What is the Marvey Bingo?
A Bingo Event is a fun gamified fanwork challenge to spread love within your chosen community. In this case, we celebrate Marvey and intend to create more fanwork featuring our beloved characters Harvey Specter and Mike Ross.
This event is run by the Marvey Discord and you must be a member of the server to participate in the event.
Basically, after you sign up, you’ll be given a 5 x 5 board (bingo card) filled with prompts in accordance with your likes, preferences, and DNWs (Do Not Wants) you’ve provided in the sign-up form. Cards are personalized and a change of squares may be requested after they’ve been sent out, so don’t worry too much about getting a prompt you won’t want to fill out. We’ll have a separate form and/or dedicated channel to create a prompt pool and anyone will be able to contribute to that pool, participant or otherwise. Also, we’ll have some generic, non-personalized cards up for grabs, so if anyone wants to join after the sign-ups are closed and doesn’t mind the lack of tailoring on their card, they can do so by picking up a card they like.
Once the cards are distributed, the fun begins! The event will span several months, and in those months you’ll “fill” as many squares on your card as you want. This is a low-effort event, so you’re not expected to fill every prompt you’re given. If you’d like to challenge yourself, you can try to make a bingo by filling 1 horizontal row (5 squares); 1 vertical column (5 squares) OR 1 diagonal line (5 squares). If you wanna go a little crazy, you’re free to do more, such as filling all 4 corners (the 4 corner squares); 2 diagonal lines (9 squares); 4 borders (16 squares); polka dots (all black or all white, 13 or 12 squares respectively); or a blackout (25 squares).
The event will be mostly focused on fanfiction, though art and other artistic mediums such as video edits or giftsets will still be accepted as submissions. The only requirements are that you have a minimum of 300 words for each fic fill and that you tag your work accordingly. We have this Tumblr account and an AO3 collection to keep track of the event’s progression and reblog the fill submissions, as well as the masterposts that'll be required to let the event mod know that you've achieved a bingo.
The interpretations of the prompt is totally up to the participants. You may interpret your squares AS YOU WISH. If you think the prompt fits, it fits. This is your card, the content belongs to you.
At the end of the event, the participants who've successfully completed a bingo or several bingos will earn to right to receive a visual chibi Marvey badge designed by our artist.
