Pablo became well-known all around the world with the 1991 publication of the book ‘Ayahuasca Visions: The Religious Iconography of a Peruvian Shaman.’ This Peruvian self-taught painter is one of the world’s greatest visionary artists, renowned for his incredibly complex, colourful and intricate drawings of his visions from drinking the Ayahuasca brew. Pablo paints with meticulous botanical precision the Amazonian landscapes and the essential mythic content of his visions, which he received during his years of practice as an ayahuasquero. Pablo depicts spirits, magic tropical plants, unknown cities, spiritual animals, celestial realms, extra- terrestrial beings, sacred geometrical figures, sorcerers in battle with shamans, all revealed to him by ayahuasca.
