Solar Return Observations
Chapter II. Earth energy and the basics
The earth energy in our solar return will ask us to take a break before moving forward. We will feel and admire how far we've come; breathe in the growth, exhale what we were carrying, and reconnect with what we truly value. It will be a less hectic year, in which we will prefer or experience a calmer time. We will learn to enjoy the small things we have achieved or even those we have always been surrounded by. It is a year to prepare our foundations, what we plan to use for later years; perfect for materializing ideas, working on the constant development of skills, and preparing ourselves to become the person we want to be.
Having a Rising in an Earth sign leads you to have a more focused and realistic view of the situations you experience, the areas in which you operate, and of course, yourself. "What do I want to build?" "What do I want to work on?" Earth energy leads you to think deeply, not only about where you want to go, but also how to get there. Where fire brings the spark, earth invites you to prepare, analyze, and plan. You'll see things as they are and feel more connected to reality.
Taurus Rising shows us that we will be in a constant search for stability throughout the year. We will focus on cultivating comfort, finding moments to relax and take a break. However, being an earth sign, Taurus here invites us to be productive and hardworking without compromising our well-being and happiness. We may be somewhat reluctant to change and let go of things that no longer serve us, but by doing so, we can move toward things that will be objectively more beneficial to us. We will have the mindset to pursue our financial stability more independently, and not just this kind of solidity, but also the kind that goes hand in hand with the certainty of doing things we feel comfortable with. Hard work doesn't have to be taken to the extreme that leads you to be negligent with yourself; we see this clearly when we see that Venus rules this rising. It's about falling in love with the path again. With our path.
Virgo Rising reflects that we will have a more focused attitude, seeking to focus on our path, without getting sidetracked by things that don't align. However, being a mutable sign, it can lead us to want to take on too many things at once. There may be an area of ââyour life where you feel very chaotic. It's optimal to take a look at where Mercury is in the chart, as our answer lies there; and this year you will clarify many things regarding the themes of that house. There will be nerves and stress throughout the year; these stem from a lot of mental energy; it's crucial to find areas or ways in which you use this energy. It's a very giving sign, showing that you've done an excellent job supporting others, so it's time to sustain and prioritize yourself. So yes, creating routines and habits that revolve around yourself will be likely this year.
Capricorn Rising indicates an appreciation for your time, worth, and potential. Throughout this year, you will learn to use your time and energy on things that are valuable to you. Remember that Capricorn is a cardinal sign, which makes it a sign linked to achievement and conquest. You will define what you want to achieve and work toward them. A rising ruled by Saturn shows us a lot of growth for you this year, along with small tests: "did you learn the lessons of last year?" The rewards may come late, but they can be highly rewarding. So yes, patience will be one of the lessons to learn in your solar return. There will be considerable growth after an effort that may feel overwhelming, especially in the areas where Saturn is present (sign of domicile): greater direction and learning (3rd house); emotional growth and healing from the past (4th house); greater connection with yourself and assertiveness (5th house).
đŤ The ruler of the 1st house in the 2nd house or vice versa, shows that our focus falls on issues linked to value, from the internal to the external level. We will be focused on our self-esteem, working on it and rebuilding it in some cases. While it reflects a focus on our management of our finances and, in general, the money or valuables we possess, it can also reflect changes in our personal value system, leading us to rethink whether what we value is truly based on our own convictions, or if it is based on what we have learned over time. We must guard against this mentality of "we are worth what we have."
đŤ The ruler of the 1st house in the 6th house or vice versa, indicates interest and energy directed toward our personal well-being, both physically and mentally. One of our focal points is our body and its care, implementing habits that help us love and pamper ourselves more. This could be a year in which you address some area of ââyour health, from frequent visits to the doctor, starting/resuming therapy, and even visiting nutritionists. It can increase drive, ambition, and energy in the workplace, which can lead to better positions. It's a perfect year to carry out individual plans or personal goals, as it shows organization and dedication to them.
đŤThe ruler of the 1st house in the 10th house, or vice versa, indicates that your focus will be on your work life and your long-term goals and plans. This year, you can aspire to a promotion or embark on a new career path where you feel you can explore your potential or work on something where you feel comfortable, aligned, and even more valued. You'll seek to focus on long-term projects, relationships, or plans, making this year perfect for all kinds of projections and securing a better future for yourself, even if you don't see the benefits until a couple of years later. If you decide to undertake a project, it may progress somewhat slowly, but it can bring you great rewards (this will be enhanced if the ruler is part of a grand trine, or if it makes harmonious aspects with Jupiter, Venus, or Saturn).
đŤHaving the Moon in an Earth sign in this chart can make you need more physical rest, leading you to feel drained or overwhelmed easily. This type of Moon can also bring contradictory feelings, because while your body craves rest, your mind will crave activity due to the need for achievement and creation (Moon) of stable things that generate results (Earth energy). Throughout the year, you will need to find a balance. Give your body the rest it needs, and don't be so demanding of yourself. Emotionally, you won't want to deal with drama or exhaust yourself, as this Moon needs the opposite. This will lead you to distance yourself from situations or relationships where you constantly feel in limbo or tense.
đŤThe house in which Capricorn is located reveals the area of ââyour life where you may experience the greatest number of responsibilities throughout the year; it's crucial to also consider the planets in this sign. I have the theory, and that is that it can also show the areas where you will experience the greatest growth, and the tools to find professional fulfillment at least for that year. For example, the Sun or 5th house in Capricorn indicates using your talents in the workplace, turning a hobby into your job; putting yourself out there and stepping out of behind-the-scenes roles can be a great asset to grow at work. (Let me know if you would like a post about this theory.)
đŤVenus in an Earth sign for single people symbolizes a cautious approach to love; they are more observant and will choose a partner based on the criterion: "Does being with them feel as good as my time alone?" If they meet someone who interests them, things progress gradually, naturally, and somewhat slowly. And if this Venus falls in an Earth house, they may find romantic prospects in the workplace. For those in a relationship, this Venus symbolizes a period of calm with their partner, and if it is well-aspected with Moon, Midheaven, 7th House ruler, or Saturn, it can indicate that the relationship may formalize or get more serious.
đŤMars in an earth sign indicates a more cautious and analytical approach when starting anything. The first filter is, "Is this worth my time?" Things are no longer seen as a whim to chase because "life is short," but rather as an investment: of time, energy, and effort. It's advisable to proceed with planning and order. Multitasking may be something the native struggles with throughout the year, and it's important to keep in mind to do one thing at a time to avoid increasing stress.
đŤHaving a stellium in the 2nd house indicates growth and financial stability this year, and its placement here suggests a much more sensible and organized approach to money management (this effect may be amplified if the Sun, Jupiter, and/or Venus are also placed here). Money-related lessons are likely.
đŤA stellium in the 6th house suggests the possibility of a job change or multiple responsibilities in our work life. Given that it's a busy year, it's necessary to detach ourselves from the need to help everyone solve their problems, since this can add to your stress. There may be some saturation in the workplace. Getting a new pet is also likely.
đŤStellium in the 10th house indicates a strong desire to stand out, to achieve new things that bring us closer to the version of ourselves we want to be. Professional advancement is likely, as is some form of recognition.
đŤ Earth signs in air houses (3rd, 7th, and 11th houses) show us that your social circles may become smaller, as you'll begin to apply greater filters when interacting with other people. You won't give just anyone a space in your life; you'll be more observant and careful with the people you give your time to. You'll focus on creating relationships where you feel supported and sustained, rather than being the person burdened with everything others don't want to deal with. This increases the chances of creating lasting connections, and if there are harmonious aspects with the ruler of these houses and Jupiter, Moon, or Venus, it can show us great long-term satisfaction.
đŤ Earth signs in the 10th house symbolize significant professional growth. It's the classic indicator of someone who has worked hard and is ready to reap the rewards of their labor. Professionally, you may feel like you're standing on more stable ground that gives you greater confidence. You may work in areas that require you to provide more stability or to have control over the core of your work (management, administration, or even a job where you have the upper hand). If Uranus or Pluto are wandering through this house, it can indicate a change of career to one where you feel things are clearer and more fair or right for you.
