Last gig with Lowlife and a surprise
As some of you may know I am/was vocalist at a band called Lowlife. If you haven't checked them out yet, you can do so on Facebook or Soundcloud. Links below. Today was my last show with them as I will quit and continue with music that will grant me a bit more creative freedom and fulfillment. Anyways, we played at a band contest where we obviously were way too heavy for the audience and the rest of the bands that were involved, but for some reason we actually qualified for the next round of the contest. Shit happens. I will upload a video of the gig soon. You can judge for yourself if we were deserving of advancing in the contest. :D Lowlife on Facebook. https://facebook.com/lowlifehc Lowlife on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/lowlifehc
Recently I bought this hoodie on a Sail This Ship Alone show. Nice one, eh? And it's REALLY warm, too. Will get me through the winter. They also gave me a download code for their album »Coma«. I shall review it on here soon. :D If you haven't, check out Sail This Ship Alone on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SailThisShipAloneHC They still have more than enough merch for everyone, and they also released their album on vinyl if you're even able to play that back.
Hey guys, sorry about my inactivity so shortly after starting this blog. I've been moving, had a lot of work and issues with my family that kept me off tumblr. Soooo. Did you know the guys from I Watch Mountains Grow have produced a video all by themselves? The video for »In Conflict« is not to be taken so serious, but hey - it's great for a home made video. By the way, Ben-G has, to the shock of everyone, cut off his butt-length dreadlocks...! So go over to Facebook, like their page, and tell him that he needs to grow those back! Just because I can't get enough of it. I seriously start imitating goat screams every time I hear that song playing.
Another local band we had the honor and pleasure of sharing the stage with. Give em Blood are a band you probably won't get to see live since they're going to play their last show on October 4th in Gleisdorf, Austria, well before they reached the pinnacle of their success. For those who cannot be there, please enjoy their latest music video »Beautiful Black Heart« Give em Blood on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/giveembloodband
If you don't know Nasty, you probably don't even know there's a genre of music called beatdown. »Slaves to the rich« is one of their recent music videos. Very direct lyrics wrapped in bone-crushing breakdowns. What do you think about their music? Nasty on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/getnasty
Informative blogs
Hello everyone! I'm still looking for more blogs to follow and what I would really appreciate would be informative blogs about music of genres like Post-Hardcore, Deathcore, Mathcore, and so on. I don't really care so much for blogs that basically only post pics of well known bands over and over, or pics with lyrics on them. I've seen more than enough of Oli Sykes. News, album reviews, recommendations. That's more what I'd like to see on my tumblr. Any suggestions?
Fitting with my previous post, check out Sail This Ship Alone's first official music video "Amnesia". If you like this kind of music, make sure to support those guys, or go see them if you can! Check out the interview of Viktor from STSA on my blog, if you haven't.
"We play a style of music that often sounds like a carcrash!"
You don't know them yet, but my friends over at Sail This Ship Alone recently released their first full length album and Viktor, their creative evil genius, did an interview with a Slowenian Webzine. If you like music along the lines of screamo and mathcore, check them out. And check out their music! A personal friend of mine and producer of many styles of electronical music who is going by the Alias of Sa(ma)ra for her ambient/soundtrack brand of music has released a video for one of her tracks. Check it out! And if you like, follow on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Samara/132603746926566

I’m pretty fucking tired of getting on tumblr and seeing a millllllion reblogs of coffee cups and bitches with flowers through a retro filter. Let’s be friends, and talk about tunes and share new music
I knew I couldn't be the only one who felt that way about most posts that are being made. Thanks for saying what needs to be said. :D

Poison The Well - "Apathy is a cold body"
A month ago I helped out Beneath The Haze on stage for the last time before they went to write new material and re-arrange themselves with a new permanent singer. We were playing at the Aera in Vienna. It wasn't so much of a show since I was constantly thinking about what I could be singing next. I had no lyrics to most of the songs and not enough time to prepare my own stuff, so it basically was all improvising on stage for me. :D Had a great time none the less. Sorry about the sound quality. Phones always tend to distort the sound.
Origin of the name
Just in case any of you wondered, where the name of this blog comes from, it's out of a song by Dead To Fall called the Guillotine Dream from their amazing album The Phoenix Throne. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LJkvgsqtnI enjoy!
Now this is embarrassing, what is wrong with you guys? I mean really, what is wrong with you? You had so much going with you, especially after that new single, and now this? I mean, I’m pretty sure we all understood you might have had a persona like this but we didn’t think you’d make it your musical influence or shove it in our faces, or at least not like this.
Capture the Crown are doing some teasing with songs on their way to releasing their coming yet-to-be-titled EP, and the first of these was Rebearth, which was truly an amazing and wonderful song from these guys. It was so deep and full of actual thought – it strayed away from the sound they presented on the record and made me thinkhey, maybe this is how they wanted to sound originally. Then this load of garbage All Hype All Night comes out and shatters all the hope I had that this band was going somewhere great. I liked the album, I liked their cover, I liked the single, but this. This is beyond me. You all went from writing a serious song with serious meaning behind it just to follow it up with this? If you’re ashamed of yourselves, I don’t blame you. This is downright disgusting. I want to say that the sound of the music and the way it’s presented helps it, and the bits of comical clips add something to the experience, but they just increase the disappointment and putridity of this release and just leave us wondering why they did this.
A word of advice for you and any other bands that are thinking of making party songs. Breathe Carolina, notKe$ha. That’s all.
All In the Name of Music gives All Hype All Night a 3/10.
Nice. But I can't say that I share the opinion that there is any entitlement as to what the content of Capture The Crown's music should be. To me that whole genre of trance/death/metalcore (and I mean very specifically that combination) is tailored to draw in an audience of next-generation scene kids. I can't say it about CtC specifically because I don't know them that well and never read an interview with them, but in general I think songs of that kind are just a mash-up of "what's cool right now". So they do one song for people who feel smart and aware, one song for the party people, another song for those who want rants about ex-relationships, and so on. So to me that doesn't come as a let-down but rather is to be expected. To be honest Rebearth didn't seem that sincere to me anyway in terms of lyrical content.
A to B life, You come before you, and Pass the flask are imo the best post-hardcore albums of all time.
Now i need to check out the bled if put like this since A to B life and You come before you are truly some of the best music I ever heard.
