In case you aren’t familiar, Michael Scott Moore and David Rohde are both journalists. Moore was held by Somali pirates for 977 days. Rohde was held captive by the Taliban for 7 months after being abducted in Afghanistan.

overwatch
[ID: an image created with the app "Whisper." It features a person looking to the left with overlaid text: "race is just a number"]
Check for understanding:
What phrase is being alluded to in the image's text?
Can race be reasonably described as "just a number?" Why or why not?
How is Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch relevant to this post?
— Ursula K. Le Guin, from “A Rant About ‘Technology’”
Ursula K. Le Guin on the presence of technology in her work
The whole piece is short and worth a read.
I've almost finished the Hainish Cycle. I read Rocannon's World, Planet of Exile, City of Illusions and The Word for World is Forest this week. I'd already read The Dispossessed and The Left Hand of Darkness out of order. I only have two books and some short stories left.
I don't think there's any point to asking if there are other authors like Ursula K. Le Guin. But I assume there must be other speculative fiction / sci-fi rich in humanity and philosophy.
My psychologist told me "From now on you read when you eat. The two are forever linked. That way you can never again fall out of the habit." That seemed like an impossible challenge at first, but it has been a great benefit to me.
Please recommend some books so I don't starve.
