Mark shrugged then shook his head. He always had a way of thinking that was always different. His moods changed so easily. And in certain moods no one would understand him. Like now. "Never mind. It's nothing."

She just gave a nod and let him continue, hoping that he could tell when too much was too much.

Mark took back another glass of whiskey and set it down. "Ya know. I have no idea. What." He was probably too lazy to finish the sentence because he just gave up on talking and settled with a sigh

She gave a small nod and removed her hand from his shoulder. “We could always drink until we forget. Everyone has a lot of skeletons in their closet, you’re not the only one, I promise.”

“Yeah but mine are a lot more damn rotten.” He muttered before chugging down the rest of his beer and starting on the harder liquor.

Cristina watched him continue to drink, deciding to cut herself off in case she needed to help him get home alright. “That’s what you may think.”

"That's what I know. Plain and simple." He said shrugging and taking back a glass of whiskey.

She gave a small nod and removed her hand from his shoulder. “We could always drink until we forget. Everyone has a lot of skeletons in their closet, you’re not the only one, I promise.”

"Yeah but mine are a lot more damn rotten." He muttered before chugging down the rest of his beer and starting on the harder liquor.

“That’s a good philosophy to live by. I mean, why live for someone else when you can just live for yourself?” She pointed out, taking a sip of her beer. “It’s much easier that way anyway.”

Mark nodded. “Yeah. You also won’t have to bother with constant authority.” The words he just spoke pretty much stabbed him in the back. Like the person who once spoke ones like that. It gave Mark a piercing head ache just thinking about it and he put his head in is hands with a growl/groan.

Cristina watched him and carefully leaned forward, placing a hand on his shoulder as concern flooded her eyes. “Mark, are you alright?” She asked softly. “We…we can get out of here if you don’t wanna be here anymore…”

He shook his head. "No it's fine I just remembered something I'd rather forget." He said the slightest bit of annoyance in his voice as he said the last part

Mark shrugged. “I dunno.” And he wasn’t lying. He wasn’t picky when it came to girls. He’s had a couple girlfriends in the past. And they weren’t anything special. He just never gets close to people. He never lets his Guard down.

Cristina gave a nod. “I can respect that. There was a period of time where I didn’t know what I liked until I actually just sat down and thought about it for a while,” she said honestly. That was true since she spent most of her time buried in books and not in other people’s pants like some of her friends.

Mark nodded. "I just enjoy life rather than worrying about the opposite sex." He said casually. Mark wasn't lying that time either. Mark didn't lie often. But even when he did you couldn't tell.

Cristina smiled. “I guess so.” She looked over at him. “So what about you? What type of person sweeps you off your feet?”

Her cheeks were rosy and her eyes were a bit glossy from all the alcohol. “Hmm…my type of guy has to be…sweet. Funny guy. Sensitive. Strong. Street smart at least, doesn’t need to be some Nobel prize winner. Just someone I like and someone who likes me.”

Mark nodded. “That’s the first time I’ve asked someone that and they haven’t said ‘hot’ as an answer. I dig that answer. It’s pretty groovy.” He smiled.

Cristina laughed a little and gave a shrug. “I’m just a simple girl I guess. I mean, if he was hot that’d be pretty nice too, but I don’t require it.”

Mark laughed. "Yeah but that's a groovy way of looking at things."

“Looks like some guy is checking you out.” He said nodding towards the random guy trying not to laugh. He had been watching the party it was quite the scene after all.

The brunette followed her friend’s line of sight and faked a gag when she looked at the guy. “Ew, gross. So not my type,” she laughed, looking away and avoiding the other guy’s eyes.

He laughed and shrugged. "Oh hey. That's curly. He's actually pretty cool. Once you get to know 'em. Quite the panty dropper." He cocked an eyebrow being nosy and just plain curious. "Then what is your type then?"

"You won't get away with this!"

Mark simply let out a grin. “I get away with EVERYTHING that’s just how it works out. Sorry sweet cheeks.”

“Didn’t plan on it.” He said still walking.

He got to his car and stopped. “I’m sorry ma'am but you’re going to have to stop stalking me. I know you’re obsessed with me but you’re just not my type.”

“ I am NOT obsessing over you,” She growled,” YOU’RE  being a jerk even though you know who’s responsible.”

Mark rolled his eyes. “Yeah okay. Keep thinking what you wanna think but i think the angry guy coming towards you is really who you’re looking for. Should’ve listened to me kid. Now you’re in deep.” He pointed to the angry vaguely familiar guy coming towards her and gave her an ‘I told you so’ look. “And I’m not a jerk. I bought you food. Be grateful.”

Alora spun around and all the color drained from her face. She wasn’t looking to beg for him to take her in his car so she just took off down the road

“Next time be grateful to people who buy you food.” He yelled after her. He said a quick ‘hey’ to the angry guy and he nodded a hey back then took off after her. Mark simply shrugged and got in his car and started it. Humming to himself.
