He's come to one of those natural springs and he can't help but to look around to see if anyone was watching. nobody? okay. he starts shedding clothing until he's completely naked, then jumps into the bubbling, hot water. best. day. ever.
egotiisms said: "Start stripping! It’s fun when you get used to it."
"I would die of embarrassment. and shame."
"Why is everyone getting naked? I don't understand."
'Challenge' eh? He didn't have to read too far into this one to make the connection. His energy was carefully blazed and controlled, seasoned and practiced- he had to be a fighter. Survival instincts ought to have him be wary of that note, though he paid little mind. It shouldn't be much of an issue regardless. Humans seemed to taken a liking to the eastern border ever since it was cleared up- he probably stumbled in from there. The avatar nodded once in accordance, giving him a sidelong glance in return.
"You won’t find any more humans further within these borders, I’m afraid. Many stick around the routes nearby, possibly linger for a beat, but aptly leave. For good reason." He paused, then continued to gaze outside the cavern. His lips stretched in the smallest of manners- was that a smirk? "You found yourself at the Giant Chasm." He probably wasn’t native to these lands if he weren’t aware of it by now.
A chasm? certainly not the ideal home for the average person. or pokemon. or for someone who wanted even the most minimal of interaction. but he supposed that it was a perfect place for someone who wanted to stay hidden. why they would want to be hidden, he didn't have a clue. he moved closer to the other and sat cross-legged "giant chasm? as in... a desolate, quiet place? no one here? silence?"
the mind plate stirs once; old & eternal does it stay. more voices thrive around the very psyche, those pulses humming beneath things small & big. did not the CREATOR sing that song? long ago, it almost feels like a lost vision. no greater fruit could grow than the love ( o’ what vast love iit is ) of one’s originator surely, or of steps treading carefully among old stone.
‘do you come for answers?’
His mind has felt the presence of many beings, both wanted and some unwanted. but when the mind of the original one touched his, it was as if a galaxy had burst inside his head. "indeed I do. would it be an inconvenience to you?"
"… ‘K. Alright, then. Let’s do this." He wasn’t quite used to the feeling of catching a non-Water-type, suddenly acutely aware of the large amount of useless Net Balls in his Bag, but he puffed out his chest and beckoned forth his monster of a Jellicent, a gentle but ruthless giant.
"Get ‘im with Energy Ball, dude!" he called, hand thrust forth as if reaching out. He decided to play it safe with a non-STAB move, knowing Shadow Ball would have no effect; despite his appearance Marlon was a strategist when he wanted to be (to some extent). Jellicent’s Special moves were quite the spectacle, but he was a slow, hulking thing and there was some buffer time between the charging and the burst of energy; unfortunately the move was avoided, even with Jelilcent’s air expulsion tactic. This guy was speedy, and Marlon would have to accommodate.
The charging ball of energy was launched toward him and the Medicham wasted no time in rushing toward it. when he got within a reasonable distance, he twisted his body to barely graze the energy ball, dodging a mere inch from the attack. he stopped for a second to stare at the Jellicent. it seemed very bulky. better start off with a heavy attack to try and gauge its defenses. he closed his eyes and focused his power, his own ball of energy forming near his forehead. his eyes snapped open and Tao sped towards his opponent, his Zen Headbutt attack ready to possibly strike.
"I've never been one for those pokemon competitions, but I am sure I could win one. I may be made for combat, but I'm... cute, right? what do you think?" not that he cares or anything.
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Tao," smiled Kuzumi as he bowed his head in respect. This done, his smile would have turned puzzled as he was thanked for the apology. He wasn’t sure why, exactly, the humans were rude enough to not apologize, but Kuzumi wasn’t entirely surprised.
"Ah, there’s no need to thank me. I believe in courtesy, even if it’s a dying art in the modern day."
The martial artist sheepishly scratched his cheek at that thought. His king would be so disappointed in the direction humanity grew, as far as manners went. He’d be especially sad if he knew humans treated this person so inconsiderately, too.
"Do you need help with anything? I could try to make some blocks to make up for walking into you."
Tao was a little surprised by the other male offering to help him with anything else. he did need a little help collecting wood for his campfire. and logs were needed for makeshift pillows. other than that, he could do anything else himself. "since you're offering, I could use your help gathering wood and logs for my campfire. I could collect the wood if you could find any nearby logs." maybe his meeting the other wasn't so bad after all.

◤The other ones words interested the silver haired man, his hand bought up to his lips as he thought over how many other types of pokemon there must have been. Maybe a few hundred? Shaking his head he looked to the Medicham and smiled weakly. “Only traveling for the moment, I will be returning home soon though.” It was coming to the time when he had to check up on the younger pokemon that he had ‘adopted’ earlier back in Kanto.◢
"Home is where the heart is, everyone says. do you have your own territory?" Not that he would know much about having a home. sticks, stones, and leaves mad up the makeshift shacks that he created. not that he was even good at making temporary homes.
"Hah.” The assent of amusement came from his mouth as he leaned back against the trunk of the tree. “Eventually being not when someone else was in the vicinity to have to hear it and be awoken, perhaps.” Yes, he was going to make this difficult for the other. There was no real reason not to, actually. He had nothing better to do. “Perhaps you ought have looked around to see if someone was here before y’know, making loud noise. You never know who you might piss off.” Especially if they were a legendary god of death and destruction. Not that he was pissed off, he was perfectly fine.
"It surprises me how little some of us are aware of our surroundings. One must wonder if it’s the human forms that dilute that. …wouldn’t be surprised."
He played with a strand of his bound, pink hair. the words of the other were heard by Tao, but he didn't too much care if the other was interrupted from his nap or not. the boulder was in his way, so he removed it. if the other happened to be bothered by such an act... oh well. "I don't really care whether I interrupted you or not. you could have resumed your nap by now, you know."
Kuzumi had been humming little tunes to himself, smiling to himself as he got the birds and like to sing along with him, when he accidentally bumped into someone. Startled, the martial artist stopped humming to look at the person for the briefest of seconds before he dived to catch as many pokeblocks as he could.
He didn’t catch them all, but at least he tried.
"Ah, no, don’t worry about it," grinned the martial artist as he helped gather the blocks he failed to catch. "I was so busy getting the forest to sing that I forgot to pay attention to my surroundings.”
Whenever they had all the blocks gathered, Kuzumi would offer what he had on him; grin still apparent on his features.
"I’m Kuzumi, by the way. Mind if I ask who are you?"
Well that was new. the humans would normally place all the blame on him and not even think to apologize. the other male stunned him with such an act of kindness. he took the blocks from the other and put them in his sack, deciding that some were better than none at all. "Tao. I'm Tao. I don't encounter many humans who apologize, so... thank you. for helping me pick up the blocks and for the apology."
He had been carrying a bag of assorted pokeblocks that he had managed to create in about two hours' time. but he had collided into someone just as he was entering the forest that held his temporary camp. and the blocks went everywhere. "I'm sorry, it was all my fault, I should have been looking, please forgive me..." he's just going through the apologetic motions with a monotone voice.
His fishing outing had been generally peaceful all day, but suddenly the line starts tugging with the weight of a catch and Marlon starts excitedly, nearly dragged back by the thing. He starts reeling with an enthralled “Uihaa!” and—
He had seemed to have a rather profitable nip, but upon reeling in his catch Marlon finds it is not a Water-type at all on his line, but a… Medicham… person… being lugged ashore. His Jellicent already poised to fight, Marlon bids it stay back and examines the striking individual.
"Shoots… Uh… Keep you? You a’ight, man?"
Ah... a Jellicent. he had tested his strength against many bulky opponents, but never a Jellicent. he would be pleased to do battle with the blue giant. just give him a minute so he can streeetch... streeetch... ring the water from his long, pink locks of hair and he should be good! "hm? yes, I'm fine. now the agreement only lasts for a week and then I'm free to go. I'm not looking for a trainer at the moment. now then... ready?" well this is new. any normal trainer would probably be boasting about how they were going to "own" him and be the champion and blah, blah, blah.
Well he had been meditating on a sea boulder, but the next thing he knows, he has a hook in his pant leg and he's being fished ashore. great. now his whole body is soaked and his hair is wet. "alright, I believe we both know how this goes down. one pokemon each and if you win, you can keep me for about a week. good?"
He's trying to decide between a regular potion and a hyper potion. he looks pretty beaten, but that's nothing new. he wants to heal himself, but he doesn't want some potion to do all the work. hm... better ask someone. "um... excuse me. can I get your opinion?"
"Perhaps climbing over it would have been less noisy.” Yvel had been overly surprised that he’d not been noticed lounging in the tree overlooking the other and the bolder. He saw fit to speak after the rather loud hit the bolder took. Not that he didn’t like destruction; he loved it. It was just simply he was relaxing and had rather liked the quiet and the sudden strike had startled him, which set him off to be rather annoyed with the other that was there at this current point.
"Surely if you could crush it in one kick, climbing it or even jumping it should have been no problem."
In truth, he hadn't even considered that option. it seemed perfectly logical. but he wouldn't admit his lack of thinking to a total stranger. instead, he would dust his hands off and think of a quick lie; an evasion from the truth for his convenience. "then it would have just been in the way of others. someone would have crushed it eventually."
Had he been in a less groggy state, the avatar probably ought to try and drive the intruder out for storming into his chambers as he rested. The scouts, he knew, had gone to do a border patrol further south, so this one may have slipped by. It was… interesting that it was pulled off, to say the least, though he has gotten less and less strict with fellow Pokemon coming and going over time. The natives would have done the job if he was a suspicious character, anyway.
"… Well, that is certainly one way to put it," he muttered in a half groan, pushing himself up from his pelt of Mamoswine hide. Yellow orbs slid to eye the trespasser with a near apathetic expression. "I could quite say the same of you… What brings you here?"
He supposed that he should consider himself to be more than lucky to have come so far with so many obstacles in his path. he couldn't have possibly fought off every single pokemon thus far. he was strong, but he wasn't a legendary. powerful punches and blasts of psychic energy could only do so much. "I was looking to challenge the nearby humans, but I got too curious and followed the land to... here. not that I know where I am."
