Gotta say I love Babies with Hats & was very excited to make some hats for these twins and get to spend a week on Folly beach with them.

So happy to have created this "Matchy" Dress & Bowtie

There is something earned from that joy; it has come from a place of great pain. ~praying drunk stories by Kyle Minor
Cascada Reina thought I was in a dream when we came upon these stairs at the bottom of this waterfall. Pure joy to walk up this log into a waterfall

I am not so good at keeping a journal, so for 2012 I am trying to do a picture journal. The goal is to do one picture a day, but the days are flying by, so I've missed a few.
So excited about my christmas presant! Aaron finished the walls and floors for me, he matched the color of the walls to a slate rock we found one day hiking. Last Saturday we painted the quilt pattern called Flying birds in the center & a more detailed version on the landing.
Making wreaths is easy!
All I did was cut coffee bags into 4 inch strips (more or less) and folded them accordian style.
Then take a wire hanger and undo the pieces and bend into a circle shape.
Thread the burlap onto the wire hanger. You will need a lot, I ended up using about 4 coffee bags.
Once the wreath is stuffed completly, where it wont sag, twist the ends back together & hang. I used chair webbing to hang the wreath.
Christmas stockings I made this year. I used coffee bags for burlap and found some fun read and green fabric. To make them I traced an old stocking onto the burlap and cut. next I added the fabric to the wrong side of the burlap at the top. When you sew them together I liked the raw edges exposed and it made it a much quicker project. Fold the top down and add a loop and your all done. I dont plan on keeping these so they arent made to last. If you wanted to make these to last it might require some more finishing. But I do enjoy the way they turned out.
Kari's hat is finished just in time for cooler weather in Louisville. Might get down to 35 tonight. This hat is from an old vogue knitting magazine and was pretty simple to knit. It starts from the top down which was new to me but felt a little like crochet, at least thats my guess. I think I would make this one again, maybe for myself one day.
Last Flowers of The Season
Im sad to think that these might be the last flowers from our garden this year. An arrangement of Pinapple Sage, marigolds, & one last petunia, Ill enjoy them while I can and maybe it will motivate to actually put the tulip blubs in the ground so Ill have early spring flowers.
Finished Chris's Cardigan yesterday. Been working on this for over a year very excited to see it on him. My favorite part of making a gift is seeing it worn so going to get some pictures of him in it to share
