Louis is not just Lestat's or Armand's victim. He is incredibly toxic, too. Toxic, abusive and still a pimp. Just like Armand is still a whore.

"Armand?"
Episode 5 of AMC's IWTV:
Let's not forget the source material: IWTV p. 75/76
Longterm Anne Rice readers on Facebook and Twitter are getting together to rate down the show on Rotten Tomatoes. They hope that less people will watch and the show will be canceled.
Their efforts show: The show has a 99% critics rating but only a 72% audience rating. Audience rating is where regular folks like you and me can vote. Let's change that. Go here, sign up and give our vampires the praise they deserve.
We won't take this toxic, racist, homophobic bullshit from so called fans.
Send 💬 + a rumor and my muse will react to it.
Trinity Gate. So different from the lavish palazzos of old. Still bold of course but nothing compared to the splendor of old Rome, Constantinople, or Venice. And yet it was where Amadeo had found a home. Armand. The old vampire corrected himself quietly in his mind. Armand. Not Amadeo. Armand.
Marius stood in the park across from the old building and watched. Listened. The silence was deafening. Oh, there were plenty of sounds. The huzzle and buzzle of a human megacity. The occasional vampire here and there. But nothing from Amadeo. Armand. Because he was Armand. Because he had turned him and locked him out of his mind forever. Amadeo’s thoughts had been sweet. A balm to the ancient vampire’s soul.
It’s been 500 years. And yet… And yet Marius was still so full of regret. So full of anger. And hope. Worries. And love. Always love for his beautiful angel. Maybe it was time. One way or another. It was time to decide.
And so Marius, being the honest and rule-abiding man he was, knocked on the large door of Trinity Gate.
So many of the truly old ones had died in recent years. Many of those still alive kept to themselves. The age group Marius was in was rather thinly inhabited by now but he himself was one of the few who mingled with the young and youngest. One who enjoyed sharing his knowledge and creating a future for what Lestat called "The Tribe". Marius was powerful. He had tasted Akasha's blood more than once. And when he entered Trinity Gate he could almost hear a shift in the power balance in the supernatural community of the city, the state even. Marius and Armand under one roof again.
Benji was around and Sybille. Not Daniel though. Marius couldn't hear him anywhere close.
He stepped through the door and into the great entrance hall with a smile and a nod of appreciation to Armand addressing him properly.
"Would it be too bold to state that I came here for a reason far removed from any sanity? That I came here because I miss you?"

It was a beautiful scene. At least if Marius had any sense to appreciate such things right now.
Sybille's ethereal music, the soft moonlight that shone through the branches of the park across the street, a chilly autumn breeze, Marius' red velvet robe rustling in the wind. A boy and a man long lost to each other...
But no. It wasn't like that at all. For Armand was not a boy and they hadn't been lost to each other but simply... lost.
"Armand..." There. That cursed name. Given to his boy, his beautiful, perfect boy by those monsters from Paris. And perfect he still was. The clothes were all wrong and his face was so cold, so pale, so hard but those eyes, those pretty pretty eyes...
"Forgive my intrusion. Might there be room for me in your home? For a day, or two."
He stepped forward just one step making the long velvet cloak move lightly. It was bare threaded by now. And the dust in Marius' hair barely moved when he did.
The ancient vampire looked down at the younger one.
"Armand..." So much in that word. Demands, insecurities. Hope?

Always. Always he felt a bit like a boy when summoned by the Great Marius. Strength didn't divide them anymore but age did, experience and wisdom. And Lestat was always afraid that this brat prince image he had of himself would crumble and Marius saw him as just another insolent boy.
So he was worried when he entered his study, unsure what Marius actually wanted from him.
“That new toy of yours. Did you really think I wouldn’t notice?” The ancient vampire got up and approached Lestat. He looked at him calmly but there was a storm brewing behind that calm, ready to move mountains. “A boy like that and you would withhold him from me? When it is so abundently clear that he is mine? I’m not as territorial as I used to be, my prince. But...” He smiled...
THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES FAMILY TREE
(dates and info taken from Appendix 1 in Prince Lestat)
(fullsize here)
In the light of the new era where we actually have a living, breathing TV show coming out in October (for real this time, we’ve been waiting for ages), I wanted to share this family tree I made years back after the second book in the new trilogy came out. I haven’t added the new characters from Blood Communion because I don’t think there were many or too important. And if anyone needs this as a way of keeping up with the characters or the story and not get confused, then I am confident it should suffice. I hope you’ll find it useful.
Marius sat in his armchair by the fireplace and read a book that looked like it would fall apart any second. He didn't put it down when Lestat entered.
"Our prince. Always out there hunting for new talents, breaking hearts... and necks. I've been told you're causing trouble again."
