✨Happy Pisces Season! Hope all you Pisces have such a wonderful birthday 🥳 This is my Pisces artwork that I created for @llewellynbooks 2023 Astrological calendar! It was really fun to work on-maybe the most enjoyable of the series to create ✨ Pisces which is a water sign, is considered to be the last constellation of the zodiac. It is depicted by two fish swimming in opposite directions, which is often said to represent the duality between imagination and reality. As the final one of the zodiac, Pisces is the sign that has integrated every lesson life has to offer, combining all the teachings the other signs have learned (including elation and strife, hope and fear, joy and sorrow, etc). As a result, Pisces is considered to be the most intuitive, empathetic and compassionate sign of the zodiac. The original painting sold, but I do have prints available in my Etsy shop, link in bio. “The Morrígan or Mórrígan, also known as Morrígu, is a figure from Irish mythology. The name is Mór-Ríoghain in Modern Irish, and it has been translated as "great queen" or "phantom queen". The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death or victory in battle. In this role she often appears as a crow, the badb.She incites warriors to battle and can help bring about victory over their enemies. Linktree in bio⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ The story of Persephone comes from Greek mythology. She is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, who is the goddess of the earth. In some stories, Hades, the brother of Zeus and god of the underworld, falls in love with Persephone and then abducts her as she is gathering flowers by a stream. Other stories tell a different story—that Persephone and Hades meet and both fall in love, and Persephone follows Hades back to the underworld on her own, where she becomes Queen of the Underworld. (I find that version of the story far more empowering!). ⁠⁠⁠ ⁠⁠⁠ Demeter discovers her daughter is missing and searches far and wide for her, but is unable to find her. Demeter’s grief causes the earth to die—crops fail, and famine spreads across all the lands. This attracts Zeus’ attention and he intervenes, demanding Hades to return Persephone. Not willing to completely let her go, Hades gives Persephone some of the food of the dead to eat, in the form of a pomegranate seed. As a result, Persephone must split her time-she can spend six months out of the year with her mother; the other six months she spends in the realm of Hades as Queen. How do you deal with anxiety?⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ For me, doodling and drawing can help, sometimes painting though not all the time, a walk in nature, a cup of my favorite tea with a bit of honey, snuggling with my husband, meditating and especially journaling are all great things to keep me centered.⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ This is an older painting of mine called "Flight".
