Krampus
Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year. But it didnt use to be so jolly for the naughty kids and adults. No. You see there was another traveler alongside santa ..... A demon. Now, most of you have probably heard of the Christmas demon Krampus. He was not like other demons though. His heart was full of good intent. You see, while santa rewarded to nice kids, Krampus would punish the naughty ones. He carried a sack much like Santa's, only he would stuff the naughty child in, in hopes of scaring them into being good next year. Once they were captured, Krampus would shake the bag, rattle chains and scream a demonic wail. The parents of the world knew he did this to make their children behave, and all was well. As decades went by however, people stopped telling the tale of Krampus, and Santa decided it would be best to part ways. A famous rhyme was developed for santa instead, claiming he knows when youre awake. This kept most kids in line. At least, the lucky ones. Santa was not used to punishment. He tried doing no presents at all for the naughty ones but that just made him sad. Then he tried coal, but learned the families were using it for fire. Out of ideas, santa remembered Krampus. So one night, Santa brought an extra sack. He tied a teenage boy up in it for being naughty, and shook it. But he realized something was wrong. The bag was no longer moving. In horror, he opened the sack. The boy was dead. Santa laid him in his bed, weeping at first before thinking, "This is what Krampus did, right? I must uphold tradition. " He continued his grisly killings for only a few houses before he was stopped by the bedroom of a little girl. There stood Krampus, holding the teenage boys body. "Saint Nick", Krampus said sadly. " I know you think I have been killing kids all these years, but you must understand. The only reason i was able to keep them in the sack without suffocation was my demonic power. " Santa was shocked. He had killed four children, not realizing Krampus was never doing so. Krampus sighed. "We can make this right. But you must pass on your magic to me, so i may revive the poor children. " He explained if Santa did this, the magic would seek a new host for Christmas after. Saint Nick would be a mere man. It was a large loss for Santa. But an even larger loss for the parents if he refused. Santa made Krampus promise to help the new host so this would never happen again. Krampus did not hesitate to agree. Absorbing Saint Nicks magic, Krampus lay the children in their beds, then placed a shaken snowglobe next to each of them. When the snow settled, they would awake with no recollection of what occured. The christmas magic then shot out of Krampus and into the night. Krampus came up behind saint Nick, a disheartened look on his face. "I will give you the gift you desire old friend. I can sense your grief. Your suffering. And im sorry that you want this" With that, he forced the man into the sack, and tightened it, until no air was left. But do not worry. The very same night, a bright light flashed over the house of a man. He was a wealthy bachelor who owned a factory. He awoke with a sudden jolt to see a demon before him, yet he felt at ease. It reached out and took his hand asking, "Are you ready, Mr. Kringle? ". The sound of sleigh bells was heard that night, and every christmas since. So remember, be good and Kris Kringle will find you a wonderful toy or present. But sin, and Krampus will come for you. After all, hes only doing his job
