Smoke pillows through the sides of Sam's mask as he stalks his way through the forests. He wanted to prepare more, to train, to do something, but-

It doesn't matter. Sapnap got hurt- got killed because he didn't do something. He already let so many people get hurt by not doing something. They knew about it now, about the experiments, about, exile, about..

..He had to do this. Sam had to catch him again. And now he knows where Dream is, where the hideout is. They go still in front of the entrance, and knock. Just to be polite before he broke all of Dream's bones.

It’s not Dream who peeks through a little slit in the door, face smeared with blood and confusion- No, he’s far too busy. It’s Punz. 

They stumble back away, chanting “Shit, shit, shit, shit-” under their breath as they turn and sprint for one of the safer rooms. They could take Sam. But what if it’s not just Sam? What if it’s Sam, and Sapnap, and Bad, and- 

“Dream? Dream, get- Sam’s here, get the fuck up!” 

Dream jolts up, donning armor with clumsy hands in a ritual that would normally serve to calm but is now just making his heartbeat rise in steady thump-thump-thumps that ring in his ears. Sure, he was expecting to fight Sam eventually! That’s just how Sam was, he liked to feel in control, he liked to feel like he was doing something. Keep him on the hunt, and he’d hardly be a problem, that’s what Dream had thought but now he was here-

“How did- how did he get here! How would he have found- It’s fine.” He laughed. “It’s fucking fine. You know what? This is great! We needed to move anyways, now that Sapnap knows.”
