In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.

Work without barakah has only a certain amount of benefit and impact, while work with barakah is lasting, impactful and has optimum benefit.

It’s funny how words hold so much power. They can shatter a person’s heart but can also rebuild a broken one. They have the flexibility to be wound up with music and express immense amount of emotion. They have the aptitude to take you places you’ve never imagined, when you lose yourself in a good book. They have the virtue of giving you something to ponder on and deciphering your own meaning when you read an eloquent poem. Words do hold a lot of power, that is sometimes underestimated.

Find the magic in yourself and understand that your purpose is valid. You don't need recognition or acceptance from anyone. You are worthy. You are loved. You are amazing.
Ya Allah! Give me sabr when things don’t go my way. You know what is best for me. So help me to accept what you have decreed for me and make me among Your grateful servants. Allahumma Ameen!

Thank You Allah! Thank you Allah for the mind that produced these words. Thank you Allah, for private thoughts, shared with only You, unheard. Thank you Allah for gracing me to see another day. Thank you Allah for blessing me with the ability to say… “Thank you Allah.” Thank you Allah for the air I breathe and food I eat. Thank you Allah for my pain-stricken, but still usable feet. Thank you Allah for a place I can call home. Thank you Allah for never leaving me alone. Thank you Allah for 20/Something vision that allows me to see. Thank you Allah for quickening me by your awesome command, “Be!” Thank you Allah for all the blessings great and small. Thank you Allah for enriching my life with the ability to still shoot, kick and throw a ball. Thank you Allah for placing faith, however defective, in my heart. Thank you Allah for blessing me to know where all blessings start. Thank you Allah for bringing those who love me into my life. Thank you Allah for a concerned, loving, believing wife. Thank you Allah for peace of mind and calm of spirit. Thank you Allah for sending a Messenger with a call, and for my ability to hear it. Thank you Allah for elevating me though no virtue I possess. Thank you Allah for removing from me grief, worry, anxiety and stress. Thank you Allah for friends who have stayed by my side. Thank you Allah for the strength to withstand the waves of disbelief, rising in our world like a red tide. Thank you Allah for the gift of gab which allows me to say, “Thank you Allah, every second, minute and hour of each passing day.” Thank you Allah! Thank you Allah! Thank you Allah!

Sabr, or patience, isn’t waiting in the comfort of shelter for the storm to pass. A huge aspect of patience is perseverance: pushing forward through difficulty and continuing to forge your path, even when it can be difficult to see at times. Sabr is an active act, not a passive one. It’s not easy, but it will always be well worth it.
AbdelRahman Murphy (via islamicrays)
“There are always benefits that are hidden in what you think is a trouble. And the thing about the world is that if you enter into a state with your experience of the world, in which, whenever things happen, you *just accept* them, then you will always find the benefit. You will see them always, Allah will show them to you. You will know there is a benefit.”
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf (via islamicrays)
No one was given a blessing better or more than patience. “Patience has Ihtisab which is where you actually reckon with your Lord a reward, you are believing there is a reward coming from being patient. This brings on the Muhabbah of Allah, the love of Allah and also the abundant reward. Allah loves the patient ones, so by being patient you are incurring the love of Allah. Engendering the love of Allah. The ‘Sabiroon’ are given their rewards without any reckoning. Some rewards you get it is reckoned already whereas patience is without reckoning. No one was given a blessing better or more than patience.”

cursed child thoughts (spoilers)
SO i just finished reading the cursed child and i just can’t stay silent on this? so here are the thoughts i had while reading the book in no particular order (and probably not very articulate either bc its late at night and i just need to get this out of my system) first and foremost i will say there were definitely some parts i enjoyed (f.e. act 4 scene 4 was pretty good) and scorpius is a gem, and hermione as minister of magic is AMAZING, harry calling out dumbledore, etc i also definitely think people should read it themselves before they judge it or form any kind of opinion. especially because i’m sure many people do and will find the book to be enjoyable. i also recognize that this is supposed to be a play, and is probably visually spectacular.
however, there are also so many things that bothered me about the plot/writing, so here they are:
- its SUCH bad quality. the dialogues are cheap and boring, the characterization of most characters (esp Ron) is almost non-existent or absolutely atrocious and there are so. many. PLOT HOLES. just so many things that just dont make any sense. some parts are so dumb it hurt to read them - why does harry’s scar hurt? and how fukcing convenient is it that he can suddenly speak parseltongue again? he used to be able to do these things because he was a horcrux. did he turn back into a horcrux now? it makes no sense - the way the time turners/ time travel are used/ represented here is not consistent with how they were represented in the original series and frankly makes no sense - i probably dont need to mention that the entire thing feels like a bad messy badly thought-out fanfiction. - why is like half the book about saving cedric diggory like??? what is the point???? it felt so forced and pointless and unecessary - time turners suddenly appear?? and then suddenly another one to save the kids?? how convenient. and again, it felt so forced - the language of the play, and by that i mean the wording and syntax etc is not even comparable to the wit and artistry original series, in fact it is hard for me to believe Rowling wrote this at all - so many things that characters do/say are SO out of character its ridiculous. especially Ron and Snape. like IN WHAT WORLD - cedric diggory a death eater?? seriously??? kind, wonderful cedric?? a fucking DEATH EATER??? because he was humiliated??? this is disgusting and literally shitting on his character, no thanks - pumpkin pasty bombs? evil trolley witch?? what kind of bs -and FINALLY. this is not a new story. it added nothing new to the story of harry potter or his children. nothing. its all the old stuff all over again
that’s it i’m done. i’m just going to pretend this book doesnt exist.
The cedric part is so flimsy i felt embarrassed reading it. Humiliation can turn a good person into evil?? Doesnt make sense. Why make it abt cedric anyway??? Urrrggghh
So many injustice to hp fans
And voldemort?? A child?? With bellatrix?!?! At malfor manor?!?!? Before battle at hogwarts?!?!?!???? Where's the logic in that?? And she suddenly appears in hogwarts so easily, how can the 2 boys not see this as something strange?!?
Where 👏🏼 was 👏🏼 teddy 👏🏼 lupin 👏🏼 though 👏🏼 ?
It would have made more sense if they travelled through time to save the Order members. Like Fred, remus, tonks, ppl they're related to. Of all ppl... Huhhhhh..
Quite disappointed with the plot. Teddy lupin should've been in the picture. He is harry's godson. 😑😑
My only relationship goal is to be with someone who motivates me to become a better person and show me the potential I don’t see in myself.

If you ever see someone and they might seem to be outwardly irreligious; not praying, not dressed a certain way, not acting a certain way. Never look down upon them because perhaps they have tears that are precious, hearts that are special, souls that are great, and maybe Allah loves them more than you and is waiting for a moment of proximity to show them that.
