PLEASE SEE THIS HEHEHEHEHEHE i thought a lot about eother being a vampire or elf, can you tell what its like being one? I would love a loong yap but its up to you obviously🫐💚
I haven't exactly been an elf the way you guys know them here, but I have been a vampire a TON of times, in a lot of different settings!
I've shifted to TVD and Twilight for example. But mostly, Daeron and I have shifted to a bunch of 'original' realities, where we are a kind of vampires that is not 100% comparable to anything in media here, but something we enjoy a lot!
We, obviously, drink blood, but we are not limited to it. We might enjoy a small meal every once in a while, but it won't nurture or fill us, it's purely for taste. Similarly we can have someone eat a food we like and then drink their blood to almost get a taste of what those foods are like. But generally speaking, I'd say the taste of blood there is comparable to a beef broth almost? It's very savoury, a little salty and irony, but obviously, as a vampire, it's deeply enjoyable. Better warm than cold, but good either way.
In those realities, drinking someone's blood in 90% of the cases is a fair exchange. Money, power, help, or simply just a luxurious and well taken care of dinner, in exchange for some blood. There are many people offering themselves in that way, because they don't lose anything on it.
But aside from that there are also healing and mind tricks for other cases where you have no choice.
The sun is a weakness, but not instant death. See it like being extremely draining. Being exposed to the sun will slowly make us feel weaker and weaker, and require us to feed again sooner to build up energy again. The longer you're exposed to it, the more sickly you'll get and feel, so it's something we prefer to avoid, but not something that is completely impossible, at least for a little while.
We can sleep, but it's also not necessary. If we're well fed we can go weeks or months without sleeping. The only time it really becomes necessary is when we're weaker or unable to feed properly, as sleep keeps the body in a state where it doesn't gain or lose energy. One thing I personally also love is dream walking and shared dreams in those realities. Any time either me or my husband is asleep, we'll affect or join each other's dreams. It's also a lot of fun when one of us isn't a vampire (yet).
Powers can change and vary a lot, depending on the person. It can be based on your personality or general being/soul. It can also be based on physique or even aspects of your prior life. Someone like one of our best friends, Steff, will always be stronger physically in vampire form than I would be, simply because of how muscled he always has been.
We really enjoy these types of realities and versions of vampirism, because we get to somewhat blend in with society when we want to, our society is often held secret and not something most normal people are aware of. But it does come with many benefits and cool extras, like the powers we have, the almost unlimited time we get to stay awake or do whatever we want. We enjoy being the weirdos who live in a mansion or castle and appear normal enough, but still with that hint of strangeness that makes people wary of us.
I think my least favourite kind of vampire I've been/interacted with is the Twilight kind. One of my 'first' shifts was to a reality based on that place as a dare. I had to replace Bella and Daeron had to replace Edward. It wasn't only the fact that his whole body was as hard as stone, but also the fact that he was ice cold that really stuck with me. There was no true way to get comfort, to hug him, to be close to him. The senses and bloodlust there is also so incredibly strong that it really made me think about how I DO want to experience those things.
Sue me, but I like it, whether I'm human at first or not, for vampires to have at least a slightly normal body temperature. I think the whole concept of ''I'm literally dead so no one can be close to me or I'll get busted,'' in my case, is fun for a little bit, but in those realities where we have lived long term, I much prefer not having to worry about it TOO much.
I probably forgot half of what I wanted to say, but here's my yap LMAO💚
