes and never making things boring. But goodness, is everything alright? So many things has happened over the past month, my head feels dizzy! But I am so glad to be seeing you again.â
nicothatcherâ:
After a few months of living there it still didnât always feel like he really knew many people. The ones he did, well, he wasnât entirely certain heâd be able to recognize them with their clothes on. Or in the daylight. Maybe heâd been drinking too much lately but that was a thought for a different time. Mostly, when his head wasnât pounding and making him want to knock out loud mouth in the other aisle.
âWhereâs the damn aspirin?â He ground out, recognizing he was more than a little on edge. It mightâve had something to do with the bender heâd gone on but after a call from his ex-wife and his dad in the same day.. itâd been too much. The fuckers were always after him about something, grow up - get a job - do something with your life. It was a never ending stream of negativity that frankly, he didnât have the time for.
Not because he really had anything else going on but as heâd assured his dad, heâd be getting a job soon. A real one. Doing what, he hadnât figured that out but damn. Adulting was hard. For someone who felt like theyâd done a lot of grown up things from an early age he recognized he wasnât very mature. Wasnât very âadult likeâ. Nico wasnât sure what was so wrong with that, though. His dad was the most mature person he knew and also the most boring so what did that tell you? Exactly.
Marisol couldnât help feeling bad for the guy the moment she noticed him as she made her way into the aisle. He certainly seemed to have had a lot on his mind currently. Which, she can understand perfectly. He did look a little familiar though; Maybe sheâs seen him around town at one of the bars or something at some point? She wasnât sure. Hearing his plight, though, the young woman glanced over and smiled warmly. âItâs right over here!â she called out, trying to keep her usual peppiness at a much calmer bay. She didnât want to end up talking too loud or too fast and end up annoying the man.
Moving over to look at some of the other medicine, Sol glanced back at Nico. Her brows furrowed slightly, her lips tugged into a small smile. âEverything okay? You donât have to tell me anything if you donât want to, of course! I just wanted to check. You seem sad and that breaks my heart.â She was someone who liked to help make people happy. Getting them to smile or laugh just warmed her heart so much. If there was a chance of her getting to help this man with that, she wanted to take that. She didnât like the idea of this stranger to be hurting.
atlasjonesâ:
âOh come on, you have got to be kidding me.â He groaned, repeatedly turning the key over in his car, desperately hoping the engine would start. It was late at night and he needed to find somewhere to park for the night. âShit.â Atlas grunted, the car still not starting. Thankfully he had jumper cables in the backseat, but no one around to give him a boost. He waited for a moment, then two, and the reality of a car coming by that could help. Finally giving up, he let out a sigh and got out of the car, walking around and putting up the hatch on his PT Cruiser before climbing in and sitting in the trunk. The car was not only his way around, but his make shift house. He leaned against the mattress, only to spot someone a few feet away. If nothing else, he could use some company until the tow truck arrived. He slid out of the car, smiling and waving towards the stranger. âHey! Hey, you! You donât happen to know anyone with a tow truck, or a car, do you?â He questioned, desperate.
She hadnât expected to be stopped by a stranger. Especially all the while carrying the Indian takeout she had ordered. Yet as she turned her head to look at Atlas, a bright smile was quick to grace her features. âHello! I was actually about to head to my car, if that helps anything. Car problems, I take it? I get that so much.â Honestly, the amount of times she had to get her car checked out... If she didnât absolutely love her strawberry of a Volkswagen Bug, she most definitely wouldâve gotten a new one a long time ago. But sheâs had her car since high school, had brought it with her for her adventures in New York City and then in Denver. She was basically attached to it, even naming it Strawberry Shortcake. (She was obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake as a child.) âBut sure, Iâd love to help you!â
