TMA headcanon that may not be at all supported by actual canon but I don’t care:

What if all the horror writers the characters are named after… don’t actually exist in the TMA universe?

Like, obviously M.R. James didn’t exist at all, or if he did he was just some random Cambridge scholar who never told a ghost story in his life. Dracula was written by Sir Henry Irving (and Tim’s descended from Irving’s theater manager, a very stuffy boring fellow named Abraham). Algernon Blackwood was a Canadian dairy farmer who wrote occasional metaphysical essays. Instead of being the pseudonym of Stephen King, Richard Bachman is the name people know (but only for the Bachman books, not the King ones). Clive Barker writes children’s books.

Look, all I’m saying is that Team Archives doesn’t exactly lack genre awareness, and since they’re all nerds, I can only assume that the landscape of horror fiction in the TMA ‘verse looks very different to what we’re used to.
