I think people should focus less on the fact that Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty and more on the fact that she is the goddess of love

Why are there so many adaptations making Aphrodite a mean girl that can't see a woman being complimented for her beauty without feeling threatned? Aphrodite would probably be helping them get together being like a fangirl when they kiss for the first time lbr
