ah yes, my home
David Ogden Stiers just died. You might remember him as Cogsworth from the animated Beauty and the Beast, Jumba Jookiba from Lilo and Stitch, or Charles Emerson Winchester III from MASH, among others.
He was one of my favorite actors, and a talented musician. I will always remember him for the kindness and gentleness of spirit that fueled many of his performances, bringing life to characters in a way no other actor could.
It is said that acting is being truthful under artificial circumstances, and I have found this to be true for Mr. Stiers. The compassion he showed onscreen was achingly genuine, and both a heartbreak and a joy to watch.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us, sir.
