Fierce Deity ; blog run on pacific time, mun blocks all minors.

Rules

This blog is semi-selective & mutuals-only. I will accept asks from anons and personals, but I will only thread with mutuals.

This interpretation of the Deity is mostly headcanon-based with some sprinkles from other game sources (particularly the MM and SS mangas). Since there is so little canon information on him, I have taken a lot of liberties and this is my concept of him.

Mun blocks minors. I don't want anyone underage following me at all, even if we don't interact. I am an adult and will not have minors following me.

Muse is open to shipping. He does not have a preference to gender or race. I ship based on chemistry between muses and muns, so people I am familiar with get first dibs on relationships.

Mun works Monday-Friday, has a ton of blogs now, and is known to be a bit sporadic with activity. Please be patient with me.

About the Muse

He has always been a god, created in the moment that Hylia denounced her own divinity and blessed the first Hero's spirit with eternity.

He takes the form of Link due to Hylia's love for the Hero and to Link's lingering will at the moment of his creation. His name at birth was Hyathios ; that name would be stripped from him later.

Growing up in the now dangerous land of Hylia, he became a skilled warrior out of necessity, wandering the lands and growing stronger as he aged.

After centuries, he wandered into a timeless world and met Majora, whose power he was able to confine into a mask carved from the monster's own armor. He carried the mask with him and remained in that world for ages, watching as the world was born anew and became populated once more.

At one point, the people of Termina, as the world became known as, Hyathios was worshipped as a guardian deity. However, because of his continued possession of Majora's mask, Majora's powers began to influence him, causing him to become wild, unpredictable, and increasingly fierce.

Because he was becoming dangerous, the people of Termina began to fear him, calling him a demon, and speaking of him as the Fierce Deity, refusing to speak his name. Eventually, he was deemed too dangerous and powerful beings combined their efforts to restrain him.

Much as he had done with Majora ages ago, the Fierce Deity was confined within a mask, which was hidden away from the world for millennia.

First of all, sorry it took so long. I originally had a different sketch that I liked so much that I decided to start rendering it right away at 3 am like a maniac, and ended up hating it lol (I WONDER WHY)

Second, I am a sucker for FD with long hair, it just feels so right... And then braids came to mind so... Yeah...

What does that mean? The one he sees in his visage? He can't read minds. That's impossible. And Sheik keeps his face covered. So what about him could have possibly made the other assume he mistook him for Link? Which he didn't do, actually. There are similarities there, that Sheik could agree without a doubt. But there were far more differences than there were similarities. Sort of like siblings if he pressed for a word to compare how similar they were. There was something, it just—wasn't right.

And he left? So he was here and now he was gone. Again? It seemed Sheik was destined to just always be a few steps behind him, moving and never quite catching up. Always reaching for someone who would never reach back. A sad endless cycle that seemed to be their fate.

Well, there was no point in standing here feeling pity for himself. He was here for a different reason anyway, one that was not related to the Hero of Time. Rather the sages that he had freed but now—seeing this place? He wasn't certain he was going to find his answers here at all. There was a distinct lack of light to this land that one could feel in Hyrule, which left him to believe that they didn't worship the same goddesses that they did. Didn't have the triforce hanging over their heads constantly corrupting people who long for it.

What did this man call himself?

Fierce Deity?

That's not a name.

His thoughts are halted when the stranger points to his chest, causing the Sheikah to take a few steps back subconsciously. He doesn't need to look down to see what they were referring to, but his body does coil a bit tighter in response to the question. His appearance alone should have given the answer to that question, unless it was common for people to walk around with blood red eyes around here.

"I am Sheik, survivor of the Sheikah. What is a Fierce Deity?" That was more or less the answer to their question and one presented in turn that he really wanted the answer to. The man before him was something and it didn't feel quite right to simply call them a person or Hylian.

"I have not seen a Sheikah in a great many ages." Not since the woman called Impa who had told him he could not interfere with fate when Demise had begun stirring once more. How many dozens of centuries, millennia even, had passed since those early days? "You are the first I have ever known to come to this land."

There was no reason for a Sheikah to come to Termina, as far as the Deity was aware of, so what truly had brought this young man to this shadowed land?

Placing his hand over his heart, the Deity gave a light bow to the Sheikah. "Forgive me - it has been nearly as long as my last encounter with your people since I have used my name. I am a god from the Land of Hylia by birth, protector of Termina by choice. You may call me Hyathios, if you would prefer."

The name feels foreign on his tongue after so long, sounds like a stranger's name to his ears. Even in Termina, it was long forgotten - his moniker of the Fierce Deity remembered only in the hearts of those who resided in the land.

"What brings you to Termina, Sheik?"

It wasn't necessarily under his control. To ganondorf he still looked at him as if nothing happened. The form of groose a mere shadow within the man's grown form as he raised a lip and tilted his head. What he was seeing was a picture of the far past. Something that a figment of the eternal curse showed out of mockery not Ganondorf.

A smirk formed on his lips before he chuckled." I don't play games unless they suit me in a certain moment. Now? No. No time for them, God amongst man." The demon king spat. The echo of Groose matched his voice as he spoke like a finished echo. A whole chorus of voices followed suit when he spoke again.

"Break the border of time by merely existing through a mask? How long had you posessed the body you now hold, mm? A millennia? Eons? And you call me evil." He cackled as the unified voices of all the Ganondorf's joined him in his mockery before the faint presence of Groose vanished. Slowly fading away into Ganondorf's form as he clenched his fists.

"I wonder how tough you'd be without your precious host to bare your power..a mere mask. Nothing more."

How many souls had Demise's curse claimed over the millennia? Far more than his own had, of that the Deity was certain. There had only ever been one Hero who's body he'd possessed - the Hero of Time, so many centuries ago.

"You speak of hosts when you yourself are a parasite and plague to all who've borne your name." Legends went back ages, the name of Ganon repeating over and over. It wasn't clear to him how many times Ganon had returned, but what he knew was that, inevitably, he would be defeated by the Chosen Hero. "You may be cursed to depend on hosts to carry that ancient hatred, but my own curse is broken. This - " the Deity gestured to his own form, " - is me. No mask, no curse, no host."

It had been eons since he'd walked these lands a free god. He was still bound to rhe mask, if a mortal used it, but he carried it with him.

"Your power is stolen. My power is mine by creation. Which one of us is truly nothing without that power?"

ooc ; I've mentioned before that Fierce Deity left the world during the events of Skyward Sword, but lets expand a bit on his time before and during that Era. Since he does not become the Fierce Deity until some time during his extensive stay in Termina, I will refer to him by his given name, Hyathios.

He started life in the form of youth, appearing around 10 years old, at the moment of his creation when Hylia gave up her immortal form. Because the lands were still full of monsters and lingering demons, Hyathios spent many years fighting for his life as he grew and learned.

He learned many skills from the surface dwelling races, including hunting, foraging, music, and dance. He took a particular interest in the drum ( a skill he later used to defeat Majora). He mastered many of these skills and used them to provide for himself as he grew.

He has no sense of how much time passed between his creation and the first rumblings of Demise's return. It would be a very long time before he understood how long had passed.

When Link first descends to the surface, Hyathios has grown to a teenage form, not much older-looking than Link himself. Because of his physical similarity to the First Hero, monsters targeted both Link and himself.

He may even have run into Ghirahim, who wouldn't have realized there was a difference between Hyathios and Link at first glance. Any meeting between them would be dangerous if Ghirahim realized the truth about the young god - surely his power would have been sacrificed to Demise, had he been caught.

He may or may not have met Link, Zelda, or Groose - he certainly has seen all of them from a distance, but he does not recall actually meeting them.

Because he could not interfere with Link's destiny - told as such by Impa herself - Hyathios traveled across the still wild Land of Hylia, steering himself far from the inevitable battle between the Chosen Hero and Demise. It was during these travels that he came across the ever-moving gateway to Termina.

Hyathios would not see Demise's defeat, but he would sense it. His connection to the Land of Hylia would ensure he always had some sense of what happened in his homeland.

"Demise...that name is familiar to me.. no matter.." a flash of Groose forms out of the man. His expression corrupted. Angry. Fists clenched in rage as he stared at the deity. His soul cursed by Demise as gloom spreads from him like a wave. To think a man who was once Link's friend would wind up in a endless cycle of suffering and pain..

It hurt to see it. Friends turned eternal enemies and now. He was amidst playing the role of the demon king this time.. a shame..that no one could save the decendent of the Gerudo people from this fate.

He regarded the Demon King with a tilt of his head, eyes white and cold as snow as he studied the mortal man - despite all the power emanating from Ganondorf, stolen and enhanced through the stone embedded in his forehead, he was still only mortal. The Deity could see through the powerful exterior to the very heart of the other and that was how he saw the boy from eons ago, one who had once fought alongside the hero of now ancient times.

"Demise really took his first victim so long ago, under the noses of those he cursed with a dying breath."

He knew Groose only by sight and name - that battle between the Hero of the Sky and Demise had been one he had stepped far back from. It had not been his place to interfere - he had still been a young god, then and it was not his right to fight a battle for his creator's chosen.

"You surprise me, and it is not often I am surprised. Why show me this vulnerability?"
