The Women of Punk and Hardcore, Documented by Angela Owens
To see more of Angela’s photography from all around the US, follow @angelaowens on Instagram.
“Women have always been a part of punk and hardcore, but we’ve always had to fight for space and recognition. And while that hasn’t completely changed, I think in the past few years, more women are getting the recognition they deserve, and then inspiring other women. There’s still a long way to go before it’s even remotely equal, but I’ve definitely felt a change. It’s very important to me to document people involved in punk and hardcore who have been underrepresented in the past. I can think of so many women who have been forgotten by history — it’s heartbreaking. In twenty years, if someone wants to know what hardcore was like in the US in 2017, they’re going to see a room full of women participating and supporting each other. That’s what I want to preserve.” —photojournalist Angela Owens (@angelaowens)

Domus Aurea in México
From the architects Alberto Campo Baeza + Gilberto L. Rodríguez:
For a Spanish architect, to build a house in Mexico is a privilege. To build a house in Monterrey is a gift. To build the TEC lottery house in Monterrey is amazing. And, logically, I did my utmost to ensure that this house would be the most beautiful in the world. That is my stated intent with every new project that falls into my hands. And of course, if Barragán is always present in all my architecture, he is even more in this case, which is why I decided that not only would my house be flooded with light, but that it would be the golden light of Barragán.
With this in mind, after creating a diagonal space resulting from concatenating two spaces of double height, I decided to gild the high vertical wall on which all the southern light would fall and fill it with this much-coveted golden hue. Accordingly this light-filled house would be literally flooded with golden light, and thus become a veritable DOMUS AUREA.

Hello, everybody - Today I updated the Advanced Perspective web store today with three new releases. Advanced Perspective number three, four, and five. Here is the link for the store: advancedperspective.bigcartel.com. I’m really happy with this batch, and I hope you are too if wish to purchase any. A few things– Skourge release is a tape consisting of their first two demos. Just something simple to hold over until they write new music. Marrón release is a tape including four new songs that will be on their upcoming LP being split released released by Verdugo Discos & I. I’m very excited about this. Verdugo is a great label, that’s done right, putting out, real, potent shit. Moving Along by Jerrod Stith is a full bleed photo zine consisting of his photos while on tour and at home. This was supposed to be out awhile ago, but I’m glad it’s finally here and looks better than ever. I’m relieved I can put out a band that sounds like Cold as Life, another band that takes influence from the revolution summer, and a photo zine, at the same time - without feeling pigeon holed, That’s all I ever wanted with this. Now that these are out I’m working on the next few. ADV number 8 should be out in November. Maybe even by the end of this month. After that, there should be three more (video) releases being worked on. More news when that comes into fruition.
